EAMCET forms can be submitted till May 7 with late fee of Rs 10,000

333 candidates applied for EAMCET 2013 to be held on May 10, with the late fee of Rs. 5000 till the last date which was April 27. The last date for submitting application with a late fee of Rs. 10000 is May 7.

Sources of Jawaharlal Lal Nehru technological University (dept. of EAMCET) told that candidates desirous to appear for EAMCET 2013 should have to pay the fee with Rs. 10000 fine from April 28 to May 7. Candidates who have applied with the late fee of Rs 5000 and Rs 10000 will have to write the exam at the Hyderabad centre only even if they belong to any other place of the state.

Husband kills wife
(Siasat News): A heart-wrenching incident of murder took place in Amberpet where a husband killed his wife.

According to police, Shakira, 40 and her husband Syed Ibrahim, 45, had exchanged heated argument last night that turned violent when out of rage, Ibrahim attacked his wife with a hammer on her head killing her on the spot.

When neighbours spotted Shakira in a pool of blood, they informed the ambulance service and she was shifted to a hospital where she was declared dead.

Attack on Sarabjit may hit Indo-Pak ties: Daily

The attack on Sarabjit Singh could have serious implications for Pakistan-India ties, said a Pakistani daily, adding that the fate of the Indian death row prisoner was caught in the problematic relationship between the two countries.

Sarabjit Singh was admitted to a Lahore hospital after a murderous attack on him in Kot Lakhpat jail April 26. He is in coma. His family has arrived in Pakistan on a special visa issued by the Pakistan government.

Pakistan panel to decide if Sarabjit should be treated abroad

A panel of experts has reportedly been appointed in Pakistan to determine whether comatose Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh should be sent abroad for further treatment.

Sarabjit”s family has been demanding that he be airlifted to India for treatment.

Doctors at Lahore”s Jinnah Hospital said he has shown no signs of improvement since being brought in on Friday evening, and declared his chances of survival as slim.

Government to open 7,000 new bank branches every year: Chidambaram

Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, who was on a weekend visit to his parliamentary constituency of Sivagangai in Tamil Nadu, has revealed that the government has plans to open at least 7000 new bank branches every year across the country.

He was speaking to media after inaugurating the State Bank of India”s new branch at the Sivagangai Collectorate. Chidambaram said that this means that at least 20 branches would be opened across the country per day. He said that he expected that by the end of March 2014, all banks in the country would have an ATM facility.

Planet Saturn, known as “Lord of the Rings”, will be visible at its brightest today in the sky as it positions itself directly opposite the Sun.

Saturn will be at its ‘opposition’ today at 13:58 IST, SPACE Director C B Devgun said.

An object is said to be at opposition when the Sun is on one side of the Earth and the object is directly on the opposite side. The result is that the object is fully illuminated by the Sun and appears disk-like, he said.

I will be making films till I become 105-years-old: Eastwood

Actor-director Clint Eastwood is 82-years-old, but he dreams of making films for two more decades.

Eastwood, who attended a wide-ranging conversation about the art of film directing at the recently concluded Tribeca Film Festival, expressed his admiration for the 104-year-old Portuguese director Manoel de Oliveira, reported the Huffington Post.

“It would be great to be 105 and still making films and that would be the ultimate optimism,” he said.

Eastwood last directed 2011’s “J Edgar,” a biopic of the FBI head J Edgar Hoover.

Two accused wanted to kill Sarabjit in revenge

The main accused in the brutal attack of Sarabjit Singh in the Pakistani jail have told investigators that they planned to kill him to take revenge for bombings he was accused of carrying out in Lahore.

According to a preliminary report prepared by Deputy Inspector General of Police (Prisons) Malik Mubashir, the accused Amer Aftab and Mudassar, both death row prisoners said they hated Sarabjit as he was accused of killing many Pakistanis in bomb blasts in Lahore in 1990.

Mubashir has submitted the report to the Home Department of Punjab province, official sources said.

Five killed in Thailand bridge collapse

At least five people were killed and 45 injured, five of them seriously, when a bridge collapsed in Thailand’s central province of Ayutthaya Sunday evening, local media reported.

The 31-year-old suspension bridge, located in Tha Rua district over the Pa Sak river, collapsed in the middle as its main cables that support the deck snapped, Xinhua reported.

Many people were walking and riding by motorcycles across the 120-metre long bridge. The toll was expected to rise since more people were feared to have been trapped under the debris.

In an incident occurred at S R Nagar area, body of a boy who went missing has been found. It is said that 10 year old Ashrafuddin went missing day before yesterday all of a sudden. His parents lodged missing complaint with the police. Sharfuddin’s body was yesterday found in a water pit.

Israel not to tolerate rocket fire: Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that his country would not allow the intermittent firing of rockets into its territory and warned the continued attacks would be dealt aggressively.

“I want to make clear that we will not tolerate a ‘drizzle’ policy,” reported Xinhua citing Netanyahu at the weekly cabinet session.

The remarks came hours after Israeli aircraft attacked targets in the Gaza Strip in response to a rocket that was fired at western Negev on Saturday night.

Gehlot in Israel to bring back farm technology

A delegation from Rajasthan led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot now visiting Israel held talks with officials on cooperation in agriculture, horticulture and water resources, a statement issued here said on Sunday. Cooperation in water management, particularly drip and sprinkler irrigation in water-deficient Rajasthan, was also discussed, the statement said.

Man found hanging in police lock-up, torture alleged

A person, arrested in connection with the murder of a CISF constable and his wife, was on Sunday found hanging in the toilet of a police lock-up in Ghaziabad. While a fellow prisoner has alleged that the victim was tortured to death, police ruled out the charges, saying he committed suicide.
