Sahir Ludhianvi breathed his last on October 25, 1980, at the age of fifty-nine.

India-Pak snooker series postponed following Karachi twin blasts

The Indian snooker team was due to reach Karachi later this week for the series scheduled from March 7-10, but the twin blasts in Abbas Town that shook Karachi and sent law and order situation in the city reeling, made conditions unsafe for the tour, the Express Tribune reports.

The Fox News poll revealed that overall, 74 percent of voters approve of using drones to kill a suspected terrorist overseas. That includes majorities of Republicans (80 percent), independents (71 percent) and Democrats (69 percent), as well as both men (78 percent) and women (71 percent). The level of approval drops from 74 percent to 60 percent, however, if the suspected terrorist is a U.S.

Miami court convicts Muslim cleric of sourcing thousands to support Pak Taliban

New York, Mar. 5 (ANI): An elderly Muslim cleric has been convicted of funneling thousands of dollars to support the Pakistani Taliban, by a US court. Hafiz Khan, 77, who is a cleric at a downtown Miami mosque, was found guilty of all four charges: two conspiracy counts and two counts of providing material support to terrorists. Each charge carries a maximum 15-year prison sentence, reports the New York Daily News.

HC rejects bail plea of man in cheating case

The Delhi High Court today refused to grant interim anticipatory bail to a man, who claimed to be a close relative of former Army Chief General V K Singh, in a cheating case.

Denying any relief to Shambhu Prasad Singh, who also claimed to be a defence contractor and allegedly duped people
after projecting himself as an IAS officer at the home ministry, the court directed Delhi Police to file a status
report by March 14.

Justice Kailash Gambhir asked Public Prosecutor Naveen Sharma to file the status report about his antecedents and the number of criminal cases against him.

Two minor girls allegedly raped in Nagpur

Two minor girls were allegedly raped in two different incidents and at two different localities, the police said here today.

In the first incident, a fifth standard student of a local school in Lakadganj in the eastern part of the city, was
criminally assaulted by an unknown accused early today.

The incident occurred when a young boy dragged her behind her school, gagged her and allegedly raped her.

The girl was rushed to the state-run Mayo General Hospital for treatment after bleeding profusely.

No arrests have been made have been made so far.

Germany delinks Modi’s image from human rights issues

Against the backdrop of the European Union ending decade-old boycott of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Germany today sought to make distinction between human rights issues and image of the BJP leader, saying both cannot be linked.

Ingredients

10 slices whole wheat bread , cut into cubes
1 cup low fat curds (dahi)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1 green chilli, slit
3 to 4 curry leaves (kadi patta)
1 tsp grated ginger (adrak)
1/4 cup onions, sliced
2 tsp oil
salt to taste

For the garnish
1/4 cup chopped corriander (dhania)
Procedure

In a bowl, combine the curds, turmeric powder and salt with 2 tablespoons of water and mix well.

1/2 Cup creamy Caesar-style salad dressing
1/2 Head lettuce, torn into small pieces
1 Large tomato, cut into wedges

1 Green bell pepper, seeded and thinly sliced
2 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated
1/2 Sweet onion, sliced
1 Cup cheese and garlic croutons
Salt, to taste

In a baking pan, place the chicken and pour mesquite-lime marinade over all.
