Deeply disturbed by blasts: Meira Kumar

“Strongly” condemning the twin blasts in Hyderabad, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar Friday said the incident had left everyone “deeply disturbed”.

“I strongly condemn this act of terrorism in Hyderabad last (Thursday) evening and I offer my condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives,” Kumar told reporters outside parliament house.

“We all are deeply disturbed because of this tragic incident. I wish speedy recovery to those who have been injured in the attack,” she added.

Toll in Hyderabad terror attack rises to 16

The death toll in the twin bomb blasts that rocked Hyderabad rose to 16 with two more of the injured succumbing to their injuries Friday.

The deaths took place in two private hospitals, officials said.

Earlier Friday, Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde told reporters after a visit to the site of the terror attack that 14 people were killed and 119 injured in the Thursday evening explosions.

Fourteen bodies were brought to the government-run Osmania Hospital Thursday night. Twelve of them have been identified and the bodies handed over to their relatives.

Parliament adjourned over blasts, Sri Lanka

Both houses of parliament were adjourned Friday after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a noisy protest over the Hyderabad bombings. In the Lok Sabha, there was added chaos with Tamil members denouncing “war crimes” in Sri Lanka.

AIADMK and DMK members were on their feet as the Lok Sabha met, flashing pictures of the slain LTTE chief Velupillai Prabhakaran’s 12-year-old son who was reportedly shot dead in cold blood in May 2009.

There was uproar as they trooped towards Speaker Meira Kumar shouting slogans against the Sri Lankan regime.

Recurrence of bomb blasts speak of the negligence of the Govt.

When Bomb blasts took place in Makkah Masjid, the TV Channels rushed to declare that it is a terrorist attack of Lashkar-e-Tayeba, Indian Mujahideen and other Muslim organizations.

The Muslim DGP of that time also blamed a Muslim organization for this attack. A leader of the so-called local political party gave a statement that Shahid Bilal is involved in Makkah Masjid Bomb Blasts.

High level meeting of CM

CM of AP Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy reviewed Law and Order situation in a high level committee meeting held last night.

He visited Dilsukhnagar, Osmania General Hospital and Care Hospital to see the injured victims.

DGP Mr. V. Dinesh Reddy, Chief of Intelligence Additional DGP of Intelligence, Mr. Anurag Sharma, Police Commissioner, Mr. D. Thirumala Rao, Commissioner of Police of Cyberabad. Principal Secretary (Home) and other higher officials attended the meeting. He took stock of the law and order situation and the steps to be taken to restore peace in the city.

A 17 year old student Ajaz Ahmed died in bomb blast

Mohammed Ajaz Ahmed (17) was a brilliant student of Polytechnic. He was very regular in his studies. When he didn’t came back home, his family members got worried.

Mr. Mohammed Asghar Ahmed of Indiranagar Amberpet also died in bomb blasts. He is a mechanic in Vithalwadi.

Ajaz Ahmed was the first year student of Automobile Engineering in Polytechnic. His dead body was found at Osmania General Hospital.

Bomb blasts within 24 hours of Shinde’s apology

Mr. Shinde, Home Minister of India was being targeted by the hard core Hindu outfits on the remarks he had made last month that Hindu activists are responsible for terrorists activities in the country.

Pressure was mounting on him for tendering an apology. Hindutva forces threatened that they would boycott parliament session.

Mr. Susheel Kumar Shinde at last yielded to this pressure and tendered his apology the day before yesterday. Within 24 hours of his tendering apology bomb blasts occurred in Dilsukhnagar.

High alert in the State

DGP of A.P. Mr. V. Dinesh Reddy declared that the bomb blast in Dilsukhnagar is a terrorist activity. He did not name any organization for it.

He addressed a press conference yesterday night. He told that the first bomb explosion took place at 6:58 pm and the second one occurred after three minutes. He told that 13 persons were killed in this incident and 83 were injured. The injured persons have been shifted to seven hospitals where they are being treated.

AP Bandh declared today by BJP

State President of BJP, Mr. G. Kishan Reddy condemned the Bomb blasts in dilsukhnagar and announced to observe “Bandh” today.

Mr. Kishan Reddy & Bandaru Dattatreya visited the area of bomb blast to take stock of loss of property & lives. They also went to Osmania General Hospital to meet the injured persons.

Talking to newsmen they told that the terrorists are bent upon disrupting the peaceful atmosphere of the country.

Attempt to link Bomb blasts to Telangana movement

Dilsukhnagar area is predominated by the people of Seema Andhra Region. Attempts are being made to link Dilsukhnagar Bomb blast incidents with Telangana Movement. The purpose of it seems to be to stop the Central Govt. to take a decision on separating Telangana.

Impartial investigations essential – Mr. Zahid Ali Khan

Bomb blasts in Hyderabad can’t demoralize people. The people of Hyderabad would respond to such blasts by maintaining peace. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat and Polit Buro member of TDP told this while strongly condemning the Bomb blasts occurred in Dilsukhnagar yesterday.

He told that there is a need to explode the forces behind these explosions. For this, it is essential to conduct an impartial enquiry.

Mr. Rajnath Singh, President of BJP will visit Hyderabad at 12:30 pm today to visit Dilsukhnagar. He will also visit various hospitals to see the injured patients. He will review the situation along with local BJP leaders.

Bomb Blasts in Hyderabad – Don’t guess – Says CM

Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, CM of A.P. after visiting the site of the Bomb Blast at Dilsukhnagar yesterday. He strongly condemned the explosion. So far 16 persons have been killed and more than 119 are injured in the incident. Govt. will bear the expenses of their treatment. The descendants of the deceased persons will be given an ex-gratia of Rs. 6 lakh each by the PM Dr. Manmohan Singh has announced Rs two lakh and Mayor of Hyderabad has announced Rs. One Lakh. Govt. will also give Rs. 50 thousand to Rs. One lakh for the treatment of the injured persons.

Bomb blasts condemned

Mr. Aziz Pasha, former MP, Mr. K. Ramakrishna Rao, former MLA of CPI contacted the officials soon after the bomb blast to get the details of bomb blast occurred in Dilsukhnagar yesterday. They condemned the incident saying that it is most unfortunate. They demanded the Govt. to grant ex-gratia to the victims.

Mr. Latef Mohammed Khan, Secretary of Civil Liberties Committee condemned the bomb blast incident and said that it is the inhuman activity. He regretted that Govt. has failed to establish the supremacy of the law enforcing agencies.

CPI demands comprehensive investigations of blasts

Condemning Dilsukhnagar incident CPI State Committee demanded comprehensive investigations of the incident. Later former MP (Rajya Sabha) Syed Aziz Pasha and K Rama Krishna Rao visited the site and Yashodha Hospital and enquired the wellbeing of the injured.

Aziz Pasha declared the blast as deplorable and a cowardly act and came down heavily on intelligence agencies of the state. He told that the security agencies failed to foil miscreants plan despite the fact that the centre alerted them 3 days ago.

Smallest planet discovered

Nasa has discovered the smallest known planet outside our solar system which is slightly larger than the moon and orbits its sun like host star every 13 days.

Nasa’s Kepler space telescope detected the smallest planet yet found around a star similar to the sun in a new planetary system. The planets are located in a system called Kepler-37, about 210 light-years from earth in the constellation Lyra. The smallest planet, Kepler-37b, is slightly larger than our moon, measuring about one-third the size of earth. It is smaller than Mercury, which made its detection a challenge.

Hyderabad blasts rock Parliament

The twin blasts in Hyderabad rocked both Houses of Parliament today with opposition members attacking the government for alleged lapses in matters of internal security.

As soon as the Lok Sabha met, Speaker Meira Kumar made an obituary reference to the victims of the blasts in which several persons were killed and a large number injured.

“The House unequivocally condemns this barbaric and cowardly act of terrorism,” Kumar said.

Members stood in silence for a while as a mark of respect to the departed.

Hyderabad blasts: Five young students among dead

Hyderabad: A trip to purchase books for the exam of sub-inspector in Excise department proved to be the last outing of Vijay Kumar, who was among the five students killed in the twin blasts in the city.

Among the other students killed was Rajasekhar, who was pursuing MBA, Harish, an engineering student from Kottapet locality in the city, and Swapna, another MBA student.

Vijay Kumar had come to the site to purchase some books as he was preparing to take the examination for the post of sub-inspector in Prohibition and Excise department when the blast took place.

Thief says he distributed money among poor

An employee of a security company who made off with nearly $500,000 before turning himself in to the Paraguayan police 30 hours later with just $200 in his pocket said he had distributed the cash among the poor.

“I robbed the thief,” Carlos Gonzalez said shortly after surrendering to authorities at a police station in the Asuncion suburb of Villa Elisa early Thursday.

Police had been searching for the suspect since Tuesday afternoon, when he took advantage of the momentary absence of his co-workers to drive away with the armoured money truck.
