Saudi Arabia to allow women to work in pharmacies

Saudi Labor Minister Adel Faqih announced on the weekend that women will soon be allowed to work in pharmacies, a job held only by men so far, media reports said.

Faqih said at a private business event that his ministry was working to prepare a “safe and proper” environment that guarantees the employment of women in pharmacies.

The minister, who did not specify when the new measure will enter into effect, admitted that his department had faced criticism over its programme designed to offer more job opportunities to Saudi women.

PHC inspector arrested for raping four-yr-old girl

A Primary Health Care inspector was arrested at nearby Kullampatty village today for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl.

Acting on a complaint by the child’s parents, the 47-year-old health inspector of the PHC at the village was arrested, they said.

The child was raped yesterday.

The man has been booked under Section 3 and 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, they said.

Undertrial escapes from police custody

An undertrial, admitted to a district hospital for treatment, has fled from police custody, police said today.

Atul alias Raja was admitted here yesterday after he complained of pain in abdomen from Balrampur jail, where he was lodged in a Gangster Act case, they said.

He dodged the constables Indradev Bharti and Arvind Kumar Pandey, who were accompanying him, yesterday night and fled.

Pakistan daily’s website hacked

The website of a Pakistani daily, the News International, was hacked Monday, with the hackers claiming that they controlled the “.pk domains”.

A message on the daily’s website from “PAKbugs” read: “Here we go again, pknic.net.pk you think you control .pk domains? LOL you don’t! today we are controlling .pk domains!
after you patched your …system we still owned you it was perfect security, btw we dumped 23,000 Accounts information successfully, including government news blogs forums etc etc…”

Kiran Kumar Reddy in Delhi, Meet Sonia gandhi

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and state Congress chief Botsa Satyanarayana reached Delhi Monday for consultations with top leadership of the Congress party over Telangana issue.

The two leaders reached the national capital by an early morning flight. The party leadership had summoned them for consultations before taking a decision on the vexatious issue.

They are likely to meet Congress general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is also in charge of party affairs in the state, and other central leaders.

Iraq war veteran charged with murder

A 25-year-old man accused of murdering “American Sniper” author Chris Kyle and another man in the US state of Texas, was an Iraq war veteran, authorities confirmed Sunday.

The US military said the suspect Eddie Ray Routh was a corporal in the Marines from 2006 to 2010, and he is currently listed as reserve, reported Xinhua citing the Houston Chronicle.

Routh is charged with two counts of capital murder, for allegedly killing 38-year-old Kyle and 35-year-old Chad Littlefield at Rough Creek Lodge, an upscale hunting lodge in northern Texas, on Saturday afternoon.

Singers can’t be silenced by morons: Omar Abdullah

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has come down heavily on those threatening the three young girls who have formed the Valley’s only rock band, Pragaash, and Monday promised police investigations into the threats.

He encouraged the girls, saying their talent should not be stymied by “a handful of morons who are trying to silence them”.

Late Sunday evening, Kashmir’s Grand Mufti (head priest) Mufti Bashiruddin had issued a ‘fatwa’ (religious decree) against the singing of the girls, and criticised the government for “trying to encourage a shameless act”.

Crime In Hyderabad (4.2.2013)

Youth from Tripura killed
(Siasat News): A youth was brutally murdered at Medchal by some unknown persons. According to police, 23-year-old Sanjeev alias Sandeep, resident of Kishtapur village, has been mysteriously missing from January 20.

Police recovered his decomposed body from a drain. It is said that he was actually killed some days back and the killers had dumped his body into a sack and had thrown it into the drain. Medchal police has registered a case.

Proposed law on Hindu marriages held up in Pakistan

A proposed law on Hindu marriages had been held up as it “bounced back and forth between different official bodies”, said a leading Pakistani daily Monday.

An editorial in the Dawn observed that though the current National Assembly has passed some important laws during its tenure, its performance has remained tardy in other areas where legislation is direly needed.

As many as 176 private members’ bills are pending approval, with some dating back to 2008.

Court frames charges against Kalmadi, 9 others

A Delhi court Monday framed charges against former Commonwealth Games (CWG) Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi and nine others for forgery, cheating and conspiracy in a corruption case related to the 2010 Delhi Games.

The 10 accused were present in the special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court when judge Ravinder Kaur framed the charges.

SC dismisses plea for removal of Andhra HC judge

The Supreme Court today dismissed a plea challenging the appointment of Justice N V Ramana as a judge of Andhra Pradesh High Court on the ground that a criminal case was pending against him at the time of his elevation to the bench.

A bench headed by Justice Aftab Alam also imposed a cost of Rs 50,000 on the petitioner who had sought quashing of appointment of the judge.

Saffron flags on the historic building at Gulzar Houz

(Siasat News) It has become a tradition to decorate the buildings on the occasions of religious functions by installing flags. Police removes them after these celebrations come to an end. There are some places, where, despite seeing them, police doesn’t remove these flags.

Some elderly persons pointed out that on a historic building near Gulzar Houz, saffron flags were installed. Initially, one flag was erected, then two flags appeared and in no time, the number increased.

Muslim Personal Law Board demands release of innocent Muslim youths from jails

All India Muslim Personal Law Board has alleged that a large number of Muslim youths were lodged in prisons on terror charges and no charge sheet has been filed against them even after they were picked up over ten years ago.”The board, in its executive meeting chaired by president AIMPLB Maulana Syed Mohammad Rabe Hasan Nadvi, discussed that a large number of innocent Muslim youths are lodged in the jails for the past several years,” said Maulana Abdul Rahim Qureshi, board’s assistant general secretary.
The board claimed that even after a decade no charge sheet has been filed against them.

Chairman of Human Rights observers, Mr. Mohammeed Tameem has approached United Nations Organisation to intervene in the long detention case of Mr. Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy. He approached the Human Rights Commission of the UNO in this connection. He met Mr. Nonitham Pillay, High Commissioner of Human Rights organization and Mr. Bankimon, Secretary General of UNO in New York and submitted a detailed memorandum requesting them to intervene in the matter immediately to ensure Jagan’s release.

Fatwa issued against Kashmir`s all-girl rock band

After facing threats, Kashmir’s first all girls music band is now facing a fatwa from Muslim clerics. Kashmir’s Grand Mufti has condemned the rock band and issued a fatwa against them, saying music is bad for the society and women must be under a veil at all times.

The senior cleric has also called for women in the country to wear the veil at all times and said that women performing in public is the reason for increasing number of sexual assaults. Earlier there were threats against the music band Pragaash.

Inciting speeches on the occasion of Ganesh Visarjan – Cases Booked

Mr. Ghulam Rabbani, Advocate has filed a complaint in Hussaini Alam police station against BJP President Mr. G. Kishan Reddy, Mr. Bandaru Dattatreya, former MP, Swamy Ram Vilas Vedanty and the office bearers of Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee charging them of making inciteful speeches during Ganesh Visarjan celebrations in 2010 in Old City of Hyderabad.

In his application, Mr. Rabbani alleged that these leaders had made inciteful speeches at Charminar to disrupt communal harmony. These speeches are making rounds on website and hence action must be taken against them.
