Danam not to talk on T till sonia delivers decision

Labour Minister Danam Nagender here on Friday said every one has to wait till the Centre announced its decision on Telengana. He also made it clear that he was not talking on the issue as Congress president Sonia Gandhi wanted every one to keep silent on the sensitive issue till a decision was announced.

Asked why failed to attend the Telangana Congress leaders’ meeting in the residence of Panchayat Raj Minister K. Jana Reddy, Danam said that he could not turn up at the meeting as he was busy with various inaugural functions attended by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy in the city.

CPI State secretary Dr K Narayana has found fault with MIM Floor leader and Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi for making hate speeches like a ‘terrorist’.

No need for permission to arrest Akbar: Speaker

Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar has clarified that there was no need for his permission to arrest MIM Floor leader and Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, who was facing several criminal cases for delivering hate speeches at public meetings in Nirmal town of Adilabad district recently.

Interacting with media persons at Assembly Committee Hall on Friday, Manohar said the Speaker would intervene only when a member was being obstructed from attending the House when it was in session. He said the Speaker’s interference depends on the nature of the case.

Pritala Sriram’s bail petition posted to Jan 7

Hearing on the bail petition of Paritala Sriram, son of TDP MLA Paritala Sunita and late leader Paritala Ravindra was posted to January 7.

Sriram is Accused No. 14 in the conspiracy to murder Congress leader Kamireddypalli Sudhakar Reddy. Sriram’s lawyers filed an anticipatory bail petition in the district court here.

Aruna’s murder case accused attempts suicide

Shiva Kumar, the main accused in the murder case of Osmania University student Aruna, on Friday attempted suicide by jumping from a running train near Pune.

According to sources, Shiva Kumar was arrested in Mumbai by a team of Hyderabad City Police. However, he jumped out of the running train near Pune. He suffered serious injuries and has been admitted to a hospital in Pune.

Sources further revealed that Shiva Kumar attempted suicide before he was taken into the custody by the police. However, he was saved and taken into custody by the police.

Malala Yousafzai released from British hospital

Pakistani teenaged rights activist Malala Yousafzai, who was shot in the head by the Taliban for promoting girls’ education, has been discharged from a hospital in Britain but will undergo cranial reconstructive surgery soon.

The 15-year-old was shot by a Taliban assassin as she took a bus home from school in Pakistan’s northwest region in October 2012. She was flown to Britain shortly after the attack and was treated at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Garlic Soup

Enjoy monsoons by sipping this nourishing, savoury soupIngredients:

• 2 tbsp Olive Oil
• 2 Carrots (peeled and diced)
• 1 medium Cabbage (chopped)
• ½ Cauliflower (chopped)
• 6 cloves Garlic (finely chopped)
• 1 cup diced Tomatoes
• 4 tsp Tomato puree
• 1 cup Water
• ¼ cup Milk/ Light Cream
• 1 tbsp Butter
• Salt (to taste)
• Pepper (to taste)

Procedure:

• Place a large pot on medium heat and heat olive oil.
• Add carrot, cabbage, cauliflower. Cook for a few minutes, stirring frequently.

Ingredients:

2 boneless chicken breasts
5 big tbsp flour
1 tsp salt
3/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 cup milk
2 cups Italian style breadcrumbs
2 to 3 cups vegetable or corn oil (for frying)

4-8 leaves of lettuce (according to preference)
1 or 2 tomatoes (sliced thin)
8 pieces sliced cheese (optional)
4 (wheat) buns
mayonnaise and mustard (or any sauce you prefer)

Procedure:

Wash and dry your chicken thoroughly. `Butterfly` it by laying your chicken breast flat on your cutting board.

Govt considers Kelkal panel report;diesel, LPG rates may go up

Diesel, kerosene and cooking gas LPG prices may be hiked soon as the government considers Vijay Kelkar Committee recommendations on cutting fiscal deficit.

The Kelkar Committee, which was appointed by Finance Ministry to suggest a roadmap for fiscal consolidation, has suggested immediate hike in fuel prices and complete deregulation of diesel prices by start of 2014-15 fiscal. It also suggested raising kerosene and LPG rates.

Javed Miandad, whose son is married to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s daughter, today cancelled his visit to Delhi in the wake of a raging controversy in India over giving him visa for the trip.

Former Pakistan captain Miandad, who was to watch the third and final ODI in Delhi, cancelled his visit to avoid a controversy, a PCB official said on condition of anonymity.
The official said the PCB did not want the focus to move away from cricket to other matters.

India Yamaha Motor targets one million units by 2015

Hoping to sell around one million two-wheelers by 2015, India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd expects its scooters to contribute a major share in that, a senior company official said Friday.

“Nearly 40 percent of the one million units will be from two-wheelers. The scooter segment is growing at around 20 percent per annum while the two-wheeler segment is growing at 11 percent,” Roy Kurian, national business head – sales, told reporters here.

India’s Mars exploration mission by Oct

India’s tryst with Mars will begin in October to explore the red planet’s atmosphere and search for life-sustaining elements, a top space official said Friday.

“We are trying very hard and by mid-October we are expecting to launch the Mars mission,” said J.N. Goswami, in-charge of the exploration mission.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Indian Science Congress here, Goswami said the mission is yet to get an official name.

Rs.50,000 as compensation for being kidnapped, taken to Nagpur and raped in captivity for many days. That is what a panchayat in Uttar Pradesh has offered a 13-year-old who came to them with her tale of horror at the hands of a youth from the village.

The panchayat in Mauli village in Pratapgarh, about 170 km from here, pronounced its “judgment” late Thursday, police officials said Friday, even as Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat’s comment that crimes such as rape take place in India and not so much in Bharat kicked up a massive controversy.

Rapes occur in India, not Bharat: Bhagwat remarks catches fire

There can be no basis to distinguish between rural and urban India when it comes to crimes against women, union Home Secretary R.K. Singh said Friday following RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s remark that Rapes occur in India, not Bharat and “westernisation” in Indian cities was the reason behind increasing cases of rape.

“There is no basis for making distinction between India and Bharat,” Singh said on the sidelines of a function Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System here.
