Secret smoking proved dear to a man who fell from third floor of a building. The incident occurred under Uppal police station limits where 35 year old Anil Kumar suspiciously fell from the 3rd floor and suffered serious injuries. The incident occurred yesterday evening.

Anil Kumar succumbed to injuries late at night. According to police sources Anil died by incidentally falling down from the building. He was residing in the apartment of Raghava Enclave at Ramanthapur. Police has registered the case and investigations are underway.

Crime In Hyderabad (5.1.2013)

Another rapist arrested
(Siasat News): A minor and orphan girl who was raped, the police arrested him and handed over to judicial custody. Police Ramgopalpet had arrested Parveen Singh, 28 following the complaint of the minor.

As per the details, the girl hailed from Mahboobnagar and has been living in Mallepally and was working in Sabzimandi area.

The accused was a Setwin bus driver. He lured the girl and took her to Necklace Road last night at 11.30 pm and raped her. Further investigations are on.

700 bug species in breast milk!

Scientists using DNA sequencing have identified more than 700 bug species in breast milk, the main source of nourishment for newborns.

Spanish researchers Maria Carmen Collado, from the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA-CSIC) and Alex Mira, from the Higher Public Health Research Centre (CSISP-GVA), traced the bacterial content in breast milk.

Following Delhi gang rape incident Home Minister Sabitha Indira Reddy has put forth a proposal, to make martial arts as part of the school and college curriculum, so that women and girls can cope with any untoward incident.

It remains to be seen whether the government fulfills its promise or not, but one thing is for sure that after Delhi incident parents have become more apprehensive about their daughters’ security.

Kapil says Indian team has lost focus

Former India captain Kapil Dev feels that Mahendra Singh Dhoni and some other players have lost their focus after winning the 2011 World Cup and the players are putting their self-interest ahead of the team.

“After the World Cup win, I feel they (Dhoni and other players) have lost focus. I think all the players are self-involved,” said Kapil, who led India to its first World Cup win in 1983.
Kapil’s comments came in the wake of India’s disastrous performance over the last 12 months.

The legendary all-rounder believes the team spirit is lacking in the Dhoni-led side.

Call Centre woman employee found murdered in Noida

A 21-year-old girl, who was missing since last night while returning from a call centre where she worked, was found murdered near her house in Sector 63 area today, with police suspecting that she might have been raped.

The victim was resident of Chotpur colony here and was working at a Sector 65 BPO on the outskirts of Delhi. She left the office around 9 PM for home with four other female colleagues, police said.

A US federal judge has set an evidentiary hearing for Jan 29 in a human rights violations case against Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to resolve basic jurisdictional issues.

Wisconsin Judge Rudolph T. Randa set the hearing on a plea by Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) seeking the court’s protection against alleged intimidation, threats and abuse to the families of the plaintiffs in India by Badal’s agents.

PA Sangma to launch his own political party today

PA Sangma, who broke ranks with the NCP to fight the Presidential Election against Pranab Mukherjee, will launch his own party on Saturday.

Sangma’s National People’s Party (NPP) will be formally launched at a function in the capital. His daughter Agatha, an NCP MP, may not join the new outfit as of now.

On Friday, Alok Kumar Goel, the national secretary of the new party, had told a news agency: “Tomorrow, we will have our first central executive committee meeting and then our party will be launched by Sangma. We will make several important announcements tomorrow.”

Delhi college student ragged, suffers serious injuries

Hit by a case of ragging, the premiere School of Planning and Architecture is contemplating a series of measures, including segregating freshers from senior students in hostels, in a bid to prevent recurrence of such incidents.

A rethink on preventive measures came after a first-year student was ragged and left him with injuries for which he needed a surgery. A case was also registered with police.

The incident happened in the boys hostel which is shared by first year and second year students.

Nepal Army chief to visit India

Nepal’s Army Gen Gaurav Shumsher Rana will pay a maiden visit to India from January 6 to further strengthen the age-old friendly relations existing between the armies of the two neighbouring nations.

Gen Rana, who assumed the top army post in September, will visit India at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Gen Bikram Singh. During his 10-day long trip, he will be conferred with the title of honorary General of the Indian Army by President Pranab Mukherjee as per a long-held tradition of conferring the title on each other’s army chief.

The hearing in the Delhi gang-rape case will begin on Saturday in a special fast-track court.

On Thursday, the Delhi Police had filed a 1,000-page chargesheet in the Delhi gang-rape case in the Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court in Saket.

The court had then fixed January 05 for cognisance of offence.

Pakistan batting legend Zaheer Abbas feels that under-fire Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni should take a break from Twenty20 captaincy to reflect on his game.

Top US Senators to visit Afghanistan, Pakistan

Two top American Senators including Carl Levin, who chairs the powerful Armed Services Committee, would travel to Afghanistan and Pakistan to look at security and political developments in the region.

Senator Levin would be joined by Senator Jack Reed, who is a senior member of Armed Services Committee. For security reasons, exact dates of their trip have not been announced.

During the trip, the Senators will meet with high-ranking foreign leaders, diplomats, and American military commanders, civilian personnel, according to a press statement issued by their office.

Saudi cleric says ‘gender mixing’ poses ‘threat to female chastity, society’

Saudi Arabia’s top cleric has warned against the mixing of the genders, saying it poses a threat to female chastity and society.

Grand Mufti Sheik Abdul-Aziz Al-Sheik said authorities must adhere to Shariah, or Islamic law, by ensuring men and women are separated as much as possible.

Al-Sheik said it is forbidden for women to unveil in front of men, warning that this will destroy the morals and values of society, News24 reports.

The cleric”s comments come just weeks ahead of allowing women to be members of the 150-member Shura Council, the country”s top advisory body.
