TRS meeting in Karimnagar

(Siasat News) It has been decided to hold the State Level Executive Committee meeting of Telangana Rashtra Samithi on 5th and 6th November in Pratima Multi Complex in Karimnagar. Captain Lakshmikanta Rao, District President of TRS, Mr. B. Vinod Kumar, former M.P. Mr. N. Lakshman Rao, MLC and other leaders of TRS inspected the hall of the meeting. As scheduled, MR. K. Chandrasekhara Rao, President of TRS would arrive in Karimnagar on 4th November. The meeting of the Executive Committee of TRS will be held on 5th November. It will continue till late in the night on 6th November also.

Recovery of Minorities Finance Corporation assured by Secretary

(Siasat News) Mr. M. Dana Kishore, IAS, Secretary to Govt. Minorities Welfare Dept., Govt. of A.P. gave an assurance to a TRS delegation led by Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Chairman of the Minorities Cell of TRS that the officials involved in the misappropriation of funds of the Minorities Finance Corporation won’t be spared. The delegation had presented a memorandum to him complaining that the Revenue officials are issuing income certificates for more amounts than the actual. A demand was made to remove the condition of production of income certificate in respect of students studying in Govt.

Job Mela of GHMC on 19th & 20th November

(Siasat News) Mayor of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Mr. Mohammed Majid Hussain told that a job mela would be organized at Banjara Function Palace on 19th and 20th November. He convened a meeting with the Zonal commissioner (Central Zone), Additional Commissioner (UCD) and other senior officials. He told that GHMC is the only corporation in the country which is taking steps to provide jobs to unemployed youths without overburdening their parents. He told that the first job mela was held in June this year. The reaction of it was tremendous. Many youngsters got the jobs.

A strong earthquake rattled the southern Philippine island of Mindanao early on Saturday, but there were no reports of any injuries or damage and no tsunami warnings were issued.

The quake, which hit at 2:17 A.M. (local time), had a magnitude of 6.4, according to the US Geological Survey. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology measured the magnitude at 6.5.

The institute said the quake’s epicenter was 20 kilometers northeast of southern Tandag city, and 832 kilometers southeast of Manila, the capital. It hit at a depth of 78 kilometers.

Russia sends anti-piracy force to Gulf of Aden

A task force from Russia’s Pacific Fleet has departed on an new anti-piracy mission off the Somali coast, according to Captain Roman Martov, the fleet’s spokesperson.

The task force will make an official visit to the port of Mumbai in India and conduct joint drills with the Indian navy on the way to the Gulf of Aden.

Led by the Udaloy class destroyer Marshal Shaposhnikov, the task force also includes the Irkut tanker and the Alatau rescue tug boat.

The Marshal Shaposhnikov destroyer has two Ka-27 naval helicopters and a unit of naval infantry on board, the spokesperson said Friday.

Albanian woman commits suicide in Delhi hotel

An Albanian woman allegedly committed suicide on Friday by hanging herself in her room at a hotel in Greater Kailash area, police said.

Duro Gledia, 29, was on a visit to India on a tourist visa along with her male friend, a Czech national. The incident came to light when Gledia’s friend returned to the room after having lunch and failed to open the door.

“When he failed to unlock the door, he called the manager and the staff for help. As soon as they broke open the door, they found her body hanging,” police said. No suicide note was found, they said.

Talks continue on Telangana: Sushilkumar Shinde

Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Friday said talks continued to find a solution to the Telangana issue.

Talking to reporters after reviewing the passing out parade at the National Police Academy here, he said the central government was holding talks with parliament members from the region.

He, however, refused to say anything about possible solutions to the contentious issue.

Heavy rains in Andhra destroys crops

As heavy rains continued to lash Andhra Pradesh due to ‘Nilam’ cyclonic storm, standing crops in about 77,000 hectares have been affected.

“Crops, mostly paddy, in 76,980 hectares are in water. It is not that all of that crop is damaged. Once the water recedes, the district officials would enumerate and send reports,” state Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy said in a briefing today.

‘Nilam’, which crossed north Tamil Nadu coast on Wednesday evening, weakened into a deep depression and further into a depression, causing widespread rains in Andhra Pradesh and south Karnataka.

Youth attacked in Engine Bowli area

Situation became tense after a youth was attacked last evening in Engine Bowli area of Falaknuma of the Old City. Rumour went round that it was a communal incident. Unidentified persons attacked Harish (25 years) and injured him. Mr. Hussaini Naidu, Inspector of Police of Falaknuma told that Harish was walking on foot and collided with a motor cycle.

Govt. is facing difficulties with the clarification offered by Ms. Ratna Prabha, IAS in Supreme Court. Govt. has issued notices to six Ministers and eight IAS officers instructing them to offer their explanations in connection with issuing 26 controversial GO’s. When Special Economic Zone was allotted to Ramky, Ms. Ratna Prabha was the Principal Secretary of Revenue Department and Mr. Dharmana Prasada Rao was Revenue Minister. Ms. Ratna Prabha in her note submitted to Supreme Court clarified that she was against giving exemption of stamp duty to Ramky.

Pakistani Taliban threaten to target MQM

Pakistani Taliban on Friday threatened to launch attacks on the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), the largest political party in Karachi, to “free the oppressed people of the city from the hold of the tyrants”.

The MQM has been a vocal critic of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and had organised a huge rally last month to condemn the Taliban attack on a 15-year-girl Malala Yousafzai in Swat valley.

MQM leaders also claimed that Taliban have sneaked into Karachi, its stronghold, and involved in terrorist and criminal acts.

Former DGP Mr. Mohanty’s two sons became IPS officers

Pak couple allegedly kill daughter with acid

Pakistani officials say police have arrested a couple for allegedly killing their 15-year-old daughter by throwing acid on her because she supposedly had an affair with a boy.

Local government official Masood-ur-Rehman says the couple was arrested Tuesday in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

Police officer Imtiaz Ali says the parents confessed to killing the girl a day earlier because they believed she had sullied the family’s honor.

‘Haryana has become rape state

Victims and witnesses of the 2002 Gulberg Society massacre alleged today in an affidavit before the Gujarat High Court that the special investigation team has been resisting evidence against police officers to be brought on record, and expressed suspicions about the SIT’s motives.

Sairaben Sandhi, a victim and one of Gulberg Society massacre’s prime witnesses, today filed an affidavit in the Gujarat High Court opposing the SIT’s petition challenging the trial court order.

Ajay Devgn complains to CCI against Yash Raj Films

Competition Commission of India (CCI) has received a complaint from actor-producer Ajay Devgn against Yash Raj Films for alleged abuse of dominant position ahead of the release of their films this month.

The production house YRF, however, denied monopolising exhibitors.

Devgn had moved the CCI claiming that YRF was using its dominant position to ask exhibitors to dedicate more screens to their upcoming release, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, than for his film Son of Sardaar on November 13.

iPhone 5 launched in India

The much-awaited Apple’s iPhone 5 hit the Indian market Friday after being launched globally Sep 21.

The smartphone has been priced at Rs.45,500 for the 16GB model, Rs.52,500 for the 32GB model and Rs.59,500 for the 64GB model.

iPhone 5 is the thinnest and lightest iPhone and features a new four-inch retina display and an Apple-designed A6 chip. It is 7.6 mm thin and weighs 112 grams, 18 percent thinner and 20 per cent lighter than iPhone 4S.

Former army chief may join parliament gherao on Dec 4

Former army chief V. K Singh Friday indicated he may join a sugarcane growers’ gherao of parliament on Dec 4.

“I am endorsing a call which is in the interest of farmers,” Singh said at a press conference in the capital.

Singh, who was accompanied by Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan (RKMS) convenor V.M. Singh, released a letter they had written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh rejecting the Rangarajan Committee report on freeing the sugar sector.

“We have written a letter to the prime minister about this issue. We believe there is enough scope for a revision,” he said.
