Permission granted to APPSC to conduct lecturers’ interviews

A.P. High Court has given permission to A.P.P.S.C. for conducting interviews for the post of lecturers to be appointed in degree colleges. However, High Court ordered the commission to conduct interviews after issuing the key and to release final results after it.

Last date of fees of open S.S.C, Inter is 8th November with fine

The last date of payment of fees with fine for open S.S.C and Intermediate examination is 8th November.

The examination will be conducted in April 2013. Late fee for S.S.C is Rs.100 and for inter it is Rs.700. Study material and books will be supplied. There are study centers in all the districts. Contract classes will be held on Sundays, Students can join any study center.

Notification for promotion of teachers in Hyderabad released

According to a press note issued by the Mr. Mohammed Abdul Aleem, President and
Mr. Nageswara Rao, General Secretary of Progressive Recognized Teachers’ Union of Telangana Branch, Hyderabad District, District Educational Officer of Hyderabad District has issued notification on 13th July for promotion of teachers in Hyderabad District.

Provisional list will be released on 10th and 11th November. Objections will be accepted on 12th November.

Hijack scare: AI pilot sticks to her stand

The woman pilot of the Air India flight involved in the hijack alarm case stuck to her stand that she was compelled to act as “a hijack-like situation” prevailed with protests by passengers after the Abu Dhabi-Kochi flight was diverted here on October 19.

The pilot, Rupali Wagmore, who was questioned for about two hours here on Wednesday, told the Special Investigation Team that three passengers had allegedly barged into the cockpit of the Air India Express flight and three others supported them.

Coal scam: CBI questions Nava Bharat Power directors

Central Bureau of Investigation today questioned the directors of Navbharat Power Limited – Trivikram Prasad and Hari Prasad in connection with the coal block allocation scam.

CBI had registered a FIR against Hyderabad based Navbharat Power earlier in September accusing the company for misrepresentation of facts during the allocation of the coal blocks.

Nine companies have been named in FIRs registered by CBI so far. “Promoters of some of these companies have allegedly sold their stakes in an irregular manner after allocation of coal blocks,” CBI statement earlier said.

World’s rarest whale seen in Pacific Ocean

The world’s rarest whale species – the spade-toothed beaked whale has been spotted for the first time by scientists of New Zealand in the Pacific Ocean.

“This is the first time a spade-toothed beaked whale has been seen as a complete specimen, and we were lucky enough to find two of them,” says Rochelle Constantine, from the University of Auckland, who led the study.

The best is yet to come, a triumphant Barack Obama said after winning a second term as US president and thanked “every American” that participated in the hard fought election.

Acknowledging the greeting of thousands of cheering supporters in Chicago, Obama, who defeated Republican Mitt Romney to get a second term in the White House, said: “We know in our hearts that for the United States of America, the best is yet to come.”

He congratulated Romney and his running mate Paul Ryan on a “hard fought campaign”.

‘Pak’s reference to Kashmir at UN attempt to divert attention’

India has taken strong exception to Pakistan raising the issue of Kashmir at the UN, calling Islamabad’s reference to Jammu and Kashmir at the world body a “blatant” attempt to divert attention from its dismal record of human rights in “Pakistan occupied Kashmir.”

In a General Assembly debate on ‘Right of peoples to self-determination’, Pakistani delegate Marghoob Salim Butt said the “struggle” of the people of Jammu and Kashmir continues and the state’s residents want their “voice to be heard; their aspirations respected; pledges to them honoured.”

Three injured in Manipur blast

At least three persons were injured when a bomb, planted by suspected militants to attack security personnel, exploded in Ghari Lamkhai area in Imphal west district of Manipur today.

The bomb went off at around 10 AM injuring three passers-by by its splinters. They were immediately taken to a nearby private hospital where their condition was stated to be out of danger.

According to preliminary police report, the bomb might have been planted in the wee hours by suspected militants to attack security personnel who used to pass through the area regularly.

Two killed in accident in Baripada

Two businessmen were killed and two others critically injured when the jeep in which they were travelling overturned in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district early Wednesday, police said.

The victims were returning from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand to Rairangpur when the vehicle lost balance near a sharp turn and overturned at Kaduani under Bahalada area, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Rairangpur) Santosh Das said.

PIL filed on compensation for incorrect electricity bills

A petition was filed Wednesday in the Delhi High Court seeking direction to the city government and a power distribution company to pay compensation for wrong bills raised on consumers.

The Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Sri Chand Jain, through advocate Sugriva Dubey also asked the court to issue directions to the government and other authorities to “stop the recovery of incorrect bills issued to the consumers”.
