(Siasat News)Y. Maheshwari, committed suicide by consuming pesticide after being scold by her parent for poor academic performance.

When her parent return from farm where they work as farm hand found her daughter lying unconscious.

Parent took her to the Osmania General Hospital where she was admitted in Intensive Care Unit (I.C.U).

According to Vikarabad inspector V. Lachi Ram, girl consumed pesticide kept at home on Tuesday evening when her parents were on work. She died at 2 a.m.

Mumbai violence was pre-planned, says BJP

Police as well as Maharashtra Home Department had “credible” information about possibility of violence at Azad Maidan during the August 11 protest organised by minority community groups, but they failed to take any step to prevent it, Opposition BJP claimed today.

“A woman residing in suburban Bandra had intimated Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 8 and 9) on August 9 through a letter that she has got credible information that some anti-social elements would indulge in violence (during the protest),” state BJP spokesperson Madhav Bhandari said at a press conference.

Apple scored a huge victory as a federal jury in California found rival Samsung guilty of “wilful” violations of a number of Apple’s patents and awarded it more than $1 billion in damages.

In giving its verdict Friday, the jury did not recommend awarding Samsung any money in its counterclaims that Apple had violated some of its patents, CNN reported.

While Apple praised the court for “sending a loud and clear message that stealing isn’t right”, Samsung said the verdict should be viewed “as a loss for the American consumer”.

Rajasthan panchayat bars girls from carrying cell phones

After girls in a Uttar Pradesh village were banned from using mobile phones about a month ago, a village panchayat in Rajasthan has prohibited minor girls from carrying mobiles and directed them to cover their heads when going out of home.

The village council has also ordered minor boys not to play music on their mobile phones.

The restrictions have been imposed in Kishorpura village near Udaipurwati town of Jhunjhunu district, some 200 km from here.

Stalemate continues for Engineering fees

(Siasat News)The stalemate between the Govt. and the private Engineering colleges is on the increase on the issue to determine engineering college fees.

Govt. has decided to fix Rs.50, 200 as per the court orders for some colleges whereas for the remaining colleges, the fees would remain Rs.35, 000 as decided earlier. The college managements plead that the fees should be uniform for all the Engineering colleges. They contend that by threatening them of the raids of task force, Govt. got the declarations signed for Rs.35, 000 fees.

Kashmiri students meet president

Students from Jammu and Kashmir met President Pranab Mukherjee Saturday as part of the Indian Army’s initiative towards national integration, officials said.

The students belonged to a school from remote Bandipora town of Jammu and Kashmir and were accompanied by students of a Noida school on their visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Iran’s talk with IAEA constructive: Iranian envoy

Iranian permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ali Asghar Soltanieh said the new round of negotiations between the Islamic republic and the IAEA was “constructive”.

The remarks came after senior IAEA officials met an Iranian delegation in Vienna on Friday, reported Xinhua citing Iran’s Press TV.

3 militiamen, over 20 militants killed in Pakistan clashes

At least three militiamen and over 20 militants were killed in clashes between Pakistani troops and militants in Pakistan’s northwest tribal area of Bajaur Saturday afternoon, reported Xinhua citing local media.

According to a report by local Urdu TV channel Geo, the clashes broke out at noon time when a group of Pakistan and Afghan militants attacked security forces in Salazai area of Bajaur Agency, a militant insurgent tribal area at Pakistan-Afghan border.

Russian firefighting plane to help Serbia

A Russian firefighting aircraft has reached Serbia to help the Balkan nation put out a number of forest fires.

The multipurpose, amphibious Beriev Be-200 aircraft landed in Nis city Saturday, an official said.

Over 250 fires have been registered in recent weeks in Serbia, where daytime temperatures hover around 40 degrees Celsius.

Earlier this month, Russia sent a Kamov Ka-32 helicopter to Serbia to assist in the firefighting effort.

The largest fire at present is going on in the mountainous Zlatibor region, a popular tourist area.

Academic failures and insults may have caused accused James Holmes to booby trap his apartment with explosives and plan the shootings during the “Batman” movie screening, US prosecutors have said.

In new information revealed in court in Aurora, Colorado, prosecutors said the 24-year-old Holmes had failed his June 6 oral exams.

He was told by a professor to “try another business”.

Holmes then “made threats”, which caused him to be banned from the University of Colorado, where he was enrolled as a neuroscience Ph.D candidate.

Veteran actor A.K. Hangal is dead

Bollywood actor A.K. Hangal passed away here Sunday morning after a prolonged illness aggravated by a recent hip fracture, a family member said. Hangal was 97.

“My father died around 9 a.m. The cause of death is mainly age-related and his lungs had also become weak and collapsed,” Hangal’s son Vijay, 76, told IANS.

“He died following lung and kidney failure after he suffered a hip fracture,” the actor’s physician Koulsoum Hossein told IANS.

“It is a great shock and loss to his family, admirers and the entire film fraternity,” said a family member at the actor’s Santacruz residence.

Will fire at anyone who resorts to violence: Gogoi

Guwahati: A day after five people were found killed in communal violence-hit Chirang district in Assam’s Bodo areas on Saturday, the state’s Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Sunday reportedly warned that the administration will open fire at anyone who resorts to arson and violence.

On Saturday, police said that five bodies were recovered from a paddy field in Choudhuripara near Mangolian Bazar in the district.
