Pune blasts a planned, coordinated act: Union Home Secy

The Centre today described the near simultaneous explosions in Pune as a planned and coordinated act.

Union Home Secretary R K Singh said forensic experts were examining the two unexploded IEDs and nature of the four blasts.

“Since the blasts have taken place within an area of 500 metres and within a span of 45 minutes, it appears to be a coordinated act. I am sure there was a plan behind it,” he told reporters here.

Probing all angles to find if terrorists behind blasts: Patil

Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil today said investigating agencies were probing all angles to determine whether any terror outfit was behind the low intensity serial bomb blasts that rocked the city last night.

“Whether it was a terrorist act or not will be determined only after proper investigations are carried out by Maharashtra ATS, city crime branch and central agencies,” Patil told reporters after visiting the four blast sites on J M Road here.

Police investigating suicide case involving India’s leading leisure travel service provider Raj Travels’ owner Lalit Sheth believe that financial problems might have led him to take the extreme step.

Reportedly, Seth had a debt of around Rs 5 crore which he had to pay to SBI.

Police sources also said that when Sheth failed to pay dues of another other two banks—HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank, an official liquidator was appointed.

Genocide of the Muslims in Burma & Assam

Minorities Sub-Plan inevitable for their upliftment

Former Minister and Chairman of AP State Congress Media Committee Mr. Mohammed Ali Shabeer congratulated Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy for his proposal to formulate a sub-plan of the State budget exclusively for Minorities. He told that it is inevitable for the upliftment of Minorities.

He told the CM that in order to raise the standard of living of 12% Muslims of the State and also for the eradication of poverty among them there is an urgent need of a Sub-plan for Minorities on par with the special component sub-plan allocated for SCs and STs.

Sewing machines distributed in Jambagh

Mr. Vikram Goud, State Youth Congress leader distributed 20 sewing machines in Jambagh Division of Gosha Mahal Assembly constituency to poor women on the occasion of his birthday with the cooperation of party in charge of the Division Mr. C. K. Murthy.

AP Urdu Council delegation meets the CM

A delegation of AP Urdu Council consisting of Mr. Syed Mujtaba Abedi (President), Mr. Mohammed Imtiaz and Mr. Mohammed Javed Patel met Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, CM of AP and presented to him a memorandum in which it was requested to inscribe Urdu on the sign boards of Govt. offices and RTC buses. The delegation also apprised the CM of its campaign launched to persuade the concerned to write Urdu on notice boards etc.

The delegation requested the CM to issue suitable instructions to the concerned officials for making arrangements to write Urdu on Govt. sign boards.

Day 5 of Anna fast: No word from government

Social activist Anna Hazare on Thursday continued with his indefinite hunger-strike for the fifth day at Jantar Mantar here, a day after his team opposed any forcible removal of fasting activists.

Notably, Delhi Police have written a letter to Team Anna saying that its members, including Arvind Kejriwal – fasting for the past nine days for a ‘strong Lokpal’, needed immediate hospitalisation.

10% of rural India lives on less than Rs 17 a day:survey ‎

Two decades of economic reforms and drum beating about inclusive growth seem to have failed to change the face of rural India as 10 per cent of the population live on less than Rs 17 a day.

According to a government survey released for 2011-12 on household consumer expenditure, “The poorest 10 per cent of India’s rural population had an average monthly per capita expenditure (MPCE) of Rs 503.49 per month.”

Anna Hazare’s fast enters day 5; no sign of talks with govt

Anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare today entered the fifth day of his indefinite fast for a strong Lokpal at Jantar Mantar with no sign of talks between Team Anna and the government to end the deadlock.

Delhi Police yesterday advised Team Anna to hospitalise Arvind Kejriwal and other team members as their health condition has worsened.

The police asked Team Anna to immediately hospitalise Mr Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Gopal Rai, who have been fasting since July 25, and warned that the organisers of the agitation will be squarely responsible if anything untoward happens to them.

SC Directs Govt To Implement Uniform Fee Structure For Engg Colleges

The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the State government to implement uniform fee structure for all the Engineering colleges in the State.

The Apex Court has ordered that there should not be difference between the fee of management and convenor quotas in Engineering colleges. The bench further directed the colleges and the State government that an average of both the fees, Rs 52,000 should be fixed as fee from this academic year. The court also ruled out any exemption for this year as pleaded by the State government as the fee reimbursement is becoming burdensome.

Trade diplomacy: India opens doors to Pakistan investment

(Siasat News)Union government on Wednesday permitted investments by Pakistan citizens and companies in India in the sectors other than defence, space and atomic energy.

The government reviewed the policy to boost the trade, bilateral relations and enhance economic cooperation.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh was removed from the list of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) in 2006 and 2007 respectively, Pakistan was the only country in the black list.

No Reason To Put YSR Photo In Gandhi Bhavan: Dy CM

Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Rajanarsimha has said that he does not see any reason or importance to place Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s photo in Gandhi Bhavan.

Speaking to the media here, Rajanarasimha said that in the Congress history, several leaders became Chief Ministers. But the decisions taken by late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy regime have become controversial. In his view, both YSR and T. Anjaiah were Congress Chief Ministers.

Actor Krishnudu Complains To HRC Of Attempts To Snatch His Land

Film actor Krishnudu has complained to the State Human Rights Commission that some persons were trying to illegally occupy the land he had purchased in Manikonda area. He urged the Commission to protect his interests.

Krishnudu said that he had purchased this land through his hard earnings along with 20 others of the film industry. He said that earlier some local leaders threatened them using the name of Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy’s son Kartik Reddy. He said though he had met the Home Minister, the issue was not resolved.
