Woman held for practising prostitution for Dh100

A 30-year-old Uzbek woman allegedly sneaked into the UAE from the Oman to practise prostitution, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

KK has been charged for offering sex to men against money.

First Sergeant Hamad Al Faqai testified that the accused confessed to him when entered the country illegally through Oman border two months ago. She also confessed that since then she had been working in prostitution. KK confessed that she used to charge Dh100 for offering herself for sex. The court will reconvene on September 13.

Goa alerts RAW about terror text message

Goa government today told the Legislative Assembly that the Research and Analysis wing (RAW) has been informed about the terror message, allegedly originating from Spain, which threatened to blow up Panaji and the coastal belt.

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said since the origin of the SMS was from Spain, the information has been shared with the Intelligence Bureau and RAW for further developing intelligence in the matter.

“The details are awaited,” he said, adding the district police, coastal police and crime branch have been sensitised and precautionary measures were taken by them.

Inscriptions of “Allah” and “Mohammed” (SAWS) on the stone

(Siasat NewS) A unique coloured stone has been acquired from Dargah Hazrath Qazi Mohammed Abdul Wali Quadri Rh., situated at Cherial in Warangal District. This stone has inscriptions of Allah (SWT) and Prophet Mohammed (SAWS). In addition to these names, there are other Quranic verses inscribed around this stone.

Wakf Board arranged Iftaar & dinner

(Siasat News) A.P. State Wakf Board has been arranging Iftaar and Dinner everyday for 150 person in Hyderabad and in districts.

Wakf Board had given contract to Mr. Syed Saleem for making Iftaar & dinner arrangements for 100 person but the number has increased upto 150. Persons passing through Haj House and a few Wakf Board employees join Iftaar & dinner.

Food is being provided for Rs. 30-40. This should have been Rs. 50 as the prices have gone up Mr. Saleem told that he is providing this service not to earn any profit but to serve people.

Recitation of the Quran for ladies

(Siasat News) Under the auspices of Muslim Women’s Welfare Association, recitation of the Quran session will be held from 8.30 a.m to 1 p.m on 5th August at Garden Plaza Function Hall, near Water Tank in Santoshnagar.

German tourist attempts suicide at Delhi airport

A 30-year-old German tourist tried to commit suicide by jumping off the departure area of the Indira Gandhi International Airport’s Terminal 3 Friday, police said.

Peter Helmet Seidel, who had arrived in India July 24 on a tourist visa, jumped from forecourt ramp around 1.30 am.

“Seidel was alone at the spot at the time of incident. He jumped down from forecourt ramp of the departure terminal,” police said.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital from where he was shifted to All India Institute of Medical Science trauma centre.

Seven injured in roof collapse

Seven people were injured, two of them seriously, when a roof collapsed on them in Rahul Vihar of Vijay Nagar area in Ghaziabad on Friday.

The injured were sellers who had set up stalls for the weekly Friday market and patrons who were buying from them, police said.

The apartment, belonging to Manglu Khan, was in a dilapidated condition, they said, adding that the seriously injured have been referred to a Delhi hospital.

Girl denied permission to study, kills self

A 19-year-old woman in Rajasthan on Friday killed herself by jumping in front of a train for not being allowed to study engineering, police said.

In her suicide note, Pooja Singh Kumawat said she was unable to pursue her dream of becoming an engineer because she was a woman, police said.

The incident occurred in Bhadara in Hanumangarh district, around 250 km from Jaipur.

“She was a first-year B.Sc. student in a private college. Her father is a milk supplier,” said a police officer.

Home Minister Shinde to visit Pune today

Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde would visit the blast sites in Pune on Saturday. “Shinde will visit the sites where the four blasts took place,” Maharashtra Minister of State (Home), Satej Patil, said.

Shinde would also review the security situation by holding a meeting with the top officers.

Four low-intensity explosions took place in the busy JM Road area in Pune on August 1.

Shinde, who took charge as Union Home Minister on the same day, was supposed to visit the city that evening, but the visit was cancelled.

Former minister and Telangana Nagara Samithi president Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy has alleged that gross injustice was being done to Telangana medical students in filling medical seats.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday, Dr Reddy demanded that the Kiran Kumar Reddy government fill the Medical seats based on the Universities to prevent injustice to Telangana medical students.

Protest against `Jism 2` in Assam

Alleging that the film ‘Jism 2’ had objectionable scenes, protests were staged at local cinema halls Friday where some movie-goers were also abused.

Police said a section of the audience who had entered theatres to watch the movie were chased and abused by protesters which included several local organisations and student bodies.

“We have taken action to ensure that such incidents do not recur,” police said.

A spokesman of the protesters Mousam Sarma said the film was for adult viewing but it was “surprising” that college students were allowed inside the cinema halls.

Indian boxer Vikas Krishnan who was earlier declared winner has crashed out of the games after the decision was reversed in the favour of his American opponent Errol Spence.

The 20-year-old Krishnan kept himself in medal reckoning in his 69 kg category bout by scripting a hard-fought 13-11 victory over Spence in a thrilling pre-quarter final contest.

“There were a total of nine (9) holding fouls committed by the Indian boxer in the third round alone. However the Referee only gave one caution,” the AIBA said in a statement after a review by its Competition Jury.
