“I have already sold the satellite rights. I sold it long time ago. We have worked on alternate scenes for TV viewing of the film.

We have alternative scenes for satellite and I saw to it, that it doesn’t go dirty,” Ekta told PTI.

Backward Classes Ikya Sangarakshana Samithi state president V G R Naragoni on Sunday demanded the all political parties reserve seats for BCs, minorities and Kapu community based on their population in the state.

Talking to media persons at the round-table conference in the Press Club, Naragoni said that injustice has been done to BCs, minorities and Kapu community in giving political representation since long. At least now, all political parties should give proper representation to BCs, minorities and Kapu community in their respective parties and take steps for their welfare, he stated.

Govt Whip condemns Centre’s nod for Reliance gas supply

Government whip and MLC Rudraraju Padma Raju on Saturday took serious note on the Central Government’s order giving permission to Reliance Gas to extend gas supply to the Ratnagiri power plant in Maharashtra.

Talking to media persons at Assembly premises, Rudraraju Padma Raju said that the decision would aggravate the power crisis in the State. Stating that the decision of Centre would hit 400 MW power production in the State, he appealed to the Centre to immediately withdraw its orders. He sought the intervention of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Sigh to resolve this issue.

TDP to stall Parliament over KG Basin Gas row

The opposition Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party today announced that its members would stall the proceedings of Parliament on the first-day of the coming session in protest against supply of gas from Krishna-Godavari Basin to Ratnagiri power plant in Maharashtra at the cost of the power plants in Andhra Pradhes. The supply of gas to Maharashtra will push the power-starved state into deeper crisis, he alleged.

Woman commits suicide; husband arrested

A woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging self from a ceiling fan at Sidhwan village of the district yesterday, police said here today. Police said Sandeep Kaur got married to an agriculturist Gurtej Singh of Sidhwan around five years ago. They had a daughter from the wedlock. Police arrested Gurtej Singh on the complaint of deceased’s brother and started investigation in this matter.

BJP seeks PM intervention in power crisis in AP

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today requested Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to restore gas to the gas based power plants and save the industries and agricultural sectors of Andhra Pradesh by issuing suitable guidelines to the authorities concerned. In a letter, addressed to Prime Minister a copy of which was released to the media here, BJP senior leader and former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said due to present short supply/power cuts to the industries in the state many of the small scale industries were closing down, owing to which the unemployment is increasing.

Pakistan fires small arms at Indian post

In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistan troops fired small arms at forward Indian post along Indo-Pak border in Arnia Sub-Sector of Ranbir Singh Pura area of this winter capital, a senior BSF official here said. “The Pakistan Rangers this evening fired small arms at our forward Kot Khuda post situated along International Border in Arnia Sub Sector from their Iqbal Shaheed post across the fence,” the official told UNI. He said the firing lasted for about 15 minutes but in breaks, adding that “we retaliated”.

Rs 50,000 loans of farmers to be waived off soon in UP

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav while discussing policies aimed at improving the lot of the farmers and the poor in the state announced that the loans of the farmers, who had mortgaged their lands and taken loan up to Rs 50,000, would be waived off.

The CM also announced that the Junior High School at Behta village in Bakshi Ka Talaab (BKT)in Lucknow would be upgraded into a Senior Higher Secondary School, a railway overbridge would be built over the Malhaur crossing and the BKT would be beautified.

State plans large scale revival of old temples

Endowment Minister C Ramachandraiah on Sunday informed that the State Government was planning to take up the repair and revival of old temples across the State at a large scale.

Talking to media persons after inaugurating the Panchayat office at G Reddyvaripalle in Sunduvalli mandal here, he said that the State Government was making all efforts to revive the old and historical temples in the State. He said old and dilapidated temples across the State would be revamped in order to restore their past glory.
