TDP, Party Of The Poor, Says Naidu

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has said that his was a party of the poor.

Some 100 members of the State Rajaka Sangham (washermen’s association) led by Parameswar and Chandrasekhar have met Naidu at the NTR Trust Bhavan, party’s headquarters here and thanked him for announcing 100 seats for the BCs in the next election and a separate plan with Rs 10,000 crores for their welfare.

Two Hacked In Kurnool Dhaba

Two persons were murdered in the Manasa Dhaba here on Friday.

According to police, four persons were attacked by their rivals with hunting sickles when they went to the dhabha along with friends. Two persons died on the spot. (NSS)

Three boys arrested in Gangrape case

Three boys involved in an alleged gangrape of a minor girl in Patna and circulating a porn CD and MMS of it were arrested from different places. Police said here today that some boys were involved in the alleged gangrape of minor girl in Rajbanshi Nagar locality of Patna a few days back and steps were taken to arrest the culprits when matter came to light. Main accused of the case Prashant had surrendered before a court in Shimla, while Rishav was arrested from Jalandhar, police said adding Arman, also involved in the crime, was nabbed from Jaitpur in Saran district of Bihar.

CM leaves for Srikakulam

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy arrived here today on a transit halt enroute to Srikakulam District to participate in the three-day Indiramma Bata. The Chief Minister who arrived on a regular flight left to Srikakulam by a helicopter after a brief halt at the VIP lounge at the airport. He was accompanied by State Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathi and Social Welfare Minister P Satyanarayana. He will visit Srikakulam, Amudalavalasa, Booja, Palakonda and Seethampeta mandals today and participate in the Indiramma Bata programme.

3 killed, 4 injured as lorry overturns

Three persons were killed and four others injured when a lorry in which they were travelling overturned on Chennai-Kolkata National Highway near Kanimetta village in Poosapatirega mandal in vizianagaram distirct this morning. According to police, the accident occurred when the driver of the lorry suddenly applied brakes after noticing a stationary vehicle in front of the lorry and the vehicle skidded off the road. One person died on the spot while two others succumbed to injuries while being taken to hospital.

Mentally Unstable landed at New Delhi From Riyadh without passport,travel documents

(Siasat News)A mentally unstable person landed the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) on board an Air India AI-925 flight from Riyadh on Wednesday without any travel documents, passport or a boarding card.

Even the person is unable to reveal his identity, same times he says his name Mohammad Khalil some time Ahmed Khalil.

When enquired whether he is a citizen of Saudi Arabia, came to know that he was not a Saudi national.

Antony to review security situation in Kashmir

Defence Minister AK Antony will review the security situation in Kashmir Valley during his two-day visit to the state beginning Saturday and also interact with troops deployed in the forward locations.

Antony’s delegation includes the Chief of Army Staff General Bikram Singh and the Defence Secretary Shashi Kant Sharma, a defence spokesman said.

He said that the Defence Minister will review the security situation in the Valley and also chair the Unified Headquarters meeting.

This is Antony’s first visit to the state in the last 18 months.

HC orders inquiry against goud on house sites issue

Andhra Pradesh High Court today asked the state government to initiate inquiry against TNGOs President Swamy Goud on the alleged irregularities committed by him in the allotment of house-sites to Telangana NGOs. The court passed orders after hearing petitions filed by the employees and directed the government to initiate action against Mr Gowd.

CPM leaders support stir against KSEZ

The CPI (M) Jatha, which began its tour of coastal areas at Srikakulam on July 20, today reached Kothapalli and went round Konapapapet and Uppada Kothapalli mandals where thousands of fishermen families are displaced due to large scale acquisition of land for Kakinada Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

Woman commits suicide along with two sons in Rajasthan

A 32-year old woman allegedly committed suicide by throwing herself into a well in Rajasthan’s Ajmer district along with her two sons aged 6 and 8 years, police said Friday.

According to police, the bodies of the three were found floating in the well around 2 a.m. Thursday in Hathikhera village of the district, some 150 km from Jaipur.

“The woman Sampatti Devi had lost her husband about five years ago. Her two sons, 8-year old Aryan and 6-year old Piyush, returned from school Thursday afternoon. The woman was spotted by her neighbours till late evening,” said a police officer.

Class three student kidnapped in UP for ransom

A student of class third was kidnapped in Ambedkarnagar district yesterday and a ransom of Rs 10 lakh was demanded for his release. A case was registered in this regard by the police and efforts were made to trace out the abductors and rescue the victim. Help of sleuths of Special Task Force (STF) was also sought by the local police in this regard. A police reports said Arun (8), a native of Sarai Jungle area of Ahirauli in Ambedkarnagar went to his school on Thursday morning. When he find that the school was closed due to rains he was returning home when some unknown youths kidnapped him.

Maruti manager paid for another officer’s remarks: Reports

The senior Maurti Suzuki executive, who was killed in the July 18 violence at the car factory in Manesar, paid for anti-worker remarks made by another executive, official sources said Friday.

Heated arguments between Maruti officials and leaders of the workers’ union had led to the violence in which the company’s human resources manager Awanish Kumar Dev was killed and nearly 100 other people were injured.

Probe against Jagan’s assets is still on: IT Dept

Chief Commissioner Income Tax Department J K Hota revealed that the scrutinizing of 12 to 13 files pertaining to YSR Congress President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s assets were in different stages and Director General Investigation has been entrusted the responsibility for the same.

While refusing to disclose further details about the ongoing investigations into Jagan’s assets, the Chief Commissioner also refrained himself to reveal anything about mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy’s investigation by describing it as a confidential matter.

SC adjourns petition on Engg fee to Aug 1

A division bench of Supreme Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing on a petition pertaining to uniform fee structure for engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh to August 1.

After hearing of petition, the two member bench consisting of Justice R M Lodha and Justice A R Dave posted the case for further hearing to August 1 following an appeal by the State Government seeking some more time to file affidavit in this connection. The State Government filed a petition in the apex court seeking uniform form for both convenor and management quota seats in the professional colleges.
