In case of partition of AP, Rayalaseema should be formed – TDP leader

Hyderabad, July 29: Senior TDP leader, Mr. B. Reddy Rajasekhara Reddy demanded separate statehood for Rayalaseema in case, AP State is divided. He asked Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu if he sends a letter to Central Government for the division of AP State, he should include the demand of Rayalaseema for a separate state. He also told that if need be, TDP members of Rayalaseema would resign from their party.

Who will meet your demands: Azam Khan asks Team Anna

Samajwadi Party leader Mohd Azam Khan today asked Team Anna as to who will meet their demands after they have exhibited “distrust” in the government and Parliament.

“When they have been accusing the President and the Prime Minister and exhibiting distrust in Parliament then from whom the said activists want their demands to be met?” Khan said while talking to reporters here.

On the strife in Assam, he said the delayed deployment of the Army led to the flare up in violence.

HM complaint against father for abuse of his Child

(Siasat News)Headmaster of a municipal school, Mr Ch. Subba Rao lodge a police complaint against father of class III student when he saw a burnt on his back. When he asked he said that his father beaten at home.

Headmaster of school took the child to private hospital and lodge a complaint.

As the mother of the child is ill and is on bed, he used to be angrier.

When the student went to the school Mr Subba Rao, noticed the bruises and enquired about them.

When child reveal the fact HM tried to counsel his father when he didn’t coorperate,he made a police complaint.

Centre ready to pass Lokpal Bill by consensus: Khurshid

Union Law minister Salman Khurshid has said that the Centre was ready to pass the Lokpal Bill by consensus and was making all efforts in this regard.

“The Lokpal Bill cannot be passed through agitations…We are ready to pass the Bill by consensus and all efforts are being made in this regard…Anna Hazare is ignoring the fact that UPA did not have a majority in Rajya Sabha”, Khurshid said talking to reporters here last evening after attending an ‘Iftar’ function.

EAMCET engineering Counseling to start on 6th August

(Siasat News)State Govt is seriously considering to start counseling for engineering stream of EAMCET on 6th August 2012.
Mr. Damodhar Narasimha, Dy. C.M. and Education Minister in secretariat yesterday convened a high level meeting to finalize the schedule of counseling and fixation of fees for engineering could be taken in the meeting regarding the enhancement of fees. It was adjourned for the next meeting. Final decision will be taken today.

The counseling schedule would be finalized in consultation with the representatives of engineering colleges.

RTC National Muzdoor Union withdraws strike

Rubath Nizam draw for Hajj Pilgrims’ accommodation

(Siasat News)Custodian of Rubath Nizam Hyderabad in Makka, Mr. Husain Mohammed Shareef took draw in the presence of Mediamen for allotting free accommodation in Makka to the Hajj pilgrims of erstwhile Hyderabad state. In all, 370 pilgrims were selected through the draw. At present, accommodation is available in both the Rubaths to the extent of 263 and 145 individuals. He clarified that the resident permit for the second Rubath is yet to be received from the civic body of Makka. This wiould be obtained by the end of Ramazan. Out of 408 seats capacity.

6 cops hurt as Delhi HC judge’s jeep collides with van

Seven persons, including six police personnel, were injured when the escort jeep for a Delhi High Court Judge was involved in a road accident here on Sunday, police said.

Justice V K Shali was returning to Madurai in a car after a pilgrimage trip to this island when the escort vehicle in wich six police personnel were travelling collided with a van.

The six police personnel and the van driver were injured and had been hospitalised, police said.

The Judge continued his journey after another escort team was arranged.

Afghan governor shot dead by Taliban

Talibani militants on Sunday shot dead a district head in eastern Afghanistan, an official said.

Mohammad Ismael Wafa was the governor of the restive Chak district, officials said.

Hi vehicle was overtaken and fired at by the militants when he was on his way to office. His son who was accompanying him also got injured in the firing but he is said to be alive.

The responsibility of the attack has been claimed by the Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid via an SMS.

Anna supporters protest outside Chidambaram’s house

More than 70 supporters of Team Anna were on Sunday detained when they staged a demonstration outside the residence of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram here.

The protesters raised slogans against Chidambaram and demanded an inquiry by a Special Investigation Team into the allegations of corruption against 15 Central ministers including him.

Police said the demonstrators were detained.

Following the protest, security has been tightened in the area.

The protest comes a day after Team Anna supporters staged a protest outside the Prime Minister’s residence in Delhi.

Rahul will do “very well” in govt or Cong: PC

Amid clamour for a larger role for Rahul Gandhi, Home Minister P Chidambaram has said that the young leader will do “very well” in government as well as the Congress.

“Why not? Gandhi can accept an office in government or in the party or in the House. I am sure that he will do very well in any of these places”, Chidambaram told a Malayalam news channel.

He was asked for his reaction on demand of several Congress MPs that Rahul be made the Leader of the House in the Lok Sabha.

Mild earthquake in Assam

An earthquake of mild intensity was today experienced in Assam and parts of the north-east.

The quake measured 4.7 on the Richter Scale, sources at the Meterological Centre here said.

The epicentre was yet to be ascertained.

There was no report of any damage.

88 killed in North Korea floods

Floods triggered by torrential downpour have killed 88 people in North Korea, the official KCNA news agency reported.

A total of 134 were reported injured and around 63,000 have become homeless in the past 10 days, Xinhua said.

More than 5,000 houses were destroyed and nearly 12,000 were submerged in floodwaters.

Embankment extending 160 km and 4,800 hectares of cropland were washed away.

BBC said South Pyongyang province suffered the biggest loss of life.

The KCNA said “big human and material losses” were caused between July 18 and 24.

Girl students sexually harassed by teacher in Bangalore

A case has been booked against a school teacher in Vijayanagar for alleged sexual harassment of his girl students. Some students of Sangamesha Vidya Kendra have accused Basavraj, a Hindi teacher, of detaining them after class hours on the pretext of special classes and trying to molest them.

The parents of one such student lodged a complaint with the Vijayanagar police on Saturday. The culprit Basavaraj is said to be absconding and a hunt is on to arrest him. Cases have been registered against him under IPC section 354 (relating to outraging modesty of woman).

Gandhian Anna Hazare began his fast-unto-death on Sunday at Jantar Mantar after his four-day ultimatum to the government to concede to his demands on Lokpal Bill found no response. His team members including Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Gopal Rai are already on an indefinite fast.

Anna, who had been sitting on a dharna along with his three fasting colleagues for the past four days, reached Jantar Mantar here this morning to slogans of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Inquilab Zindabad’.

Government Ready to hike the fee of Engineering from 31K to 35K

Protest outside PM’s house due to people’s anger: Hazare

Anna Hazare Sunday said the protest by his supporters outside Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s official residence was a reaction by the people who were angry at the government.

However, he advised all his supporters to “think before doing any such things”.

“People are fed up and angry as they have been suffering for so long. We should think before taking any such step as it involves the country’s prime minister,” Hazare told reporters here before beginning his indefinite fast at Jantar Mantar.

Man raped minor daughter, held

A man was arrested here for raping his 10-year-old daughter, police said Saturday.

Alamgir, 27, a divorcee and living in Sarai Kale Khan area in south Delhi, was arrested from the Nizamuddin area nearby.

His daughter lived with her aunt in Nizamuddin.

“During the school summer vacations, he brought her to his home. On July 22, he and his friend Kamaal, who is an autorickshaw driver, abused her sexually,” a police official told IANS.

Child can’t be forced to reside in stepmother’s company: Court

A child “cannot be forced to reside in the company of his stepmother and step-siblings,” a Delhi court has said, while refusing a man the custody of his minor son from his first wife after his remarriage.

Guardian Judge Gautam Manan declined the man’s plea for custody of his 13-year-old son from the first marriage and said, “The petitioner has remarried and also has children from the second marriage and thus the minor cannot be forced to reside in the company of his stepmother and step-siblings.”

Afghan governor shot dead

A governor of an Afghan district was shot dead by the Taliban Sunday, an official said.

Mohammad Ismael Wafa, the governor of Chak district, some 30 from Kabul, was on his way to office when militants opened fire at his vehicle, Xinhua reported. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

The 27-year-old Vijender, a bronze medallist in the Beijing Games four years ago, was a trifle cautious in the first round as he did not go for the attacking mode, preferring to gauge his opponent’s strategy but opened up subsequently to carve out a comfortable 14-10 verdict.
