SSC Marks sheet will depict grades instead of marks

In the marks sheets of SSC public examination, grades will be indicated instead of marks obtained by the candidates. Board of Secondary Education used to enter marks obtained by the candidates in their mark sheets.

A meeting was held in Secretariat yesterday to review it. The meeting was attended by School Education Director Mr. Shiv Shanker, Director of Governmetn Ecaminstion Mr. Manmoth Reddy, Principal Secretary of Secondary Education Mr. Rajeshwar Tiwari and other officials.

Yeddyurappa not to attend BJP National Executive Meet

Miffed over the party’s top brass sidelining him, sulking BJP Karnataka strongman B S Yeddyurappa today said he would not attend the party National Executive meet to be held in Mumbai from 24th May.

“I will not attend the party national executive meet,” Yeddyurappa, who recently pushed the party government to a crisis that had threatened its survival, told reporters here.

Yeddyurappa said he would tour the state after 30th May to know the pulse of the people and take an appropriate decision on his future.

The proposed plan for a possible merger of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia lays bare the abhorrence of the Manama and Riyadh regimes of the growing tide of the Islamic Awakening in their countries, a senior Iranian lawmaker says.

“The fear that has struck [the] Al Saud and Al Khalifa [regimes] is like the one held by the Zionists, and all of them are indeed worried about the wave of Islamic tendencies,” Fars news agency quoted Mohammad Karami-Rad, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran’s Majlis, as saying on Friday.

Bollywood rallied strongly behind superstar Shah Rukh Khan yesterday after he was banned from entering the Wankhede Stadium for five years following a spat with security officials on Wednesday night.

The 46-year-old actor and co-owner of IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has denied allegations that he was under the influence of alcohol and accused Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) officials of manhandling his daughter and other children. B-town took to Twitter to say that his action was justified.

RTC to ply special buses for Civil Services exam

In view of the Civil Services (Preliminary) exam May 2012, to be held on Sunday, May 20, RTC greater Hyderabad will ply additional buses during both the sessions i.e. 9:30 am to 11:30 am and 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm at major places of the twin cities.

Dowry case against vigilance inspector

(Siasat News): A dowry harassment case was filed against a vigilance inspector from Nalgonda by the Banjara Hills police.

One Mr. Sudheer, who got married to Priyanka in 2009, kept arguing with his wife over dowry. Both the families decided to settle the issue but a tiff erupted.

After the incident, Priyanka’s parents lodged a dowry harassment complaint against Mr. Sudheer. Further investigations are on.

Four die in helicopter crash

Four Air Force personnel were killed and another injured on Friday when their helicopter crashed during exercises in the western state of Yaracuy, Venezuela’s Defence Minister said.

The aircraft, a Russian-made MI 17, was at an altitude of about 10 meters when it suddenly plunged to the ground, General Henry Rangel Silva told state television.

An investigation is under way to determine the cause of the crash, he said.

“The government has targeted people who have raised their voice against rampant corruption and I am no exception,” he told reporters after a two-day yoga camp at Arjun stadium here.

Ramdev said he has been served several notices since he started the crusade against blackmoney.

Three hurt in Kashmir grenade attack

Three people, including two policemen, were injured on Saturday morning when militants hurled a grenade at a police station in North Kashmir’s Sopore town, police said.

“Militants lobbed a grenade at Sopore police station around 9 am. The grenade exploded outside the police station, injuring two constables and a civilian. The injured have been shifted to a hospital,” a senior police official said.

He said searches were going in the area to trace the militants.

Panic gripped the area after the explosion.

‘Wait and see’, says Pranab on Presidential polls

“Wait and see” was the cryptic reaction of Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee to a host of questions on the issue of next President of India.

“My answer is very simple. Wait and see”, Mukherjee said in reply to the question by reporters on the issue of Presidential elections.

The name of Mukherjee, who is also the leader of the Lok Sabha is prominently doing the rounds as a presidential candidate along with the Vice-President Hamid Ansari.

Ajay Devgn-Kajol to make film on female foeticide

Bollywood star couple Ajay Devgn and Kajol have associated themselves with the Maharashtra government’s campaign against female foeticide. Devgn’s script for a social awareness film has been approved by the state’s health department.

Qadeer’s release petition filed in the High Court

The petition filed by Siasat for the release of former police constable Abdul Qadeer has been admitted in AP High Court for hearing. Qadeer has completed 22 years imprisonment. Qadeer’s wife Ms. Sabera Begum filed the petition in consultation with Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor Siasat. Molestation case: Luke Pomersbach to appear in court today

Luke Pomersbach, the Royal Challengers Bangalore player, who was arrested and later got interim bail on Friday on charges of molesting an American woman, will again appear in a Delhi court on Saturday.

The court will decide whether the Australian player’s bail should be extended or he should be sent to police custody.

The Australian cricketer, arrested on charges of molesting an American woman in a hotel Thursday night, was on Friday granted interim bail for a day by the Delhi court.

Newborn girl killed by father, step-mother

A man and his first wife allegedly killed a newborn girl from his second wife by poisoning the infant before strangulating her and throwing her body in a river in Morena, police said.

The incident occured at Jaderua Ka Pura village under Noorabad police station six days ago but was reported to the police on Friday.

According to police, the accused, 25-year-old Rajveer Gurjar and his first wife Munesh, did not have any child, which is why he got married with Lalo Gurjar without divorcing Munesh.

MCA may have to bear cost of SRK ban fallout
