Bal Thackeray slams Shah Rukh for ‘misdemeanour’ at Wankhede

Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray on Saturday criticised Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan for what he termed was his ‘misdemeanour’ at the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday night and backed the Mumbai Cricket Association’s (MCA) decision to ban him from the stadium for five years. Lashing out at Shah Rukh Khan in his party mouthpiece ‘Saamna’, Thackeray said Shah Rukh was insulted several times by the US security officials, but he kept quiet then.

Badal asks Centre to allow wheat export

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today asked the Centre to allow export of wheat from Punjab.

Whenever there is an acute shortage of foodgrains in the country, Punjab is always reminded of its obligation towards the national food pool, Badal said.

“On the contrary, whenever there was surplus production as now in the case of wheat, the Centre pays no heed to our requests, which is tantamount to its sheer discrimination against Punjab,” the chief minister said.

26000 school dropouts or child labours identified

26000 children have been identified in the state, who have dropped out of education or working as child labours. They will be enrolled under Rajiv Vidya programme during the academic year 2012-13. These children will be admitted in various government schools and madarsas in different phases. They have been explored with the help of NGOs. Majority of the children have come to the state from Tamilnadu, Rajasthan, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and other states in search of work.

Congress defends GOs to attach Jagan’s properties

Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson N Tulasi Reddy on Saturday accused YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy of trying to get mileage on the GOs issued to attach his properties.

Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Tulasi Reddy said that the government issued the GOs to prohibit sale, pledge and transfer of ownership of various properties of Jagan Mohan Reddy and his associates apart from helping the CBI in investigations. He said that the government kept the attachment of properties issue confidential as the GOs has to get its nod by the CBI Special Court.

Two Saudi sisters had thought of embarking on a small venture which does not exist in their area in the conservtive Gulf Kingdom so they can invest their savings before deciding on opening a women-only coffee shop.

Nuwair and Namsha had feared that their “Romantic Café” could not be as profitable as they had expected when they put all their savings into it.

“Our fears were baseless as the café has won the admiration of women in the area,” Nuwair said, quoted by Kabar newspaper.

Most of Jeddah’s water bottling factories are in poor condition: Official

Most of the water bottling factories in Jeddah are in substandard conditions and the methods used to treat water are not in compliance with the Kingdom’s health codes, said Saeed Bajubair, a member of a committee at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry that oversees water factories.

Bajubair said 80 percent of water bottling factories sell water taken from the government’s network of desalinated sea water without treating it.

Pomersbach granted bail

RCB player Luke Pomersbach, who was on Friday charged with molestation by an American woman, has been granted interim bail by a Delhi court.

Papaya (peeled and cubed), 1/4 cup
Watermelon (seeded and cubed), 1/8 cup
Mango (peeled and cubed), 1 small
Orange (peeled and sectioned), 1 small
Banana (peeled and cubed), 1
Pineapple (peeled and cubed), 1/4 cup
Lemon Juice, 2 teaspoon
Honey, 1 tablespoon
Lemon Rind, 1/2 teaspoon
Plain Yoghurt, 1 cup
Sugar, to taste
Chaat masala, to taste

Procedure:
Blend the yoghurt and honey smoothly. Refrigerate it for about 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, mix all the fruits. Add the lemon juice, lemon rind and sugar to the mixture.

Mom shot while on way to collect sons’ bodies

A Pakistani woman was injured and three men accompanying her were killed when they were shot at while on their way to a morgue in Karachi to collect the bodies of her three sons who had earlier been fatally shot, a media report said on Saturday.

While a son of Zuleikha, 58, was killed last Sunday, two of her sons were shot dead on Wednesday. She was on way to collect their bodies when the attack was carried out by six men who then fled, police said.

Girl accuses boy of rape, making obscene video clips

A 20-year-old girl has accused a boy, with whom she was allegedly having an affair, of rape and making obscene video clips of her, police said in Jaipur today.

In an FIR lodged at the Bajaj Nagar police station last evening on a court’s directive, the girl alleged that her neighbour Rahul Singh Shekhawat raped her and shot the obscene clips with the help of his brother Manish a few days back.

She also named Rahul’s sister Pooja Singh and mother Shakuntala as the other accused in the FIR.

Govt promises to sort out problems of AI pilots within 3 months

16 Muslim pilgrims dead as bus collides with truck

Saudi beheads man for Bangladeshi’s murder

Saudi authorities on Thursday beheaded a man for murdering one Bangladeshi man and stabbing another during a bid to rob them, the interior ministry said.

Sultan Al Sahli, a Saudi, was convicted of killing one of the Bangladeshis with a blow to the head, and stabbing and wounding the other, said the ministry, cited by state-run SPA news agency.

Sahli wanted to steal their mobile phones and money, it said.
