Jagan must personally attend court

The CBI court has on Monday made it clear that the YSR Congress Chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy who was facing disproportionate assets case must positively attend the court on May 28.

When Jagan’s lawyer has asked the court if his client’s personal appearance was necessary or if he could be represented by a lawyer, the Judge clarified that Jagan should personally appear on the day as it would be his first appearance in the case.

I will leave cricket if found guilty: Rahul Sharma

India and Pune Warriors player Rahul Sharma on Monday said he will stop playing cricket if his blood test returns positive for drugs after the leg—spinner was detained at a rave party in Mumbai.

Sharma along with Pune Warriors team—mate Wayne Parnell were among the 94 people detained by the police after a raid at Hotel Oakwoods in Juhu, Mumbai.

“I know I am innocent, if the reports (of blood tests) are positive, I will leave cricket,” Sharma said, adding that the team management has full trust in them.

The player’s blood test report is expected in the next couple of days.

NASA estimates how long Titan’s chemical factory has been active

In a new study, scientists have attempted to estimate how long the chemical factory in Saturn’s giant moon has been operating in the atmosphere.

Titan hides within a thick, smoggy atmosphere that’s well-known to scientists as one of the most complex chemical environments in the solar system.

It’s a productive “factory” cranking out hydrocarbons that rain down on Titan’s icy surface, cloaking it in soot and, with a brutally cold surface temperature of around minus 270 degrees Fahrenheit, forming lakes of liquid methane and ethane.

TV actors claim innocence after rave party raid

Television actors and real life couple Apoorva and Shilpa Agnihotri were also among the ones who were booked Sunday night when cops busted a rave party in Mumbai.

The couple denied any drugs angle and while talking to the media they categorically said that they did not do drugs.

Around 96 people including 38 women, mostly foreign nationals were detained by the police on Sunday night. The police claimed it to be a rave party. The two international cricketers, Rahul Sharma and Wayne Parnell, who play in the IPL for Pune Warriors India were also detained and questioned.

Recipe: Roasted chicken with lemongrass butter

A hassle-free route to tasty roasted chicken.

Ingredients

50 g butter, softened
1 tbsp pureed lemongrass
15 g thyme, leaves only
1 x 1.5kg whole chicken
1 bulbs garlic, cut in half
1 tbsp olive oil

Method

Preheat oven to 180C/160C.

Mix the butter in a small bowl with the lemongrass paste and half the thyme. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Ease your hand under the skin of the chicken at the neck opening and smear the herb butter under the skin. Place the garlic inside the cavity. Rub all over with the oil, season and place in a roasting tray.

Paternity suit: HC asks Tiwari to give blood sample on May 26

Congress leader ND Tiwari was on Monday asked by the Delhi high court to appear in person on May 26 before it to give blood sample for a DNA test to decide the paternity suit of a man claiming to be his son.

“Defendant number 1 (Tiwari) is directed to appear on May 26 at 12 noon along with his two photographs,” Joint Registrar of Delhi high court, Deepak Garg, said, adding that the court should not rush to take police assistance for enforcing its order.

Pomersbach has confessed to his crime, say investigators

Investigators on Monday claimed that Australian cricketer Luke Pomersbach, arrested on charges of molesting an American woman, had told them that he inadvertently touched the victim and was under the influence of alcohol when the incident took place. Police sources also said that the name of Royal Challengers player KP Appanna has cropped up in the case after he was identified in a CCTV footage. He was allegedly seen accompanying Pomersbach to the room of the victim.
