The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) on Monday launched a new plan ‘Jeevan Vaibhav’ on the traditional platform.

Addressing a press conference, LIC Zonal Manager AK Sahoo said that the ‘Jeevan Vaibhav’ would a single premium non linked insurance plan where the risk cover is the Sum Assured which is almost double the premium chosen by the customer and offers guaranteed returns at Maturity. The plan, which is an ideal combination of Insurance and Returns, would be available for a limited period only up to a maximum of 120 days.

Prohibition and Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana on Monday announced that the new Excise Policy would be ready for implementation by July this year.

Briefing the media about the discussions that took place during the meeting of Cabinet Sub-Committee held at the State Secretariat here on Monday, the minister said that the proposed policy would ensure transparency and it would be free from all the loopholes found in the existing policy. AP State Road Transport Corporation’s new Managing Director AK Khan on Monday expressed confidence that he would be able to take the corporation from losses by inducting professionalism in the organisation.

Addressing a press conference after assuming charge, AK Khan said that the corporation employs over 1.30 lakh employees and counts among the biggest public sector units in Asia. However, he said the corporation was presently running into losses of nearly Rs 430 crore per annum. He said by inducting professionalism and improve public services, the losses could be converted into profits.

TRS MLA K T Rama Rao on Monday accused Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of making statements against Telangana state formation in order to please a section of Seemandhra leaders.

Talking to media persons at TRS Bhavan, Rama Rao said that the Chief Minister was issuing statements belittling the Telangana state in order to favour a particular community in Seemandhra region. Stating that Kiran Kumar has become the Chief Minister due to the support of that particular community, he said that he has been making those statements fearing loss of their support and his post.
