Wineries body for take over of retail liquor trade

State Wineries and Distilleries Association has urged the State government to take over all Liquor retail operations and run them itself on par with Tamilnadu, Kerala and Delhi.

In a press release, the association President Niranjanlal Agarwal stated that the common man must get IML/ Beer at MRP and affordable rate. The government can strictly implement MRP by installing necessary CCTV cameras if required. The retail operations can be entrusted to a BPO on area wise basis covering not more than 50 to 100 outlets.

DY CM releases new inter textbooks

Deputy Chief Minister C. Damodar Rajanarasimha on Saturday released the new editions of Intermediate first year Science and Mathematics textbooks of Telugu Academy.

Speaking to the media after releasing the books in his chamber in the Secretaraiat, Rajanarsimha said that the government was examining the court verdict directing re-examination of Physics paper of Intermediate. He said that price hike of Intermediate textbooks was necessitated due to improved quality of paper and colors.

Alleging that the YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has hatched a conspiracy to create violence in Hyderabad during the CBI inquiry into his amassed assets, the Congress Legislature Party has said that the State government and police have foiled his conspiracy.

Addressing the media at CLP office here on Saturday, the government Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy said that nothing will happen to the party with one or two MLAs leaving it. He questioned Jagan as to why he was not responding on the allegations he was facing and as to why he has applied for interim bail.

3 YSRC activists held for plotting to torch 100 buses

Cyberabad In-charge Police Commissioner Rajiv Ratan on Saturday said that YSR Congress activities were planning to let loose vandalism in the State capital and outskirts in the event of the CBI taking their party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy into custody.

Speaking to media persons here, Ratan said that the Miyapur police have arrested three YSR Congress activists in this connection. He said that the accused were plotting to set RTC buses on fire in the city if Jagan was arrested. A large number of bottles filled with petrol were seized from their possession.
