Jilted lover commits suicide in front of his girlfriend

An engineering student hanged himself to death after an altercation with his girlfriend on Saturday night in Bangalore.

24-year old Haisnam Jakoi, a student of Chandapura based Bangalore College of engineering, was feeling ignored and
abandoned by his girlfriend who was with him for last three years.

He was depressed as his girlfriend was neither taking his call nor answering his desperate messages for last one week.

On Saturday night, Jakoi’s girlfriend came to his flat and they entered into heated exchange of words over some issue.

TDP confident of winning Parakala seat

AP gets quota of 5,764 pilgrims for Haj 2012

The Haj Committee of India on Sunday allotted a quota of 5,764 for Andhra Pradesh for the Haj 2012.

Of 5,764, as many as 1,418 pilgrims have already been declared selected under two reserved categories of 70 plus years and 4th timer applicants. The Qurrah (Draw of Lots) will be held on May 10 to select the remaining 4,346 units, according to SHC Executive Officer Abdul Hameed. This year’s quota is 373 less than the previous year.

Three of a family commits suicide

Three members of a family committed suicide by consuming some unknown poison at their residence in Yellareddypeta village of Adilabad district.

According to Nirmal (Rural) police, the deceased – Peddasomanna (60), his wife Bhagiratha (50) and daughter Sunitha (20) were found dead on Sunday morning at their residence in Yellareddypeta village of Nelayipeta gram panchayat. They are suspected to have consumed poison on Saturday night.

CFSL officer among three arrested for cheating

Three persons, including a senior scientific officer of Central Forensic Science Laboratory and an employee of Revenue department, were on Sunday arrested for allegedly entering into a criminal conspiracy and cheating people by posing as CBI officials and demanding bribe.

16 suspected militants killed in Yemen airstrikes

Sanaa, Four Yemeni airstrikes on Sunday killed six suspected al-Qaeda militants and wounded two others in Lawder district of Abyan province, two security officials told CNN.

The Defense Ministry said that 10 other suspected militants had been killed in the province’s Zinjibar district since Saturday morning.

The ministry said that the strikes were targeting two locations: a militant hideout and a training site.

Unmanned drones carrying deadly poison could be used in a terrorist attack during the Olympic Games, a senior army officer has warned.

With more than 10,000 thalassemic children being born in India every year, experts believe that the largely incurable blood disorder can be easily prevented through greater awareness.

May 8 is globally celebrated as ‘International Thalassemia Day’. It is an inherited blood disorder in which the red blood cells contain a reduced amount of haemoglobin, or in severe cases, a lack of haemoglobin in the cells. Thalassemia can range from mild to life threatening and therefore should be monitored.
