Radha flays TDP for serving notice on Vamsi for meeting Jagan

Former MLA Vangaveeti Radha Krishna, who recently joined the YSR Congress has said that TDP was finished in politics.

Talking to media persons here today, Radha Krishna said that people were not giving credence to the baseless allegations of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu against Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He also faulted the TDP for giving show-cause notice to its Vijayawada Urban unit president Vallabhaneni Vamsi for a casual meeting with Jagan. Stating that he had met Chandrababu Naidu n 2004, he said no one gave him any notice then.

1,146 children missing from Jan till April 15, 2012 in Delhi: Home Ministry data

Is Delhi safe? No says the Union Home Ministry’s data which disclosed that as many as 14 kids go missing in the Capital daily.

Safety issues have been pitched earlier too but always in context to some or the other woman but no one ever noticed that 5,111 children disappeared in the city last year, as per the data issued.

And to everyone’s surprise, 1,146 children have already gone missing till April 15 in 2012, as per reports. Situation becomes worse as the data also said that there is no trace of 1,359 of the 5,111 missing children in 2011.

‘Nicolas Sarkozy got 50 million euros from Gaddafi’

A document has been made public in Paris that says French President Nicolas Sarkozy received 50 million euros (around $65 million) from slain Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi that propelled Sarkozy to power in 2007, the Daily Mail reported.

French law bans candidates from receiving cash payments above 6,300 pounds, but a news website claimed that the massive donation was laundered through bank accounts in Panama and Switzerland.

1.4 lakh jobs in railways next year: Mukul Roy

Railway minister Mukul Roy on Sunday said that 1.4 lakh people would be recruited in the railways next year.

“In the coming year, 1,44,000 people will be employed in the railways,” Roy said after laying the foundation stone of a road over bridge and foot over bridge at Nalhati in Birbhum district.

More than 75,000 jobs were created in the railways in the past six months and more people would be recruited, he said.

Maoists will release audio tape over resignation: Hikaka

Three days after being freed by Maoists, Odisha MLA Jhina Hikaka on Sunday said the ultras are likely to release a fresh audio message which could clear the air over his possible resignation as a legislator.

“A new audio tape is likely to be released by the Maoists shortly. It will remove all confusion relating to my resignation. Everything will be clear,” the 37-year-old ruling BJD MLA from Laxmipur, said.

Suspended Telangana MPs to boycott House on Monday

Congress MPs from Telangana region, who were suspended from the Lok Sabha last week for disrupting the proceedings, have decided to boycott the House on Monday.

“We will boycott the House tomorrow. We will announce our next course of action on Wednesday,” Congress MP Madhu Yashki Goud told PTI after a meeting of party MPs.

In an unprecedented action, eight Congress MPs from Telangana were suspended last week for four days from Lok Sabha for disrupting the house. Their suspension ends on April 30.

Narasimhan happy about second innings

Governor E S L Narasimhan has expressed his happiness at the extension he has received and thanked the Centre for reposing confidence in him.

Talking to media persons at Raj Bhavan along with his wife, Narasimhan said that he had developed affinity with Andhra Pradesh and was happy that he would be able to serve the State longer. Describing the extension as his second innings, Narasimhan said he would strive to serve the State to the best of his ability.

Mega Lok Adalats settle over 20,000 cases in two days

As many as 20,455 Compoundable Criminal and Petty Civil cases were settled in the Mega Lok Adalats held across the State on Saturday and Sunday.

The Mega Lok Adalats were conducted in 17 districts in the State as per the instructions of Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh Madan Bhimrao Lokur.

Palvai accuses T-Cong MPs of blackmailing Sonia

Rajya Sabha MP Palvai Govardhan on Sunday asked the Congress MPs from the Telangana region to change their mode of protest to achieve statehood for the region.

Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party office, Govardhan said that the recent protest by eight Congress MPs from the region in the Lok Sabha led Congress president Sonia Gandhi to believe that she was being blackmailed to take an early decision on Telangana. He said the behaviour of Lok Sabha MPs did not look like an appeal, but it was more like a protest done by opposition members.

Youth drowns at Kakinada beach, 3 others feared dead

Rajahmundry: A 20-year-old student of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) got drowned at Kakinada beach on Sunday, while three of his friends are also feared dead, police said.

A massive search has been launched to trace the three missing youths, they said. According to police, the deceased identified as R Rajendra Prasad, who hailed from a village in Guntur district, had gone to play volleyball at the beach with a group of around ten friends from JNTU.

Renuka slams T-Cong MPs after meeting CM

In a surprise move, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday called on Rajya Sabha MP Renuka Chowdary at latter’s residence at Banjara Hills.

Renuka Chowdary, however, described the visit as a courtesy call which lasted for about one-and-a-half hour. She said they did not discuss politics during the meeting.
