It is imperative on the part of any researcher that he should review the research work done earlier by other research scholars. Only then, his research work will be termed as complete. These thoughts were expressed by Prof. Syeda Jaffer, former Head of the Dept. of Urdu of Osmania and Hyderabad Central University on the occasion of book releasing ceremony of Dr. Shamsul Huda’s book “Fikani Zariya” (Angles of thougth) a collection of his essays.

INSAF organization of Hyderabad in a press note issued yesterday said that the announcement of the Chief Minister of A.P. Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy for the enhancement of marriage subsidy from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 25,000 is only an eye-wash and pretentious. It is a consolation given to the Muslims keeping in view the elections of 2014. It has been the tradition of the Congress Party that it makes false promises and shouts pleasing slogans to appease the Muslims in order to safeguard their permanent vote bank the Muslim voters.

(Siasat News) Muslim will not get reservation in political circles unless they raise their voice through continuous struggles. There is a need to launch a protest campaign to seek political reservations in order to enter the portals of Assemblies and Parliament. Communal elements evolve various strategies to stop the Muslims from reaching the policy making political bodies. Keeping the situation in mind, the Muslims should evolve their strategy for struggling to get political reservations.

(Siasat News) Siasat and Minorities Development Forum are offering short term summer vocational courses. A meeting of the incharges of centres was held at Siasat office yesterday under the chairpersonship of Mr. Khadija Sultana, Convener, Ladies wing of M.D.F. Applications were invited from various welfare organization of the city for organizing summer courses for imparting vocational training. She said that MDF will provide guidance for organizing these vocational courses. MDF has been active in this field for the past 10 years. It has established branches in Hyderabad and the districts.

(Siasat News) Former Minister Mr. Mohammed Ali Shabbir has been nominated Chairman of A.P. Congress media committee. Mr. B. Satyanarayana, APCC President issued orders after consulting the chief minister of A.P.

It may be recalled that for taking part in the conferences and teleconferences of APCC , a media committee consisting of 36 members was nominated taking 18 legislators and 18 other members.

Mr. Shabbir was nominated as convener of the media committee earlier. Now his status has been elevated and he has been made chairman of Congress media committee.

(Siasat News) A.P. State Haj Committee received nearly 17,000 applications for Haj 2012. It is said that state Haj Committee will get nearly 6,000 pilgrims’ quota this year. In 2011, the quota fixed was 6,222 which was later increased to 7525. It is expected that after including Govt. employees’ quota, nearly 8,000 pilgrims from the state will get an opportunity to perform Haj this year.

At least 10% applicants fall under the reserved quota which includes persons aged 70 and above and those who could not be selected for the past three years.

Three months after several Congress MLAs were disqualified and crossed over to the YSR Congress, the Election Commission on Tuesday ordered by-elections to be held on June 12 to fill the vacancies to 18 Assembly and the Nellore Lok Sabha constituency.

Lashing out at the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) for stating that the BJP had colluded with the ruling Congress party in suspending the Telangana Congress MPs, the State BJP president G Kishan Reddy has said that the BJP was not interested to take part in the street play enacted by the Telangana Congress MPs in the Parliament.

Osmania University History Department Professor Adapa Sathyanarayana has been invited to attend an International Conference at Seoul National University, Korea. He will participate in the Asian World History Congress, to be held from April 27 to 30.

According to a press note, Prof. Sathyanarayana’s paper entitled ‘Migration of Telugus to Burma and Dubai in the Era of Globalisation’ has been accepted for presentation.

CID police have taken Bhanu Kiran, prime accused in the murder of Rayalaseema faction leader Maddelacheruvu Suri, into its custody here on Wednesday.

On the request of the CID, a city court has permitted custody of Bhanu Kiran for nine days. The court has directed the investigating agency to interrogate him only from 10 am to 5 pm and without using third degree methods. They have also to interrogate him in the presence of his relatives or lawyer.

There are 15 cases pending against Bhanu Kiran, the main one being Suri’s murder. (NSS)

Parents of Intermediate second year students have staged a dharna at the Intermediate Board office here on Wednesday, protesting that the physics paper was not in accordance with the blue print of the syllabus.

The CBI Special Court has accepted the plea of auditor Vijaya Sai Reddy, second accused in the illegal assets case against Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, to transfer his bail petition to the court of another CBI judge Naga Maruti Sarma.

Judge Nagamaruti Sarma was heading this Special Court when Vijaya Sai Reddy was granted bail. However, he was transferred to the Second Additional Special court as three more courts were established. Judge Pullaiah was posted in Judge Naga Maruti Sarma’s place.

Congress senior leader and Parliament Member V Hanumanta Rao has alleged that Mangali Krishna who is co-accused in the murder of faction leader Maddelacheruvu Suri, has close links with the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
