Civil engineer arrested for stealing software

The city police has arrested a civil engineer hailing from Mumbai for stealing and tampering of propritery software from the computer of a reputed company. In a release here, police said, the accused, Vivek Gharad, a resident of Mumbai, was arrested on April 2 in Mumbai. On interrogation the accused confessed that he had stolen the said software from the complainant’s company while he was undergoing training in the said organization.

Young church pastor brutally murdered

A 35-year-old young church pastor was brutally murdered by unidentified persons who slit his throat with a sharp-edged weapon at Jerrela village of GK Veedhi mandal in the district today. The District Rural Police said, S Dumbu alias Bingo, of Dumbriguda mandal, settled as church pastor in Jerrela a few years ago. His wife Janaki is living with him, while their sons are studying at Chintapalle village. In the early hours, a masked man knocked door of Dumbu’s house and told him that Maoists were waiting for him to discuss an issue.

ACB arrests Liiquor syndicate leader

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested the leader of a liquor syndicate Balagouni Balraj here yesterday while he was on his way to Kolkata from Bangalore. A ACB release this evening said, Balaraj had been absconding since January 27, 2012. The liquor syndicate leader, who was a toddy tapper, went on to become an arrack contractor and finally a person to be reckoned with in liquor business, the release said. He owned seven bars and restaurants in twin cities and 28 wine shops in and around Hyderabad and in Mahabubnagar and Medak districts.

Modi demands ban on cow slaughter across India

Police registered a case against film hero Nikhil Reddy for cheating a businessman.

Nikhil Reddy has reportedly taken Rs. 50 lakhs as loan from a business man. When he has asked for the money the hero is alleged to have threatened him with a gun. The businessman has lodged a complaint with the Narayanaguda police on Wednesday. Police are searching for the hero after registering a case against him.

Gandra dares Naidu for debate on power tariff

Late Libyan dictator Colonel Muammar Gaddafi raped countless women during his years in power, according to an explosive new documentary.

German broadcaster RTL is set to screen the controversial programme – which includes interviews with his inner circle – next Monday.

Reporter Antonia Rados said; ‘There were many women in Libya spellbound by Gaddafi who wanted to meet him. And when they did he raped them.’

She said that his female bodyguards, who were supposed to lay down their lives to protect him, were also victims.

Woman Raped Inside Moving Taxi In Mumbai

Mumbai police have arrested two persons, Sachin Sonawane and Lalu Jaiswal, on the charge of raping a woman inside a moving taxi.

Police said, on Ramnavami night, the two accused gave the woman in Dadar a lift in their taxi.

For nearly four hours, the two raped the woman in turns, and abandoned her at some place in Parel at around 2:30 am. The woman reported the matter to Dadar police station the next morning.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who had recently figured on Time magazine’s cover, is “manipulating” the magazine’s ongoing online survey to decide the 100 most influential people in the world, state Congress chief Arjun Modhvadia alleged on Wednesday.

Talking to reporters in Ahmedabad, Modhvadia said, “Modi has sent hundreds of emails through various portals of Gujarat government to the people, asking them to vote for him at the Time magazine’s online survey.”

Tendulkar gets injured in IPL 5 opener

Sachin Tendulkar sustained a finger injury in his left hand and retired hurt when he tried to fend off a rising delivery from Chennai Super Kings’ bowler Doug Bollinger in the opener of the Indian Premier League’s fifth season here on Wednesday. However, it is still not clear whether it is a fracture or a simple bruise.

It was the fifth ball of the ninth over and Tendulkar, who was batting on 15, got a short ball from Bollinger. The ball climbed onto him as the delivery hit one of the green patches and reared up uncomfortably. Tendulkar could just fend it off as it hit him on the glove.
