As per a newspaper report, the measures are part of the Black Money Committee Report. The Committee, constituted to examine ways to strengthen laws to curb the generation of black money in the country, its illegal transfer abroad and its recovery submitted its report on January 31.

Multipurpose identity cards of GHMC issues for the handicapped

Govt. concentrates on publicity – TDP blames congress

2 cases of Swine Flu reported in AP

Two fresh cases of Swine Flu have been reported from two private hospitals here, a top health official said on Tuesday.

“Two H1N1 positive cases have been identified and they include a male and a female. The patients are admitted in private hospitals and their condition is stable,” Andhra Pradesh State Coordinator for Swine Flu Dr Subhakar said to sources the today.

Allaying the concerns, Subhakar said there was no need to panic as such sporadic cases are reported intermittently.

School Girl raped by classmates

In a shocking case, a 16-year-old was allegedly raped by a group of classmates. The boys had accompanied the girl to the pilgrimage twon of Rishikesh, where the incident took place, reports news agency Press Trust of India.

The girl’s parents were informed about the incident. All the boys who committed the crime were known to the girl and studied with her in the same school.

The police is investigating if the boys had forced the girl to accompany them to another town.

Couple held for smuggling heroin in stomach

An Asian man and a woman who managed to smuggle 361 heroin capsules inside their stomach fell in the police grip as they tried to sell the stuff.

Acting on a tip off, police sent an undercover to the man to buy the heroin at a car park in the emirate. When he was paid, police were on him.

He confessed to have smuggled the heroin inside his stomach and led police to his partner, a woman of the same nationality.

Man burns wife to death failure to bear him a child

Distraught over his wife’s alleged failure to bear him a child, a 37-year-old man burnt his spouse alive on Sunday. She succumbed to her burns early on Monday morning. The incident happened at the couple’s home in Rushinagar of Amraiwadi area.

Dinesh Rathore and Ramila (35) had entered into a love marriage 15 years ago. They, however, remained childless for a long time.

They consulted numerous doctors and even visited several religious places to be blessed with a child, but to no avail. For this, they had been frequently fighting for the past 10 years.

School bus with 45 kids falls in canal, 4 dead

Four students were killed and 15 went missing when a school bus fell into a canal near here in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday, police said.

The bus, carrying 45 Lower KG and Upper KG students of Sai Teja Public School and its own staff overturned and fell into the Godavari river canal near Ganti Pedapudi village.

Court to hear Jafri’s fresh petition today

A Gujarat court is likely to hear a fresh petition filed by Zakia jafri, wife of slain Congress MP Ehsan Jafri on Wednesday in the Gulbarg Society case. The petition was filed by Zakia Jafri and Teesta Setalvad-led Citizens for Justice and Peace seeking the copies of the SIT report filed

in the Gulbarg case stating that they have an apprehension that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has not filed the complete report in the case as directed by the apex court.

They also want to know whether they will be allowed to read the SIT report in the courtroom or not.

CBI arrests architect for Shehla Masood murder case

In a major breakthrough, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday arrested a Bhopal-based architect Zahida Pervez in connection with the murder of RTI activist Shehla Masood in August last year.

Pervez is presently in the CBI custody and is believed to have informed the investigators that she had some personal rivalry with the RTI activist.

Pervez had also confessed before the CBI officials that she had hired a contract killer to get Masood eliminated. However, the person who allegedly shot at the RTI activist was later killed in Kanpur.

Russian woman held for trying to sell son

A Russian woman has been arrested after she attempted to sell her five-year-old son for 300,000 rubles (around $10,000), officials said.

The woman from the far eastern Khabarovsk region was arrested Tuesday, the regional investigation committee said.

Investigators said the woman asked for 800,000 rubles (around $27,500) for her son but the amount was reduced after negotiations with the buyer.

The woman also has a seven-year-old daughter, who is being cared for by her grandmother.

Taliban say down US helicopter, kill 10

Taliban militants claim they have downed a US military helicopter in Afghanistan’s eastern province of Nuristan, killing at least 10 people.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said on Tuesday that the militant group was able to bring down a US chopper as it was flying over the volatile region where the Taliban have a large presence.

The United States military officials in Kabul have not yet commented on the claim.

The incident marks the latest in a string of attacks on helicopters belonging to the US-led forces in Afghanistan.
