Juhi too old for SRK?

Mumbai, January 04: Once known as Chirpy Chawla, Juhi Chawla laughs at the idea of working with the Khans of today.

In an interview to a daily, Juhi revealed her prospects of returning to the silver screen. On being asked if she would prefer working with Shah Rukh Khan, the actress giggled and said that she is too old to work with him.

For Juhi, pursuing acting is a better option than dabbling in business.

Bomb scare at Taj Mahal!

Agra, January 04: The city police swung into action on Wednesday after it received a call claiming that a bomb has been placed inside the Taj Mahal complex.

As per initial reports, the police control room received a call this afternoon in which the caller claimed that a bomb had been placed at the world heritage monument.

Bomb disposal squads are at the spot and are conducting an intensive combing operation.

More details are awaited.

Sexual exploitation :Ashram owner held

Jaipur, January 04: Rajasthan police have arrested the owner of an ‘ashram’ on charges of sexually exploiting children belonging to poor families, police said Wednesday.

Ram Singh, 35, the owner of Eklavya Ashram in Hanumangarh town, some 400 km from Jaipur, was arrested late Tuesday after the parents of several children approached the district administration accusing him of sexually exploiting their wards.

Late Mohammad Abdul Rasheed Qureshi was a talented and experienced lawyer and was a simple righteous person.

He was the senior most advocate of city civil court. He was a humble personality.

Husband, wife arrested in a murder case

Kamareddy, January 4: Police arrested husband and wife involved in murder case and sent them to remand. DSP Kamareddy Gangadhar Rao told that Swami and his wife Bhagya Lakshmi attacked Sampat after a row between them over 750 rupees.

Sampat died in the attack. After which Police arrested the couple and sent them to remand.

Body found at Jubilee Hills

Hyderabad, January 4: A body found at Jubilee Hills area created flutter. On the receipt of information by the locals police reached the spot and inspected the bag. The body was shifted to the morgue and investigations are on.

Police Jubilee Hills told that the body could not be identified. Police sources told that somebody had flung the body tied up in the bag and fled.

Scores of policemen stay here including companies of Central Reserve Police Force. Boarding and lodging arrangement for the said policemen has been made in the cellar of Hajj house.

Policemen are sighted roaming around in undergarments after having a bath regardless of the presence of a large number of Muslim women who reach there to obtain Nikahnama or to submit scholarship forms.

Saudi: Now female staff to sell women’s lingerie

Jeddah, January 04: From Thursday, only female staff will be able to sell women’s lingerie in Saudi Arabia, ending decades of awkwardness in the ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom where women are expected to don black cloaks at all times out of the home.

“I and many other women like me were always embarrassed to walk into lingerie shops because men were selling the goods,” said Saudi shopper Samar Mohammed.

She said that in the past she often bought the wrong underwear “because I was sensitive about explaining what I wanted to a man.”

Court hears final arguments in Salem‎ passport case

Hyderabad, January 04: Final arguments were today heard in the alleged fake passport case, involving extradited gangster Abu Salem, in the special court for CBI cases here. The prosecution (CBI) submitted its arguments and explained to the court about the alleged conspiracy of Abu Salem to obtain three passports (including one for his wife and girlfriend Monica Bedi) from the Hyderabad Regional Passport Office in connivance with some government officials and private persons in 2001.

3 held for burglary in cloth store‎

Hyderabad, January 04: Three persons, who gained entry into a cloth store and stole Rs four lakh cash and a licenced revolver, were arrested by the Saifabad police on Tuesday. One of the arrested was a former employee of the store, police said.

The burglary took place in Big Bansal’s shop located in Basheerbagh on October 10 last year. The offenders took away Rs four lakh cash and a .32 licensed Revolver belonging to� Dinesh Kumar Bansal.

Slaughter a cow and go to jail for 7 years

Bhopal, January 04: A person found guilty of cow slaughter in Madhya Pradesh will now face imprisonment of seven years, against the earlier three, and a minimum fine of Rs 5,000.

The government had passed the Amendment Bill in the Assembly in 2010 to strengthen the existing cow slaughter prohibition Act (Madhya Pradesh Gauvansh Pratishedh Adhiniyam 2004) and forwarded it to the Union Home Ministry in 2010.

The bill received the Presidential assent and was published in the Madhya Pradesh gazette on December 31, 2011. The Act will soon come into force through an official notification.

Hyderabad, January 04: Deputy mayor Raj Kumar told Express that he will strive for a clean, green and slum-free city by taking the support of all the political parties and citizens.

“I want to make sure that Metro Rail works are taken on and see that public transport is within the reach of the common man. The metro rail will contribute towards reducing air pollution and traffic congestion in the city,” he added.

2011 setback year for Modi: Court Verdicts

Ahmedabad, January 04: The year 2011 will be remembered in Gujarat for verdicts related to the Godhra train burning incident and the riots that followed.

A trial court awarded death penalty to 11 people and life imprisonment to 20, nine years after the incident in which 59 people, mostly karsevaks died. The carnage triggered riots in the state killing over 1,000 people, mostly Muslims.

Another major verdict came in one of the post-Godhra riots case of Sardarpura village in Mehsana district where the special court sentenced 31 people to life imprisonment.

Tehran, January 04: Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi says Israel is the source of all the problems in the region and the Zionist regime is based on sedition and division.

Salehi made the remarks during a meeting with the head of the Turkish-Palestinian Parliamentary Friendship Group of Turkey, Murat Yildirim, in the Iranian capital Tehran on Tuesday.
