Hyderabad, January 07: TRS President KCR considers Telangana as his Jagir. He wants that whenever he runs the movement all the leaders should join him and when he falls asleep they should also go to sleep and get astray from the movement. Mr. P. Mumbai, January 07: Bollywood actress Dia Mirza was today fined over Rs 1 lakh for carrying undeclared items worth Rs 2 lakh upon her arrival at the international airport here, a senior Customs official said.
The actor landed at the airport at around 2 am from Bangkok by a Thai Airways flight.
“She was passing through the green channel (used by passengers not having any dutiable goods to declare) when she was stopped and asked to show her baggage,” he said.
New Delhi, January 07: Former Union Minister Sukh Ram, convicted in a 1993 telecom scam and ordered to surrender, is not in a state of coma, doctors attending on him said, contradicting his counsel’s submission in a court here that he cannot move from hospital as he is in a coma.
“It may be clarified that Shri Sukhramji was never in coma while in hospital,” Dr Wasi U Khan, Medical Superintendent, Metro Heart Institute, Lajpat Nagar, where Sukh Ram is admitted, said in a statement.
New Delhi, January 07: Over 10,800 policemen faced punishment ranging from dismissal to an explanation call on charges of corruption and dereliction of duty in 2011, with the figure being ten times higher compared to previous year.
According to Delhi Police Annual Report 2011, 162 policemen were dismissed last year including two whose services were summarily terminated.
A total of 1,303 policemen faced punishment, including 35 dismissals, in 2010.
New Delhi, January 07: A fire broke out at Shastri Bhavan in the national capital on Saturday morning.
According to reports, the fire started at around 9.30 am in the MTNL office located on the first floor.
Eight fire tenders are at the spot to douse the fire.
So far, there are no reports of any loss to life.
Shastri Bhavan, located in the heart of the capital in the NDMC area, houses several ministries and other government offices.

Hyderabad, January 07: (Siasat News) General Secretary of CPI A.B. Bardhan told that his party would support countrywide agitation against the anti-people policies of UPA Govt. He was talking to newsmen at Makhdoom Bhavan yesterday. He said that CPI would launch agitation to highlight irregularities in land distribution and on food and unemployment issues in order to exert pressure on the Govt. He also said that the constitution of CPI would be amended in the Lucknow convention to be held from 27th to 31st March 2012.

Islamabad, January 07: The ruling Pakistan People’s Party has decided to hold the general election and the polls to the Senate ahead of schedule against the backdrop of rampant speculation that the government may not be able to complete its tenure, according to media reports on Friday.
A meeting of the top leadership of the PPP chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani yesterday decided to hold elections to the Senate or Upper House of Parliament in mid-February instead of March 11 as scheduled, the Dawn newspaper quoted an unnamed PPP leader as saying.

Kuala Lumpur, January 07: A 53-year-old Muslim man has been fined Rs. 7,000 by an Islamic Shariah court in Malaysia for divorcing his wife inside a car, media reports said on Friday.
Hasbullah Hashim was charged under Section 124 of the Islamic Family Law Act for divorcing outside the court without permission.
The Malay daily Harian Metro said that Hashim, a training manager had lost his temper and proclaimed the divorce three years ago while in a car with his wife.
Islamabad, January 07: Former president Pervez Musharraf has said he plans to return to Pakistan from self-exile on January 25 or 27 as he is confident that he will be acquitted in all the cases filed against him in the country.
Musharraf, who has been living outside Pakistan since April 2009, said he would reach Pakistan on January 25 or 27.
The former military ruler said about 600 persons from across the world would accompany him on his return.
Ahmedabad, January 07: The CBI formally took possession of the documents and other items of evidence in the Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case and began further investigations. The CBI has constituted a team especially for the investigation of the fake encounter case.
Earlier, the CBI had registered an FIR in the case with the agency’s special crimes unit at Mumbai. So far, the agency has registered a case against 20 Gujarat police officers on the charge of murder and destruction of evidence.
New Delhi, January 07: The family of Pune’s Anuj Bidve, who was killed in Manchester on Boxing Day, is bringing the 23-year old’s body home. They are expected to arrive in Mumbai via a British Airways flight on Saturday morning.
Bidve’s parents visited the spot where he was shot dead, in Salford, on Friday. His father has appealed for justice.
One local, a 20-year old man, who calls himself Psycho Stapleton, has been charged with Bidve’s murder, in what the UK police have called a motiveless crime.

New Delhi, January 07: It’s another crucial day for Home Minister P Chidambaram in the 2G scam trial. A key witness on Saturday is expected to submit documentary evidence against Chidambaram in the court.
Chidambaram was the Union Finance Minister when the 2G scam took place.
Earlier, in December last year, the witness had told the Delhi court that Chidambaram should be made an accused in the 2G case as he had jointly taken the decision of spectrum prices with former telecom minister A Raja, the key accused in the case.

Hyderabad, January 07: The garden of Rashtrapati Nilayam at Bollaram in Secunderabad will be opened for public viewing from January 7 to 12 between 10 a.m and 5 p.m.� The visitors at the entry point will be allowed up to 4 p.m and entry will be through Gate No:2, a Rashtrapti Bhavan press release said.
The garden has been developed as an eco-friendly complex, which mainly comprises a landscaped garden, beautiful road scaping, different seasonal flowering plants.
Hyderabad, January 07: The role of Muslims in India’s freedom struggle has not been portrayed properly in history books, feels Union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Addressing a public meeting organised by Jamiat Ulama-I- Hind as a part of its second state-level meet here on Thursday night, he said though Muslims were not behind others in the fight for independence, the facts had not been properly highlighted in history books and text books.
Jamiat had called for non-cooperation against the British in 1920, and was also against the Partition, he noted.

Hyderabad, January 07: Mohammed Asghar Ali, the prime accused in the Haren Pandya murder case who was acquitted by the Gujarat High Court in August last year and subsequently arrested in a different case in Hyderabad was granted bail by the Eighth Metropolitan Sessions Judge at Nampally court on Friday.
Police had arrested him on October 23 as he walked out of Sabarmati Central Jail in connection with the case in which he is alleged to have helped a murder accused, Mirza Fayyaz Ahmed Baig, escape from the police custody in 1998.
