Mosque Set on Fire in Northern Israel

Jerusalem, October 03: A mosque in an Arab village in the Galilee, northern Israel, was set on fire in the early hours of Monday morning in what police said was an arson attack, and its walls were defaced with Hebrew graffiti. The perpetrators were widely suspected of being Jewish extremists.

The fire caused “serious damage” to the mosque in the village of Tuba-Zangariya, according to Micky Rosenfeld, a police spokesman.

Hundreds stranded on roads in T Agitation

Hyderabad, October 03: Hundreds of passengers were stranded Monday as buses coming from coastal Andhra towards Hyderabad were stopped at the border of the Telangana region in view of threats from groups fighting for a separate Telangana state. Over 50 private buses coming to Hyderabad from Vijayawada and other
towns in coastal Andhra were stopped by authorities at Garikapadu checkpost on the border between Krishna and Nalgonda districts.

Hundreds of passengers had been stranded from 4.30 a.m. as private bus operators alleged that the Nalgonda police had refused to provide them an escort.

12 hours of fraud marriage, Saudi divorced

Riyadh, October 03: A Saudi man divorced his wife barely 12 hours after marrying her. According to ‘Okaz’ newspaper, the groom apparently received a marriage proposal from the brother of the bridegroom whom he had seen. He claimed to be the guardian of the 26-year-old girl as she had no father.

After the wedding ceremony the new couple headed to a hotel in Riyadh. When the bride took off her veil the man was shocked to learn it was not the woman he had seen and agreed to marry.

Youth commits suicide over alleged harassment by financers

Hyderabad, October 3: A youth hanged himself to the ceiling and committed suicide allegedly due to financers’ harassment. According to Tappa Chabutra police 29 year old Dheeraj Kumar resident of Guddimalkapur hanged himself to death yesterday night.

Dheeraj Kumar’s father lodged a complaint at Tappa Chabutra police in which he alleged that few private financers were harassing his son and unable to bear their constant harassment Dheeraj Kumar committed suicide.

Tappa Chabutra police has registered a case in this connection.

Melbourne, October 03: A 16-year old Lebanese Australian girl has been placed on a nationwide airport watch list to stop her being sent to Lebanon against her will for an arranged marriage.

In what a magistrate has called an ”act of great bravery”, the girl sought a court order to stop her parents taking her out of Australia to marry a man she has met only once.

The girl, who cannot be named, approached the Legal Aid Commission in Sydney after her parents organised the wedding despite her saying she did not want to marry the man.

New Delhi, October 03: As TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao brought the Telangana issue to New Delhi, holding a sit-in at Rajghat, and as the shutdown in Andhra Pradesh entered the 20th day, the Congress was veering around to the idea of bifurcating the state.

Israeli mosque torched in apparent price tag attack

Jerusalem, October 03: A mosque in northern Israel was torched overnight with slogans scrawled on its outside walls, in what police on Monday denounced as “a very severe price tag incident.”

Police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld told Agencies that a number of suspects entered the mosque in the Bedouin village of Tuba Zangaria in the Upper Galilee and set fire to it, causing heavy damage to the carpets and walls.

On the outside of the mosque were scrawled the words “price tag” and “revenge” in Hebrew, Rosenfeld said.
