Hyderabad, September 06: Following the arrest of former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the multi-crore mining scam, Home Minister P Sabitha Reddy, former Belineni Srinivasulu Reddy and two senior IAS officials are also likely to face the wrath of CBI, reliable sources told INN. Both Sabitha and Belineni held the mines portfolio in YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s cabinet.
Visakhapatnam, September 06: Senior leader of Telugu Desam party Dadi Veerabhadra Rao on Monday demanded that the YSR Congress party president Jaganmohan Reddy be arrested for colluding with former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the multi-crore mining scam.

Hyderabad, September 06: Taking credit for the arrest of former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy on Monday by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the multi-billion illegal mining scam, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu said it was his party which brought the entire scam to the nation’s notice.
Describing Gali’s arrest as a ‘good sign’, the TDP president held both the State and Central Governments responsible for ‘looting’ of crores of rupees due to illegal mining in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
Hyderabad, September 06: Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu called upon the teachers to play a pivotal role in establishing a value-based society.
Talking to media persons after felicitating the Best Teachers on the occasion of Teachers Day at NTR Trust Bhavan here on Monday, Naidu said the eradication of poverty and value-based society was possible only with teachers. He stressed the importance of teachers in making the society free of all evils, including corruption.
New Delhi, September 06: Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Monday alleged that social activist Anna Hazare was a “mask for the RSS like yoga guru Ramdev” and was being used to divert attention from the arrest of Sangh members in terror cases.
The Lokpal issue, Mr. Singh told journalists here, was raked up “to divert the attention of the people from the arrests of various RSS activists in connection with terrorism and others in corruption cases.”
“They [BJP and RSS] formulated this plan. First they made Baba Ramdev as its mask and them Anna,” he alleged.
Libya, September 06: A Libyan rebel leader who was rendered to Tripoli with the assistance of MI6 said on Monday that he had told British intelligence officers he was being tortured but they did nothing to help him.
In a claim that will increase the pressure for further disclosure about the UK’s role in torture and rendition since 9/11, Abdul Hakim Belhaj said a team of British interrogators used hand signals to indicate they understood what he was telling them.
“I couldn’t believe they could let this go on,” he said. “What has happened deserves a full inquiry.”
Lucknow, September 06: A member of underworld don Chota Rajan’s gang was found dead with bullet wounds in Dhurpur area here, a top police officer said today.
“A bullet-riddled body was found near a factory in Iradatganj village yesterday,”said UP Special DGP Brij Lal here.
With the help of mobile phone found near the body, he was identified as Abu Sahma alias Osama of Jaunpur, an active member of the Chota Rajan gang, Lal said.

Also, he said it was irrelevant if Manmohan Singh survived as prime minister and the party would accept anyone chosen by Sonia Gandhi as premier.
The cable comes in the face of Singh’s recent demand for Rahul Gandhi to become prime minister.
Hyderabad, September 06: Organisers of a Ganesh puja at Basheerbagh turned the premises like a casino in Hyderabad. Police arrested several business men for involving in betting at the premises in Lakhs.
According to the police, they have got the tip from a person who lost lakhs in betting at the venue. When police surrounded the venue the premises resembled like a casino with air conditioners,drinks and food for the gamblers. There were 20 tables and 120 chairs to play three card game.

Ahmedabad, September 06: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday flayed ‘pseudo-secularists’ for resorting to vote-bank politics, and cautioned Muslim community members from falling prey to them. Modi also said that vote-bank politics was the reason why Muslim community was lagging behind in education and development.
Modi made the comments at a programme organised by Ajmeri Charitable & Education Trust and Ajmeri Muslim Samaj to felicitate bright students. A large number of students, including girls, and members of Ajmeri Muslim community were present at the programme.

Washington, September 06: “The Muslim community and peace activists in different parts of America have been victimized by the climate that unfolded in the United States [after] 9/11,” Mauri Saalakhan, the director of The Peace through Justice Foundation, said in an interview with Press TV’s US Desk on Saturday.

New Delhi, September 06: In order to persuade a sulking Mamata Banerjee, the Central government on Monday said that no Teesta water sharing accord will be signed with Bangladesh without the West Bengal Chief Minister’s consent.
Giving clarifications on the issue Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai said that no pact will be signed with the neighbouring country without consultations with the West Bengal government.
The Foreign Secretary confirmed that Mamata Banerjee will not be accompanying the Prime Minister to Bangladesh which he will visit tomorrow.

“I have said this earlier also that people like Singh should be put in ‘Yeravada’, (a well known place in Pune housing a government mental hospital),” Hazare told reporters when asked about his reaction on Singh’s comment.

Bronx, September 05: A decomposed body was found stuffed inside a suitcase on a Bronx street Sunday, sources said.
The unidentified body was discovered by cops on Needham Ave. near Wilson Ave. in Williamsbridge after a neighbor called about 3:30 p.m. to report the luggage appeared suspicious, the sources said.
It was not clear how long it had been since the suitcase had been dumped on the block, but the body was decomposed, a source said.
The city medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to try to identify the body and find the cause of death.
