290 more Haj pilgrims selected under discretionary quota

Hyderabad, September 09: Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Ahmadullah Minister for Minorities Welfare announced that the Ministry of External Affairs has declared 290 Haj pilgrims confirmed under Government Discretionary Quota enabling them to perform Haj this year.

The Minister said that these 290 pilgrims have been selected by the Ministry, which has released the list on time, which in turn facilitated all the selected pilgrims to fulfill the required formalities.

Hyderabad, September 09: Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammad Ahmadullah on Thursday directed the higher officials of various departments to provide best services to the Haj pilgrims.

Holding a day-long review meeting with all departments concerned, the Minister asked the officials to ensure that the pilgrims do not face any difficulties, both at the time of their departure from Hyderabad and arrival back home. CBI raids MP Lagadapati’s brother offices

Hyderabad, September 09: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday conducted raids on Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal’s brother Lagadapati Sridhar’s offices at Madhapur in connection with the investigations into the Emaar and Y S Jaganmohan Reddy cases.

The CBI sleuths conducted the raids in morning hours at his Jubilee Media offices and seized key documents and records.

20 passengers injured in bus-lorry collision

Hyderabad, September 09: At least 20 persons sustained injuries when an APSRTC bus collided with a stationary lorry near Rampalli in Keesara mandal in Rangareddy district. The accident occurred in the wee hours of Thursday.

The police said that the mishap took place when the RTC bus of Kushaiguda bus depot coming from Rampalli RTC colony in Kesara mandal to Secunderabad hit the stationary lorry laden with cement bags from the rear side. In the mishap, the front portion of bus was completely damaged.

Gali’s custody, bail petitions hearing adjourned for Friday

Hyderabad, September 09: The CBI Special Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing on custody and bail petitions of former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy and managing director of Obulapuram Mining Corporation (OMC) B V Srinivas Reddy, to Friday.

The hearing was adjourned following the court’s boycott call given by Bar Association of India to protest against the bomb blast at Delhi High Court on Wednesday, which claimed 11 lives and injured 91 others.

TRS seeks Muslim support for Telangana

Hyderabad, September 09: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Thursday sought the support of Muslim community to intensify the movement for achieving statehood for Telangana region.

Interpol red notice warrant for Gaddafi

Amsterdam, September 09:The International Criminal Court prosecutor said on Thursday he is asking Interpol to issue red notice arrest warrants for Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi, his son Saif al-Islam, and intelligence chief Abdullah al-Senussi.
The ICC issued arrest warrants in June for all three for crimes against humanity.

ICC prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo said he wants Interpol to issue a red notice to arrest Muammar Gaddafi for the alleged crimes against humanity of murder and persecution.

“Arresting Gaddafi is a matter of time”, he said.

Owaisi meets pm to raise unmarked graves issue

Hyderabad, September 09: With mainstream Kashmiri politicians reluctant to raise questions about the mass graves, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday took the demand for a high-level probe into the issue to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s doors.

Owaisi met the PM at his Parliament office and handed over a memorandum to him in which he demanded that the Centre should initiate a process to identify the people buried.

The PM, Owaisi said, assured him that he will take up the matter with Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah since it was “a humanitarian issue”.

I don’t know if Lord Jonathan Sacks, chief rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth, has any connection with – or gives support to – the Alinskyian community organizing affiliates of Great Britain but his thought is certainly appreciated – and often quoted –by the Alinskyites.

Anna serves notice to Manish Tiwari

Pune ,September 08 :Manish Tewari’s public expression of regret for his outburst against Anna Hazare has failed to cut much ice with the anti-corruption crusader, who today sent a legal notice to the Congress spokesman seeking a written apology for calling him corrupt from “head to toe”.

Hazare’s lawyer Milind Pawar sent the notice by email and registered post to Tewari on the instructions of the Gandhian.

Pawar had earlier said a defamation case would be filed against the Congress MP in a Pune court for casting aspersions on Hazare.

Now “huji ” sends email claiming responsiblity

New delhi,September 08 :Another mail was received by media houses in Mumbai and Delhi purportedly written by one ‘Chotoo’ of the Indian Mujahideen who claimed responsibility for the Delhi High Court blasts and warned that another blast will take place at a shopping mall.

The mail sent from ‘chotoominani5@gmail.com’ was received at 12:37 pm claiming the Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islami (HuJI) had no role to play in the blasts.

The mail also reasoned they had chosen Wednesday as it was a busy day for the High Court. The Delhi High Court hears public interest litigations on Wednesday.

Man held for Delhi blast in Srinagar

Srinagar,September 08 :A man was detained at the Srinagar airport in connection with the Delhi blast probe on his return from New Delhi following an input received from a defence intelligence agency about a conversation he had made on September five.

Official sources said a person, resident of Qamarwari in outskirts of the city, was stopped at the airport following a direction from the national capital.
