John Abraham’s next with Vipul Shah, Force, is turning out to be an action-packed film (in quite the literal sense!) for him.

The actor, who plays a cop, performs several dare devil stunts in the film, one of which turned out near fatal for him. But thankfully, he escaped narrowly though not completely unhurt.

While shooting for an action sequence for the film, John had to stand in front of a moving car and shoot at its windshield with a gun.

Kareena not getting married soon: Karisma

Mumbai, August 11: Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor Tuesday denied reports that her younger sister Kareena is set to tie the knot with beau Saif Ali Khan towards the end of 2012.

“Kareena is not getting married anytime soon, ” Karisma said here.

Rumour mills have been abuzz with information that the couple – ‘Saifeena’ – is ready to settle down, and that their nuptials would happen at a palace in Bhopal in royal style.

A report also said that Kareena’s wedding trousseau would be designed by Ritu Kumar

Sex racket unearthed in old city

Hyderabad, August 11 (Siasat News): Moghalpura police has unearthed a sex racket in old city and arrested five persons along with a customer. Four cell phones were also seized from their possession.

Inspector Moghalpura, Syed Fayyaz said that police raided a house in Bela colony where an auntie and her niece were involved in flesh trade. As per the details, Shashikala, 60 and her niece Jayashree, 40, used to hire call girls to run the brothel.

Scholar calls for sex education to protect children from abuse

Riyadh, August 11: A sheikh in the traditionally conservative Buraidah region has called for the introduction of sex education in schools.

Saleh Al-Wanyan, imam of Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahab Mosque, raised the issue in a Friday sermon calling for citizens to be more open about the controversial and taboo subject.

He also called on people to put an end to a so-called “culture of shame” by talking about these issues.

Nine get lifer in kidnapping case

Hyderabad, August 11: Nine persons, including a woman, were sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court today in connection with the kidnapping of a nine-year-old boy from the city in 2004.

The First Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge also imposed a penalty of Rs 10,000 each on the convicts. However, gangster Abid Hussain alias Ali Bhai, an alleged underworld operative and the alleged mastermind behind the abduction and several other kidnaps, was acquitted. Besides seven other accused were also let off.

Pak sheltered Osama in return of Saudi cash: Expert

Islamabad, August 11: Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was given shelter by Pakistan’s security apparatus in return for millions of dollars of Saudi cash, an American security analyst has claimed.

Raelynn Hillhouse’s version, based on evidence from sources — what she calls the “intelligence community”, contradicts the official account that bin Laden was tracked down through his trusted courier, a media report said.

Twin blasts in northwest Pakistan; 5 killed

Peshawar, August 11: Police say a second explosion has occurred in a neighbourhood in the northwest Pakistani city of Peshawar.

Police official Tariq Khan says authorities suspect two female suicide bombers were trying to attack police in the area.

He says it appears that one woman detonated her vest and the other died alongside her, while several people nearby were wounded.

Security had swarmed the Lahori Gate area because a remote-controlled bomb earlier in the morning had gone off near a police vehicle, killing four officers and a boy and wounding dozens of people.

Syrian forces kill 15, US slaps sanctions

Amman, August 11: Syrian forces killed 15 civilians in the city of Homs on Wednesday, an activists’ group said, despite international calls for President Bashar al-Assad to end a bloody crackdown on protests against his rule.

The United States said the world was watching Syria “in horror” and slapped sanctions on a Syrian bank and mobile phone company. Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, who sent his foreign minister to Damascus on Tuesday to urge an end to the bloodshed, said Syria “is pointing guns at its own people”.

US troubled by rising anti-Americanism in Egypt

Washington, August 11: The Obama administration on Wednesday expressed concern about a “creeping” trend of anti-American sentiment in Egypt, where it says it has noticed mounting attacks and criticism of US aid and motives as the country transitions to democracy.

The State Department said it has raised the matter with Egyptian officials. It complained that the criticism is “inaccurate” and “unfair” and that personal attacks lodged against Anne Patterson, the new US Ambassador to Egypt, are “unacceptable.”

Hyderabad, August 11: Satyam scam accused B Ramalinga Raju and five others on Wednesday moved their bail petitions in the metropolitan sessions judge court following a direction from the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
