Hyderabad May 03: (Siasat News) Daily Siasat and M.S. Education Centre will together prepare students for the 13th siasat Pre-Eamcet model test 2010. by the test aspiring students will be able to take admission in the engineering and the medicine courses of the government and the private college.

The test will be conducted on 16th may 2010 at 2pm till 5 pm the students who have submitted this applications for Eamcet 2010 will be eligible to attend the test.

Abbas to meet Obama this month

Gaza, May 03: Acting Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas says he would meet US President Barack Obama in Washington before the peace conference.

But Palestinians say if the illegal settlement construction is not halted, no negotiations — direct or indirect — will be resumed between the Palestinians and Israelis.

The negotiations which were expected to start in March were delayed by Israel’s announcement of a settlement construction project on occupied land near East Jerusalem al-Quds.

JEM to quit Sudan peace talks

Mogadishu, May 03: The Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) warns it may abandon peace talks following a military crackdown on its stronghold by the Sudanese government.

Ahmad Hussein Adam, the spokesperson of JEM said on Friday that the Sudanese government used helicopters and gunships to attack the groups` positions in Jebel Jalik, located 25km South of Jebel Marra in Western Darfur state.

The government has put an end to the ceasefire with the never-ending aggressions on JEM positions, Adam said.

25 killed in Mexico Drug violence

Mexico, May 03: The latest round of bloody drug-related violence has claimed 25 more lives in Mexico’s Chihua-hua state, bordering the United States.

On Sunday, Seven of the slayings took place in Ciudad Juarez, dubbed Mexico’s murder capital. That brings to 62 the number of people killed in the city over the past week alone.

The 18 other slayings overnight included four people fatally shot by automatic weapons in a bar in the town of Camargo, near the state capital Chihuahua City, and two women whose bodies were found stuffed in the trunk of an abandoned car in the same town.

Taliban leader vows revenge on US

Kabul, May 03: Pakistani Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud has vowed in a new video to attack the United States within a month in revenge for the death of other militant leaders.

“The time is very near when our fedayeen (devotees) will attack the American states in the major cities,” SITE quoted Mehsud as saying.

He said Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) would attack the United States “for having martyred many of our great Muslim leaders, including Baitullah Mehsud and many respected brothers from Al-Qaeda”.

New Delhi, May 03: India’s radical Hindu outfit Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangh (RSS, or National Volunteer Corps) refuted allegations of its involvement in a 2007 blast at a revered Muslim shrine in northwestern Ajmer, which killed three people.

The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) in northwestern Rajasthan state said that they have arrested two suspects named Chandrashekhar and Devendra Gupta in connection with the blast that rocked the shrine of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisty in Ajmer town of the state.

China’s central bank hikes banks’ reserve minimum

Beijing, May 03: China has ordered banks to raise the amount of money they hold in reserves for a third time this year in a new effort to dampen inflation pressures in the world’s third-largest economy.

The measure, announced Monday, comes as the government tries to cool a credit boom without raising interest rates, which might slow China’s economic rebound. Economic growth surged to 11.9 percent in the first quarter of the year and the government is trying to cool a surge in housing and other prices fueled by massive bank lending.

K’taka Minister Halappa resigns

Kolkata, May 03: Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Minister H. Halappa on Sunday resigned following allegations against him of sexual assault.

Halappa faxed his resignation to the office of Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, who is currently out of station.

The Minister dismissed the report carried by a leading Kannada daily.

“The allegation is not true. It’s a political conspiracy against me. There are one or two of our own people and those of the opposition (who conspired against me)”,

Halappa told reporters in Bangalore on Sunday.

New Delhi, May 03: Former Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh will play a Hindustani Classical singer in Malayalam film Bombay Mittai, which also stars Bollywood star Dimple Kapadia. The film, shooting for which began Sunday, also stars actor-dancer Neelambari Perumal, daughter of former chief of Sri Lanka’s North East Provincial Council Vardaraja Perumal.

Two terror suspects held

Hyderabad, May 03: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has reportedly picked up a top militant belonging to Hyderabad from Karnataka and brought him to the city on Sunday.

Sources told that the terrorist was captured at Davengere in Karnataka early in the morning following specific information. Not willing to disclose his name, they said the jihadi was from Hyderabad and had been on the most wanted list for the past several years.

Pakistan Taliban leader ‘threatens US in new video’

Islamabad, May 03: Pakistani Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud has appeared in a new video issued months after his reported death, vowing revenge attacks on the United States, US monitoring groups said Monday.

Mehsud threatened to retaliate against the United States within a month for the killing of Islamist and Al-Qaeda militant leaders, in the nine-minute video allegedly made on April 4, after his supposed death in January.

New Delhi, May 03: Atomic Energy Regulatory Board has said it sent full information on the radiation problem in Delhi”s Mayapuri locality and categorised it as level four on the International Nuclear and Radiation event Scale (IENS) denoting high radiation exposure to more than one person.

An AERB official said “The entire incident was reported to the International Atomic Energy Agency under Incident Reporting System (IRS) as per mandatory requirement of the global nuclear watchdog and Illicit Trafficking Data Base (ITDB) of the agency”.
