Bhopal, June 22: Controversial godman Sant Lal Sai, accused in a rape case, surrendered in a women’s court here today, police said.

Lal Sai has a sprawling ashram at Bairagarh on the outskirts of the State capital and several stories of miracles are linked with him.

A woman disciple of Lal Sai registered a case of rape against her guru on October 18, 2008.

Asin’s Missing Assistant Nabbed By Police In Chennai

Mumbai, June 22: Asin In a significant move, the police today nabbed a former assistant of ‘Ghajini’ fame girl Asin in Chennai.

The assistant, Nalla Muthukumaraswamy, 22, was nabbed following a complaint by his mother that he went absconding after he left along with her to Mumbai to work for her last year.

According to the police, they caught actor’s assistant when the latter came to meet a producer seeking a role in his movie.

Acting on a tip-off, two policemen disguised as junior character artistes caught him in their custody from the producer’s office.

According to police, an FIR was lodged against SI Subhash Chandra Jaiswal in connection with eve teasing. After initial probe, he was put under suspension.

Tehran, June 21: Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani urges ‘politicians and candidates’ to separate themselves from rioters and seek legal channels to prove their claims.

Modi rejects amendments to Gujarat terror law

New Delhi, June 20: Striking an aggressive posture, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday rejected the amendments suggested by the Centre to GUJCOCA, saying it would amount to taking away the “teeth and nails” of the legislation.

“The amendments suggested by the Centre amount to taking away the teeth and nails of the Gujarat Control of Organised Crime Act (GUJCOCA),” he told reporters on the sidelines of the BJP National Executive meeting here.
