Graduation Day Celebrated at OU

The Graduation Day for Graduating Batch of 2011-15 was held successfully today in the Auditorium of University College of Technology, Osmania University, Hyderabad.

Registrar, Prof. E. Suresh Kumar graced the occasion as Chief Guest and awarded Degree Certificates to the B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Food Technology and Textile Technology students.

Missing ghazal singer Vithal Rao died in Hyd hospital: Police

Veteran ghazal singer Pandit Vithal Rao, who had gone missing from Shirdi last month, died at a city hospital last night, police said.

ACP K Venkatesh Warlu told PTI that Rao’s family identified his body at the government-run Gandhi Hospital today after the local police alerted them.

Rao, who was 86 years old, was found in Begumpet area on June 24. He suffered from Alzheimer’s disease and presumably could not tell the police about himself.

Petroleum Minister reviews oil and gas projects in TS, AP

Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on June 25-26.

During the visit he reviewed the various oil and gas projects in the state of Telangana; marketing of petroleum products and LPG; proposed pipeline projects; Coal Bed Methane projects and performance of Bhagyanagar Gas Ltd.

The Minister reviewed the performance of private companies and Joint Ventures who are operating in exploration and production of oil & gas including CBM in the region.

Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu on Friday said that the baton of urban transformation in the country is now in the hands of the States and Urban Local Bodies after the launch of the three new urban missions by the Prime Minister yesterday.

“It is for you to take it forward. The Central Government has done its bit by formulating the new Missions after extensive consultations with you and based on your views and suggestions,” Venkaiah Naidu said.

A 28-year-old girl committed suicide when her application for US Visa got rejected.

According to KPHB police, the deceased, Ch Swati, had recently completed her B Tech and was trying for a US Visa. However, she went into depression after her application for US Visa was rejected. Consequently, she resorted to the extreme step by hanging to the ceiling at her residence in KPHB on Thursday night. (INN)

A 27-year-old gold polish worker died after getting electrocuted in Mahankali police limits.

24 year old man killed in road accident

A 24-year-old man was killed while his friend got injured when the motorcycle they were riding on was hit by a car near Tolichowki crossroads.

According to Golconda police, the accident occurred on Thursday evening when P Sukhdev was going on a bike along with his friend Gowtham. Sukhdev died on the spot while Gowtham sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital. Sukhdev was a worker in Shalimar Sweet House at Tolichowki and native of West Bengal. Watchman died after falling from height

Dy CM declares inter supplementary exam results

About 66.23% candidates in the first year, and 42.77% candidates of second year have passed the intermediate supplementary exams whose results were declared by Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari here on Friday.

The Deputy CM informed that as many as 973,237 students applied for the Intermediate exams. of them, 466,448 students were of first year while the rest 5,06,789 were of senior Intermediate. While 150,685 had appeared for improvement, 49,568 appeared for Non-Improvement. He informed that the revaluation and recounting dates have been extended till July 4.

HC verdict on Revanth Reddy’s bail petition on June 30

The Hyderabad High Court will deliver its verdict on June 30 on the bail petition of TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy in the ‘Cash for Vote’ case.

The High Court has heard the arguments of both the Anti-Corruption Bureau and Revanth Reddy’s lawyer and reserved its judgment for June 30. While senior advocate Siddharth Luthra represented Revanth Reddy, Advocate General Ramakrishna Reddy argued for the Telangana Government.

Telangana TDP leaders on Friday called on Legislative Assembly Speaker S Madhusudan Chary seeking action against five TDP MLAs who defected to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

Led by TDP Legislature Party leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao and State Unit president L Ramana, the TDP leaders met the Speaker at his residence and submitted a memorandum seeking action against rebel MLAs. German authorities have discovered a dozen female recruiters working for Islamic State (IS) who persuade other women in Germany to join the jihadist organisation, media reported on Friday.

The way in which young women are being recruited to join IS is even more systematical than suspected, according to a report conducted by WDR and NDR networks, in cooperation with Suddeutsche Zeitung newspaper.
