Normal life was affected in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States today due to rise in temperature. As many as 225 people lost their lives so far — 147 in Telangana and 78 in AP. People living on streets are the worst-affected.

Tank Bund Road Closed for Traffic

The Tank Bund road in the city has been closed for traffic since this morning, due to Kukatpally Nala repair works. Until now, the untreated sewerage water from the areas of Balanagar and Kukatpally are being released into the famous Hussain Sagar lake. With laying the new pipelines, the waste water will be diverted and released into the Kalasiguda Nala from July 2015.

Girl Gang Raped in RR Dt. – Police start Probe

A Gang rape incident in Rangareddy district came to light on Friday, a day after it took place. According to police, a father and his daughter were traveling in an auto to go to his native village Ijrachittampally Thanda in Bantwaram mandal from Vikarabad town on Thursday night. At Barwad Railway Gate, four unidentified youth stopped the auto and took away the girl from the auto attacking her father. The four persons’ gang raped and killed the girl brutally and they escaped from the spot.

DSP, SI and Home Guard Injured in Car Accident

Chevella DSP Ranga Reddy, SI Bheemaiah and a home guard received grievous injuries when the car they were traveling overturned at Allada village on Friday.
Ranga Reddy was going back to his office located at Chevella along with SI Bheemaiah in his car after performing his duty at the last rites of Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy’s father. The car overturned when the driver tried to escape from a vehicle coming in the opposite direction. (NSS)

Youth Tries to Commit Suicide at T Secretariat

A youth named A Chandrashekar tried to commit suicide by consuming poison at Samatha Black in Telangana Secretariat here on Friday. The police, while seeing the incident, shifted him to hospital immediately. It is learnt that Chandrashekar worked at Vootapally Power Sub-station in Miryalaguda mandal as outsourcing employee. Road Accident: Five killed

A 21-year-old youth died on the spot while his mother sustained injuries when the motorcycle they were travelling on was hit by an unidentified bike.

The accident occurred near KPHB on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Md Alam Khan, a Mauzan in KPHB Mosque. His mother is undergoing treatment and is said to be out of danger.

Three killed in train accidents in different incidents

A 55-year-old man died of injuries which he sustained after he was hit by a train between Cherlapally-Moulali stations.

According to Secunderabad Railway Police, the deceased, M Anjaneyulu of Mallapur, was hit by a train on May 18. He was admitted to Gandhi Hospital where he died last night.

60 girls poisoned at Afghanistan school

At least 60 girls fell unconscious at a school in northern Afghanistan after they inhaled a chemical allegedly released by the Taliban, official sources told Efe news agency on Wednesday.

The incident occurred on Tuesday in the Khurram Sarbagh district in Samangan province shortly after students at the girls’ school entered their classrooms, said Khairullah Anosh, governor of the province.

“Dozens of them first felt itching on their bodies and later became unconscious and fell to the ground,” explained Anosh.

Saudi girl’s love affair with Indian expat shocks her family

A Saudi Arabian family was shocked when their daughter revealed to them that she is in love with an Indian expatriate and wants to marry him.

The furious father quickly went to the lover’s employer and tried to persuade him to deport the man but his attempts have failed, according local newspaper Sada.

The 23-year-old woman told her family that she insists on marrying the Indian, who works as a delivery man at a shop in a mall in capital Riyadh.

She revealed that she met the man at the mall and that she had been in touch with him for a while, said the daily.

TS govt amends rule on Medical Education fees

The Telangana State Government today amended the rule on fees for medical education in the State.

In an order, the government cancelled 10 per cent of seats under B category and simultaneously taken a decision to fill 50 per cent seats under A category. The Government also decided to fill the seats by 35 per cent in B category under management quota and 15 per cent of seats under C category. The government announced afresh the amended fees category wise include Rs 60,000 for A category, Rs 9 lakh for B category and Rs 11 lakh for C category. (NSS)
