Noted Spiritualist Sadguru Sivananda Murthy No More

Well-known spiritualist and Scholar Sadguru Kandukuru Sivananda Murthy passed away at his ‘Gurudham’ ashram in Warangal in the wee hours of Wednesday. He was 87.

Andhra Pradesh Endowments Minister Manikyala Rao, senior IAS officers JAC Prasad and L V Subrahmanyam, MLA Surekha, District Collector Karuna, Cine writer Sirivennela Sitharama Sastry, former M P Janga Reddy, Former Minister Capt Lakshmikantha Rao and several other dignitaries paid their last respects to Guruji. The last rites of Guruji will be held this evening.

Cabinet panel approves four laning of Yadgiri-Warangal section of NH-163

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its approval for development of the four laning of the Yadgiri-Warangal section of National Highway – 163 in Telangana.

This work will be under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase-IV. The approval is in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis.

The cost is estimated to be Rs.1905.23 crore including cost of land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation and other pre-construction activities. The total length of the road will be approximately 99 kms.

AP in Japan: Investors keen on ports, infra sector

Delhi Minister arrested on charges of possessing fake degrees, quits

Delhi Law Minister Jitendra Singh Tomar was in police lock up tonight highlighting the face-off between the Centre and the national capital’s AAP government after his arrest by police on the charge of possessing fake degrees forcing him to quit.

49-year-old Tomar, MLA from Trinagar and a first-time minister, was remanded to four-day police custody by a city court hours after he was arrested for allegedly forging his science graduation, law mark sheets and a migration certificate.

Asthma patient dies at Exhibition Grounds

A 65-year-old man, who came to the city to take Fish Prasadam, died at the Exhibition Grounds following a severe asthma attack.

According to Begum Bazar police, the deceased, K Basvaraj, hailed from Belgaum in Karnataka. He was suffering from Asthma for the last 10 years. He came to the city on June 6 to take Fish medicine at Exhibition Grounds. While he was standing in queue to take the ‘Fish Prasadam’, he suffered a severe Asthma attack. He was immediately rushed in 108 Ambulance to the Osmania General Hospital where he was declared brought dead. (INN)

3 killed in road accidents

A 27-year-old man succumbed to the injuries which he sustained after the motorcycle he was riding was hit by another bike in Shahbad police limits.

The accident occurred near Saidapally crossroads on Monday. The deceased, B Raghavendra of Pargi, suffered serious injuries and was admitted to a private hospital at Kachiguda. He died late on Monday night.

Labourer falls from sixth floor, dies

A 30-year-old labourer died after accidentally falling down from the sixth floor of an under-construction building.

The incident happened at an under-construction building in Panchavarti Colony near Manikonda on Monday. The victim, M Shankar Rao, accidentally fell down while working on the sixth floor. He was immediately rushed to the Osmania General Hospital where he died a few hours of admission. The Raidurgam police have registered a case of negligence against the builder, according to Sub-Inspector Babiya Naik.

Labourer drowns in manhole

A 45-year-old labourer was drowned in the manhole near Vayupuri Colony in Neredmet police limits.

The deceased, Suraram Raju, was hired to clean the manhole on Monday evening. However, he slipped into the manhole and got drowned. The Neredmet police later retrieved his body and shifted it Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem. (INN)

PM gave go ahead for ‘hot pursuit’ of militants into Myanmar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given the go ahead to the Indian Army for “hot pursuit” of militants into Myanmar in which two militant camps were completely annihilated, Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore disclosed today.

“Its become a habit for these militants to strike at the Indian Army or paramilitary forces or citizens of the nation and then cross over into safe havens being confident of the fact that Indian Armed forces will not pursue them,” he told NDTV.

Missing girl found dead in mysterious circumstances

A 25-year-old girl was found dead under suspicious circumstances near Ramanthapur on Sunday morning.

The girl, Iffatunnisa Begum, left for job from her home at Ahmed Nagar near Amberpet on Saturday morning. Her family members told Uppal Police that when they called her up at around 8 PM, she was told them that she was on her way home and was stuck in traffic. However, she did not return home last night and her body was found in Ramanthapur today morning.

60 year old woman killed in road accident

A 60-year-old woman succumbed to the injuries which she sustained after being hit by a car.

According to Chandanagar police, the deceased, E Laxmi of BHEL, met with the accident near Chandanagar crossroads on Saturday evening. She was immediately rushed to Gandhi Hospital where she died a few hours after admission. (INN)
