Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today called on the civic bodies to make cities clean and garbage-free before moving towards the initiative of developing them as ‘smart cities’.

Addressing a day-long workshop of top functionaries of municipal corporations, municipal councils, zilla parishads and their executive heads here, Fadnavis said the state government will extend financial assistance from the reserve funds to the civic bodies on basis of their performance of unit in keeping cities clean and in waste management.

Left parties today accused BJP of compromising its nationalist agenda for “lust of power” in Jammu and Kashmir, following reports of hoisting of Pakistan and ISIS flags by the hardliners during protests in Kashmir.

The parties said that recent activities of separatist forces in the state were “dangerous” not only for Jammu and Kashmir, but also rest of India.

A 35-year-old man died of grievous injuries which he suffered when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a tipper lorry.

This portal makes all land details along with Adangal/Pahani and 1-B details available for people.

It also enlists details of land owners, area, assessment, water source, soil type, nature of possession of the Land, Liabilities, Tenancy and Crops grown, etc. One can also view Individual/Village Adangal and 1B details on the website.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Friday sent the video and audio tapes related to ‘Cash for Vote’ case for forensic examination to the State Forensic Science Laboratory.

While the video tapes contain the footage of TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy trying to bribe nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to seek his vote in the MLC elections, the audio tapes contains purported conversation between Elvis and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The FSL is likely to submit its report on the authenticity of the tapes in the next 15 days, according to sources. (INN)

The Telangana Government on Thursday constituted a Special Task Force Committee for development of Pharma City at Mucherla village of Kandukur mandal in Ranga Reddy district on fast track mode.

GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar informed that in view of the onset of monsoon, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation would deploy 81 special emergency squads. Last year only 18 emergency squads were deployed.

Three girls, lodged at the State Rescue Home at Yousufguda, allegedly attempted suicide on Thursday afternoon.

The girls have been identified as Choti Maa (16), Navya (15) and Soundarrya (17).

According to the Women and Child Welfare (WCW) Department officials, the three were amongst the group of 11 girls who had escaped from the Rescue Home last week. However, nine of them were traced and brought back by the police and the WCW Department officials.

According to Gandhi Nagar police, B Prashant Rao, 21, was killed on the spot after he was hit and run by an unknown vehicle while he was crossing the road at Tank Bund. He was a student and resident of Jayanagar Colony near Bhoiguda.
