Jaya Sudha may be expelled from Congress

Former MLA and film actress Jaya Sudha may be expelled from the Congress party.

According to sources, the Congress leaders from Secunderabad constituency have complaied to the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee that Jaya Sudha was indulging in anti-party activities and had kept herself away from party programmes for quite a long time. Sources say that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is trying to induct Jaya Sudha into the TRS in order to lure the settlers and Christian voters in the forthcoming GHMC elections.

Union Steel Minister calls on KCR

Union Minister for Steel and Mines Narendra Singh Tomar called on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at latter’s office here on Monday.

They discussed issues of mutual interest with special reference to steel and mines related issues in the state of Telangana. Tomar presented a GSI booklet on geology and mineral resources of Telangana and district resource maps of all districts in Telangana to the Chief Minister.

Kavitha leaves for Belgium

TRS MP from Nizamabad K Kavitha on Monday left for Belgium as a part of seven-member Parliamentary delegation led by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.

Speaking to media persons before her departure, Kavitha said she was privileged to be a part of Parliamentary delegation being led by the Speaker herself. She said the visit would strengthen India’s relationship with the European Union.

The delegation would stay in Belgium till June 26. (INN)

TS Police to fill 18,000 vacant posts soon

Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma has announced that steps were being taken to issue notification for filling up of nearly 18,000 vacancies in the police department.

The DGP made this announcement while addressing a press conference in Warangal on Monday. Speaking about ‘Cash for Vote’ case, Sharma said that the Anti-Corruption Bureau was dealing with the case and law would take its own course. He made it clear that the Law and Order in Hyderabad was under the control of Telangana Police and it would remain so in future.

Rotary International to distribute dual desks in 7,593 High Schools

Rotary International District 3150, in support with local clubs, foreign partners and Rotary Foundation to distribute 7,593 High School Dual Desks here in city in a function to be held at Hitex Grounds, Madhapur on 25th June. These school desks will benefit 22,779 children every year in the five revenue districts of Telangana State.

President Elect of Rotary International K.R. Ravindran, and Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao will grace as Chief Guests and handover the Desks to the 145 schools.

KCR to handover permits to 17 investors today

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao will be formally handing over package of permit papers on Tuesday at 2 PM in the State Secretariat to the investors of 17 companies whose applications for setting up industries have been processed, cleared and finalized by the Telangana State Government. These 17 companies together account for an investment of Rs. 1500 Crores and likely to provide employment to 4000 persons.

TITA celebrates inaugural World Yoga Day

The Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) members including TITA-NRI’s took part in the first ever International Yoga Day. Across the globe, Yoga programmes under the banner of ‘TITA Yogathon’ were held at 13 different places including Hyderabad, Warangal, Bangalore, Mumbai, USA, South Africa and Singapore. A new district to be named after T Ideologue: KTR

IT Minister KT Rama Rao today said a new district to be formed in Warangal district will be named after Telangana Ideologue Prof. Jayashankar.

Yoga Day observed at Sanjeevaiah Park

International Yoga Day was organised at Sanjevaiah Park here today.

Naidu assures to help rescue stranded fishermen

AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said his government would extend all possible help to rescue 50 fishermen, who were caught in rough sea.

It may be mentioned here that some 50 fishermen from Kakinada in East Godavari district ventured into the sea and stranded due to bad weather. The Chief Minister inquired with the authorities about the fishermen’s safety and directed them to take all possible assistance to rescue and bring them ashore.
Meanwhile, Army helicopters launched a search operation in the sea. (NSS)
