Sri Rama Sene protests casting of Veena Malik in Kannada film

Activists of right wing outfit Sri Rama Sene Monday staged a protest against casting of controversial Pakistani actress Veena Malik in the Kannada version of `The Dirty Picture` movie and demanded her replacement with another Indian actress.

The protesters, led by Sri Ram Sene President Pramod Muthalik, shouted slogans and sought to know why the makers of `The Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Hot Maga` had cast her when there are many talented Indian actress who can fit into the role.

Ingredients:

Chicken pieces, 1kg
Fenugreek seeds, 1 tsp
Mustard seeds, 1 tsp
Fennel seeds, 1 tsp
Cumin seeds, 1 tsp
Red chilli powder, 1 tsp
Turmeric powder, 1 tsp
Onion seeds, 1 tsp
Red dry chillies, 2
Onions sliced, 2 large
Garlic paste, 2 tsp
Ginger paste, 1 tsp
Tomato puree, 1 cup
Juice of 1 lemon
Water, 1/2 cup
Salt, to taste
Mustard oil, 3 tbsp

Procedure:
Heat the oil in a heavy-bottomed pan till and add the mustard, fennel, fenugreek, cumin, onion seeds, chillies and fry for a few seconds.

Shatrughan Sinha stable, but gets breathless

Shatrughan Sinha will continue to stay in the hospital as he still tends to get breathless.

The actor-politician was hospitalised July 2 at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital after he complained of breathing problem. The 66-year-old developed respiratory allergic reaction due to painting at his residence.

Giving update on his condition, Ram Narain, COO, Kokilaben Jospital, told IANS: “Mr Sinha is stable. Still tends to get breathless. Being closely observed. Will be here for a few more days.”

Fat people have a better chance of surviving heart attacks than the skinny ones and obese people are more likely to cheat death and avoid the need for a heart transplant or cardiac treatment, a new study has claimed.

Experts at the University of California in Los Angeles have found that people with a high body mass index and a large belly circumference were at significantly less risk of dying.

“Heart failure may prove to be one of the few health conditions where extra weight may prove to be protective,” Research leader Dr Tamara Horwich said.

Molecule that could help treat dangerous skin cancer found

Scientists have identified a molecule in immune cells that inhibits melanoma growth in mice, a landmark finding which they say could shape the future treatment of the dangerous skin cancer.

Researchers from Brigham and Women`s Hospital (BWH) in Boston, the US, found that high expression of a cell-signaling molecule, known as interleukin-9, in immune cells inhibits melanoma growth.

Brazil to breed mosquitoes to fight dengue

Brazilian authorities have inaugurated a breeder for a genetically modified type of aedes aegypti mosquito in hopes of finding a more effective way to combat dengue, of which over 430,000 cases have been registered this year nationwide.

The so-called “mosquito factory” was built at a cost of 1.7 million reais ($850,000) and financed by the government of Bahia state with the help of the health ministry.

`Joker` trailer to release with `Cocktail`

The first trailer of Shirish Kunder`s ‘Joker’, which is reportedly Akshay Kumar`s 100th film, will release along with Homi Adjania`s ‘Cocktail’ when it hits the theatres Friday.

” `Joker` trailer will now release earlier on July 12. So all those who were doing the countdown can minus “1” from it. Six days to go,” the 39-year-old tweeted Sunday.

When one of his fan asked Kunder about the name of the movie alongside which the trailer will be out, filmmaker replied by tweeting: “`Joker` trailer would be released along side `Cocktail`.”

Black money: I-T consumes most FIU generated suspicious reports

The Income Tax department, which is at the forefront of cracking down against black money, has been the largest consumer of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) generated by the elite financial intelligence unit, an official data has revealed.

The I-T department, with a total of 26,488 STRs in the last six financial years (2006-12), has been reported as the biggest consumer of these classified reports, as compared with other enforcement agencies like the ED, DRI and Customs department which consumed just over 3,000 of such reports.

Rupee likely to be in 54.50-55.30 range this week: Experts

After losing most of the initial gains in last few trading sessions, the rupee is likely to trade in the 54.50-55.30 range this week due to renewed risk aversion globally after more stimuli by three leading central banks last week, according to experts.

“The rupee is likely to trade in range of 54.50-55.30 this week with an appreciating bias,” IDBI treasury head N S Venkatesh told PTI.

The FII inflows and policy announcements will be crucial to provide direction to the rupee, he said.

Stern action for violating fire safety rules

Two Govt. officials arrested on corruption charges

Officials of Anti –Corruption Bureau arrested two Govt. officials including one inspector of survey and land records office. These employees were associated with the office of Assistant Director of Survey and Land Records , Karimnagar.

They were produced before the Special Judge for A.C.B. cases in Hyderabad. The judge gave them in judicial custody.

Inspector of the office of Survey and Land Records, Mr. Rajamouli and Mr Rama Swamy attender were arrested on the charges of accepting bribe for cordoning work of the land . Rajamoli has taken bribe through the attender.

SIM cards free of cost to Haj pilgrims

The Haj Committee of India would distribute SIM cards of Saudi Telecom company free of cost to Haj pilgrims, Aboobucker, vice-chairman of the Haj Committee of India, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, has said.

The SIM cards would be distributed with the help of the Saudi Arabia government and it will cary contact numbers of all the members of Haj Committee of India and also official numbers in Mecca besides emergency services and hospitals that would help the pilgrims in need, he said yesterday.

Narendra Modi viciously being maligned: Advani
