A 55-year-old man was killed and his 29-year-old relative was seriously injured after the roof of a house collapsed in Delhi, police said Monday.
The accident was reported around 10 p.m. Sunday from Paschim Vihar area in west Delhi, police said.
Pradeep Kumar died when the roof caved in and his relative Vipin is battling for his life in a private hospital.
“It was an old two-storey building. The incident occurred after the second-floor roof suddenly collapsed, leaving the victims trapped under the debris. They were later rushed to a nearby hospital,” said a police official.
A woman was allegedly gang-raped in front of her husband by two youths at Ropaiabawk locality here, police said Monday.
The incident took place yesterday when Zarzoliana (19) and P C Lalhruaitluanga (20), both residents of Chawlhhmun, overpowered the woman’s husband and tied him with a tree before raping the woman, they said.
Both the accused were arrested from Aizawl, police said.

The tiny laser sensor can even sniff out a hard-to-detect explosive called pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN), a favourite among terrorists.
Small amounts of PETN pack a powerful punch and being a plastic, it escapes x-ray machines when not connected to detonators.
PETN was found in Richard Reid’s shoe bomb in 2001 and Umar Farouk Abdulmtallab’s underwear bomb in 2009.
At least two people were killed and nine injured Monday in a suicide car bombing in Afghanistan’s Helmand province.
According to officials, the blast occurred in Zanzer Mina locality of Helmand’s capital Lashkar Gah, Xinhua reported.
The target of the attack was a police convoy passing by the area, officials said.
The dead were a policeman and a civilian while four policemen and five civilians were injured in the explosion, the officials added.
