Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ideologue K.N. Govindacharya on Monday said that instead of trying to give legal excuses, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) must take a principled stand on its leaders.

“The politics of morality cannot be expected of the opposition. This new government must show morality. Instead of trying to show legal excuses the government must take principled stand. Otherwise what is difference between opposition and the government?,” K.N. Govindacharya told ANI.

All Gram Panchayat to be computerized – KTR

Govt. of Telangana intends to connect all the 5232 Gram Panchayats through computers. While addressing a workshop, IT Minister, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao told that Gram Panchayats are being given an opportunity to function independently. They have been provided with computers. He informed that this year Gram Panchayat collected Rs. 264 crores as tax which is a record collection. He also informed that work has started to provide drinking water to every house in all the Gram Panchayats. He also said that 40 crore plants would be planted under Haritha Haram project.

Outsourcing and contract employees should be made permanent – Parthasarathi

Parathasarathi demanded the Government of Telangana to make outsourcing and contract employees permanent and provide them 43% fitment, health card and other facilities, otherwise JAC will organize Mahapadyatra near CM’s camp at Yadagiri Gutta. He was addressing a press conference yesterday. He told that along with regular employees, contact employees also participated in Telangana Movement. They were expecting that their jobs would be made permanent but the Govt. of Telangana did not pay any attention to their problems.

Police fire tear gas to break gay pride parade in Turkey

Turkish police on Sunday fired tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse thousands of people determined to have an annual Lesbian, Gay, Transexual and Bisexual pride (LGBT) march at Istanbul’s iconic Taksim square.

The square and Istiklal street, one of Istanbul’s busiest touristic streets, were decorated with rainbow colours symbolising the LGBT community colours and was readied for the parade days before Sunday.

Rain brings down temperature in Uttar Pradesh

Heavy overnight rain in different parts of Uttar Pradesh has brought down the temperature in the state.

The rains are largely due to a depression over north India. The monsoon has finally hit the state, the Met Office said here.

While the rain gave relief from the scorching heat, water logging in different parts here created problems for the daily commuters and office-goers.

Met director J.P. Gupta said the weather would continue to be same over next few days after which the monsoon will take a break for sometime.

Woman gang-raped in moving car

A 20-year-old woman was allegedly raped in a moving car by two persons, police said today.

The woman, in a complaint filed at Sector-55 police station yesterday, alleged that Momin and Imran raped her in a moving car on the way to Agra on June 23, after which Imran took her to Lahawas village in Mewat district and kept her confined for four days and raped her again, police said.

She also complained that Asaruddin and Ismail, whom she knew, convinced her to visit Agra for sightseeing with the duo.

Class 12 girl claims rape by 3 youths

A Class 12 student has alleged that she was abducted and gang-raped by three youths for two days in East Delhi.

Police said the girl, in her complaint, alleged that she befriended one of the accused on a social networking site. She also claimed that the accused tried to sell her off, but she managed to escape from their “clutches”.

“The 17-year-old, who lives with her parents in Mandawali area, befriended one Sameer on Facebook sometime ago,” said a senior police official, adding that she had only alleged kidnapping when she first approached police on June 21.

A video was uploaded on the website showing a Muslim youth beaten brutally by the Bajrang Dal goons after which communal tension in Muzaffarnagar mounted.

The Muslim youth, Riyaz sat at the place where the cow was allegedly being slaughtered.

In the video, Riyaz was shown being paraded by the group of Bajrang Dal goons who were repeatedly heard shouting ‘gau hatya kar raha tha. yehi anjam hoga gau hatya karne walon ka (He was slaughtering cow, this will be the treatment of those who attempt to slaughter cows).

BJP worker allegedly molested by party leader in UP

A BJP worker was allegedly molested by a party leader and his four associates here, police said today.

The woman in her complaint alleged that BJP leader Anup Tiwari molested her on June 20 in his car on the pretext of dropping her home, Station Incharge of Railbazar police station Shravan Yadav said.

The woman complained about the incident to local party authorities and the next day Anup and his four associates reached party office and molested the complainant and tried to strip her too, he said.

Egypt court jails 47 Morsi loyalists

An Egyptian court on Sunday sentenced 47 supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi and Muslim Brotherhood group from three to 15 years in prison over violence charges, MENA news agency reported.

The Zagazig Criminal Court found the defendants guilty of terrorist activities, violating the new anti-protest law, possessing anti-government fliers, resisting the authorities and assaulting private properties at Sharqiya province, some 65 km north of the capital Cairo.

The ruling regarding other 31 defendants facing similar charges has been delayed to June 30.

Telangana pays tributes to Narasimha Rao on birth anniversary

Rich tributes were paid to late former prime minister P.V. Narasimha Rao on his 94th birth anniversary here on Sunday.

Ministers from Telangana, leaders of the Congress party and Rao’s family members paid floral tributes at his Samadhi ‘PV Gyan Bhoomi’ on the banks of the Hussain Sagar Lake.

For the second year, the Congress stalwart’s birth anniversary was celebrated officially by the Telangana government.

Those paying tributes included deputy chief ministers Kadiam Srihari, Mahmood Ali, home minister N. Narasimha Reddy, ministers Harish Rao, T. Nageswara Rao and Mahender Reddy.

Chanderpaul still hoping to play for Windies in Tests

Veteran West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul says he has no intention of announcing his retirement from Test cricket until perhaps the end of the year.

Chanderpaul, 40, was dropped for the two-Test series against Australia in June after managing only 92 runs at an average of 15.33 in the three matches against England in April and May, reports CMC.

He had six single-digit scores and only one fifty in his last 10 innings.

Evidence shows heterosexual people who are married have better physical and mental health than people who are not married.

Research done so on same sex marriage also suggests that marriage may provide the same benefits for same-sex couples.

“We know that marriage does enhance people’s health,” Richard Wight, a community health researcher at the University of California was quoted as saying in a Live Science report.
