Govt plans to give free medicines

In what could turn out to be a big leap forward for the people of India where out-of-pocket expense on medicines accounts for a major part of healthcare system, the UPA government today said it is ‘formulating a scheme for distribution of free medicines through Government hospitals and health centers’.

US wants to take defence ties with India to new level

A top American military commander, in-charge of the country’s powerful Pacific Command, has said that he wants to take the India-US defence ties to a new level as being articulated in the new defence strategic guidance announced by the Pentagon early this year.

“We hope to partner with (India) to share the strategic landscape as it applies to how we apply security to the globe that allows prosperity and peace, freedom of movement and prosperity in the world,” Admiral Samuel J Locklear III, Commander of the US Pacific Command, told the American Forces Press Service in an interview.

Two sea ports to be established in the State

(Siasat News)Finance Minister of A.P. Mr. Ram Narayan Reddy said that the Central Govt. has sanctioned two sea ports for the State. Appropriate places have also been identified for these ports.

Earlier, Dokarajupatnam in Nellore Districts was identified as one of the places for the seaport but Govt. of India designated Ramaihpatnam for the new sea port which is most unsuitable.

Shab-e-Quader function of Meeload Committee

Auto fares likely to be hiked from 20th August

(Siasat News)Twenty unions of auto drivers told that the negotiations with transport Minister Mr. Botsa Satyanarayana were successful. It has been agreed to raise the minimum auto fare from Rs. 14 to Rs. 16 and the fare for 1 km from Rs. 8 to Rs. 9.

It is expected that this decision would be implemented from 20th August.

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev today ended his fast against black money stashed away in foreign banks and corruption, asserting his agitation was ”successful”.Ramdev, who had started his fast on August 9 at Ramlila Maidan,ended his fast at Ambedkar Stadium where he was taken by the Delhi Police yesterday. Engineering Colleges Counseling G.O to be issued today

(Siasat News)It is expected that Govt. of A.P will issue a G.O announcing the schedule of admissions in engineering colleges today or tomorrow. The G.O was to be issued yesterday but the managements of some private engineering colleges emphasized the Govt. to raise the fees from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000 but the Govt. didn’t accept this demand. The Cabinet Sub Committee recommended Rs. 35,000 as fees. Some management didn’t accept it.

TRS leader’s violence in Koratla (Karimnagar)

(Siasat News)Muslim youths of Koratla staged dharna in front of police station and blocked the traffic. They were protesting against the attitude of the police. The attacks of the members of the majority committee injured two boys belonging to Minority community on Sun\day night. The injured boys were admitted in the hospital.

According to the details received, some boys were playing near Allahgutta. The minor quarrel between the two boys flared up and their parents got involved.
