(Siasat News)From this academic year there will be no EAMCET for the admission in MBBS and BDS, student need to appear national level exam for the admission, though the seats of the Andhra Pradesh will be allotted to the student of the State and the counselling will be conducted by the NTR university.

Even thought Govt. tried for EAMCET one more year, but NEET is finalized. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct it, however the question paper will be both in Hindi and Telugu to facilitate student of different medium.

Work on international stadium at Lucknow gains momentum

The ambitious project of building an international class stadium and cricket academy in the state capital has gained momentum with the appointment of three companies as consultant and transaction advisors for implementing the project.

The companies – Consortium of Innovest Advisory Services Pvt Ltd, Uttrakhand Infrastructure Development Co. Ltd (U-DeC) and Infrastructure Development Finance Company Ltd (IDFC) – have been roped in as consultant and transaction advisors for implementation of the project.

Actress Ameesha Patel is enjoying working with her “Gadar – Ek Prem Katha” co-star Sunny Deol after over a decade for “Bhaiyyaji Superhitt”, and says the audience will get to see a new side of them in the new movie.

“After (over) 10 years Sunny (Deol) and I comeback post ‘Gadar’ for ‘Bhaiyyaji Superhitt’ and the film is turning out phenomenal. It’s got Sunny and me in a completely new avatar,” Ameesha said here.

“It’s not like ‘Gadar Part 2’. It’s a comedy, it’s a masala film and it’s got Sunny in a double role… So that’s really exciting,” added the 37-year-old.

Kashmir locals help police in chasing militants

People in the old city areas of summer capital Srinagar helped police chase militants who had snatched a service rifle a day ago, said an official here Saturday.

K. Rajendra Kumar, additional director general (ADG) law and order, Saturday told IANS: “I have conveyed my appreciation to the people of old city who helped our boys catch and overpower two militants who were running away after snatching the service rifle of a policeman.”

The militants were chased in the old city area after they tried to escape in an autorickshaw, he said.

BJP’s goodwill mission to North Eastern States

It will tour North Eastern States from 25th to 27th August in order to boost up their morale and confidence of the victims so that the riot hit victims could go back to their native places.

Cancer Institute with 350 beds in city

(Siasat News)American Oncology Institute and Cyberabad citizens’ Health Service have invested Rs.220 crore for establishing a cancer institute with 350 beds.

In the second phase of its development, the hospital would be upgraded and 1000 beds would be provided. The total investment then would also be enhanced to Rs.1, 000 crore.

Telangana Veterinary doctors neglected-TNGO Association’s allegation

(Siasat News)Blaming the Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry for neglecting the Telangana Veterinary doctors, a dharna programme was organized by Telangana N.G.O’s Association. The President of the association met the Director of Animal Husbandry,
Dr. M.V.Reddy and presented a memorandum that Telangana Veterinary doctors are being neglected for promotions despite fulfilling qualifications and experience. He pointed out that as per G.O. 610, Telangana employees should be given a weightage of 70% in all the recruitments, which is not being followed.

Actor Thilakan’s condition critical

Veteran actor Thilakan, 74, is in a critical condition after suffering two heart attacks, doctors treating him here said Saturday. The actor from Kerala has been part of nearly 300 films, most of them in Malayalam.

Thilakan has been put on the ventilator.

Beginning his career in the fifties, he became famous with his 1979 film “Ulkadal”. His latest film, “Ustad Hotel”, is currently running in theatres.

The actor was in news for taking on the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes, leading to his ouster in 2010.

UN chief reiterates full support for new Syria envoy

Days ahead of the new UN-Arab League joint special representative for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi takes charge, the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki- moon has reiterated his support him.

Brahimi is scheduled to assume his new position Sep 1.

The UN chief Friday met Brahimi, a former Algerian foreign minister, at the UN Headquarters in New York.

Brahimi was appointed last week to replace Kofi Annan, who would step down at the end of this month as the international mediator on the 18-month old Syrian crisis, Xinhua reported.

Arun Gawli, 11 others convicted in Sena corporator’s murder

Gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli was today convicted along with 11 others by the MCOCA court for their involvement in the murder of Shiv Sena corporator Kamlakar Jamsandekar over four years back.

The charge sheet said that a sum of Rs 30 lakh was paid to the Gawli gang for the job. The trial had commenced from October 2010.

The sentence will be pronounced by the special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court on August 27.

Producer Farah Khan, who is thrilled about her next home production ‘Joker’, intends to screen the film to underprivileged children.

Directed by Farah’s husband Shirish Kunder, ‘Joker’ is a fantasy-adventure film starring Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Shreyas Talpade, Minnisha Lamba and others.

‘Joker’ is about a village called Paglapur, which lacks basic facilities like water supply and electricity.

Since no one comes forward to solve the problems, the character played by Akshay Kumar creates a drama involving aliens to attract people’s attention.

Five killed in Turkey road accident

A total of five people were killed and one person was injured in a road accident in Turkey Friday, Anatolia news agency reported.

The accident occurred on a highway in Van province when a truck turned over as its driver lost control at a high speed, leaving five people dead and one person as injured, repoted Xinhua citing the report.

Actress Soha Ali Khan finds all kinds of reality shows on the small screen very interesting and says it is particularly entertaining to watch people be themselves in front of the camera.

“I’ve seen a lot of reality shows and even if any show is a low quality show, there is something very addictive about watching someone being themselves on screen and you end up watching it for sometime. So, there is a human interest in it (reality shows),” Soha told IANS.

SC dismisses plea against Chidambaram in 2G case

In a huge relief to Finance Minister P Chidambaram, the Supreme Court today dismissed a plea for making him a co-accused in the 2G spectrum case, saying there was no prima facie material against him of any criminal conspiracy or procuring of any pecuniary gain.

“No case is made out against P Chidambaram and the special leave petition filed against the judgment of the special CBI court is not liable to be entertained. Accordingly, the SLP is rejected,” a bench comprising justices G S Singhvi and K S Radhakrishnan said.

Wakf Board has already made initial preparations of counter affidavit.

Wakf Board has decided to acquire the services of the noted lawyers of Supreme Court for pleading this case.

A meeting of the committee constituted by Wakf Board was held yesterday under the chairmanship of Maulana Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani. Various legal aspects of the case were considered in the meeting.

Collector of Ranga Reddy District is transferred

(Siasat News)Mr. V.Seshadri, Collector of Ranga Reddy District has been transferred and posted as Collector and District Magistrate, Visakhapatnam.

Along with him as many as 11 IAS officers have been also been transferred.

Results of Abid Ali Khan Educational Trust Exams released

(Siasat News)Proficiency of Urdu examination, which was conducted by Abid Ali Khan Educational Trust, held under the auspices of Idara-e-Adabiyath-e-Urdu on 15th July its results have been released yesterday.

All the incharges of Hyderabad City and district centers may obtain these results from Mr. Mohammed Habeebur Rahman, incharge between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The next session of these examinations will be conducted in January 2013.

The incharges of the centers are requested to get examination form free of cost from the office of Abid Ali Khan Educational Trust.
