Actress Malaika Arora Khan, who began her tryst with showbiz as a video jockey on MTV, says she can never leave the small screen behind.

“Television is my first love. I have been on television forever and I will continue to do so. I really enjoy myself on television,” the 38-year-old said here.

Malaika, who is a successful item girl in Bollywood with songs like “Chhaiya chhaiya”, “Munni badnaam” and “Anarkali disco chali” to her credit, reveals that she has a special interest in dance shows.

BJP MPs walk out of 2G JPC meet

BJP members of a parliamentary panel probing the 2G spectrum allocation walked out a meeting Tuesday against the chairman’s refusal to call Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to depose, BJP sources said.

A BJP source told IANS that Congress member P.C. Chacko, who heads the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), had earlier said he would decide on calling Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P. Chidambaram to depose at the meeting.

Under the auspices of Telangana Urdu Teachers’ Association, an important Consultative meeting of the Teachers working as school Assistants who are eligible to get promotions as junior lecturers will be held at 4 p.m. today the 18th of September at Aliya High School, at Gunfoundry.

Mr. Masood Ahmed, Acting President of Telangana Urdu Teachers’ Association told that there are many teachers working as school Assistants. They are qualified for promotion as junior lecturers but they are denied promotions.

Modern research necessary for eyes treatment-APJ Abdul Kalam

Students staged Dharna against the management of Urdu University

Private firm directors in CBI net over coal blocks

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sent summons to Manoj Jayaswal Tuesday in connection with coal block allocations and questioned his brother Arvind Jayaswal for the second consecutive day.

“Arvind Jayaswal, who was questioned for nearly eight hours yesterday (Monday) in CBI headquarters here, is being questioned even today (Tuesday) for his alleged misrepresentation and concealing of facts by his company AMR Iron and Steel Pvt. 65,000 Bihar Police constables stage sit-in

At least 65,000 police constables in Bihar Tuesday staged a sit-in (dharna) to press for their 15-point charter of demands, including various allowances.

All the police constables staged the sit-in during the duty hours in the second of their five-phase protest to draw attention of the state government, a police officer said.

Mumbai police are still clueless over the suspected suicide of a 27-year-old woman, whose body was found in an NCP legislator’s room in Manora MLA Hostel near Churchgate here late Sunday, an official said Tuesday.

The victim, identified as Rupali Andhare, niece of Dilip Dhaigunde, a personal assistant to Babanrao Shinde, Nationalist Congress Party MLA from Madha, was found hanging from the ceiling fan of the legislator’s room late Sunday.

Nine die in Kabul suicide bombing

Nine foreigners were killed Tuesday in a suicide bombing in Afghan capital of Kabul, the police said.

“A suicide bomber targeted a minibus carrying foreign nationals along a main road from Kabul airport to Kabul inter-continental hotel, leaving at least nine foreigners dead,” a police official told Xinhua.

The blast occurred at around 6.45 a.m.

TV channel Tolo News reported that nine foreigners were killed in the suicide bombing that went off near an Afghan intelligence agency building on airport road.

No group has not yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

Brazilian gymnast killed in car accident

A 17-year-old star rhythmic gymnast died in a car accident over the weekend in Viana, a city in Brazil’s Espiritu Santo state, police said.

Eduarda Mello de Queiroz, who placed second in the national championships, died Sunday when the car she was riding in with two other people went into a ravine and hit a tree.

Luiz Felipe Costa, who was driving the car, is hospitalized in serious condition, while the third person in the vehicle, gymnast Natalia Gaudio, sustained only minor injuries, police said.
