A new study has revealed that oldest and simplest organisms on Earth called methanogens have the capability to survive under low-pressure Martian conditions.

New research at the University of Arkansas suggested that they are anaerobic, so they don’t require oxygen. They don’t require organic nutrients, either, and are non-photosynthetic, indicating they could exist in sub-surface environments and therefore are ideal candidates for life on Mars.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said that the Congress would be a part of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-Janata Dal (United) alliance for the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls.

“The Congress is definitely involved in the talks over the Bihar polls,” Kumar told a press conference here.

“We discussed various matters with Rahul Gandhi but nothing that would interest you,” he added.

Talking about seat-sharing for the Bihar polls, Kumar said that “three members each from the RJD and JD (U) will meet tomorrow and have a discussion on seat-distribution”.

10-year-old Aahil Jouher from UK gets highest Mensa score of 162

A 10-year-old “ordinary” boy in the UK has become one of the youngest people to achieve the highest possible score of 162 on a Mensa IQ test.

Aahil Jouher, from Blackburn, got a perfect 162 on the Mensa test, a score which only one per cent of the population have achieved.

“I didn’t expect to get that score. I just thought I’d get an average score,” Jouher said. After taking the test Jouher told his parents that he didn’t feel he had done very well and said, “I could have done better”.

Scientists have identified a group of genes that allow some people to look up to 10 years younger than their actual age.

Scientists at Harvard University and 23andMe, a private genetic database, studied 1 million people and found that 10% of white and 20% of black Americans carry the “genetic recipe” for youthful skin.

The researchers believe its presence can result in people looking up to 10 years younger than they really are, ‘The Sunday Times’ reported.

Revealed: Ram Gopal Varma returns with new film ‘Secret’

National Award-winning filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma today unveiled the first poster of Secret, his first Bollywood film after a gap of almost two years.

His last Hindi release, Satya 2, in November 2013, did not do well at the box-office.

The 53-year-old Satya director took to Twitter to release the movie’s poster.

“My first Hindi film “SECRET” after a long 1 and half year break,” the director tweeted.

The psychological-romance, which was earlier titled The Affair, stars Sachiin Joshi, Kainaat Arora, Tisca Chopra Makarand Deshpande and Meera Chopra.
