Thousands of stone tools unearthed from a cave in Jordan have revealed the first bosses emerged 45,000 years ago.

Anthropologists Liv Nilsson Stutz and Aaron Jonas Stutz from Emory University found thousands of stone tools from the early Upper Paleolithic, which revealed clues about how humans might have started organizing into more complex social groups by planning tasks and specializing in different technical skills.

A new study has revealed that exercise with a physiotherapist helps people with depression.

Sahlgrenska Academy researcher evaluated exercise as add-on therapy to medicating with antidepressants. The study divided 62 individuals with diagnosed clinical depression into three groups, in which two participated in two different types of exercise with a physiotherapist twice a week for 10 weeks while the third, the control group, did not participate in systematic exercise.

Tamim Iqbal becomes Bangladesh’s highest Test run-getter

Opening batsman Tamim Iqbal became Bangladesh’s highest Test run-scorer on day four of the lone Test against India in Fatullah on Saturday.

Iqbal became the second Bangladeshi to cross 3000-run landmark after surpassing former captain Habibul Bashar’s 3026, the BBC has reported.

The 26-year-old, who scored his maiden double-century last month, made 19 before being stumped by Wriddhiman Saha off a Ravichandran Ashwin’s delivery.

Former Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has been roped in as the new manager of reigning Chinese Super League champions Guangzhou Evergrande on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

The Brazilian, who guided his nation’s football team to victory in the 2002 World Cup, said that he knew China was spending a lot to improve its football now, and added that Guangzhou is one of the pioneers, the BBC has reported.

Cairn India board to meet on Sunday to discuss merger with Vedanta

Cairn India on Saturday said its board of directors will meet on Sunday to deliberate on the proposed merger with Vedanta Ltd.

In a BSE filing Cairn India said: “A meeting of Board of Directors of the company will be held on June 14, 2015, inter alia, to consider and evaluate amalgamation of the company with Vedanta Limited.”

Meanwhile, as per sources, boards of Cairn India and Vedanta Ltd at a meeting tomorrow will consider ‘reverse’ merger aimed at cutting debt on Vedanta books as well as the share swap ratio and decide on the timelines for completion of the merger.

NID sets up Railway Design Centre for coaches, stations

National Institute of Design (NID) has set up a centre for designing passenger friendly coaches and stations for the Indian Railways.

In April, an MoU was signed between Rail Ministry and NID for setting up of Railway Design Centre at the institute’s Ahmedabad campus with a corpus of Rs 10 crore.

Over the next 10 years, the centre is “expected to bring in revolutionary changes in passenger and freight transport facilities through sustained design research and development exclusively dedicated to the Indian Railways,” a

Indian Navy picks up beacon signals of missing Dornier aircraft

A naval survey ship has reportedly picked up signals from the missing Indian Coast Guard’s Dornier aircraft.

The Dornier with three crew members went missing on on Monday night along the Tamil Nadu coast.

The Ministry of Defence on Saturday said in a statement that intense and sustained efforts are being made to search for the the missing aircraft. The search has been on for the last 110 hours.

Toy train service resumes in Darjeeling after five years

After a gap of nearly five years, the toy train service has resumed in West Bengal’s Darjeeling.

The toy train ‘Queen of Hills’ shuttled yesterday between Darjeeling and New Jalpaiguri stations.

The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, consists of 88.48 km of narrow gauge track that connects New Jalpaiguri with Darjeeling, passing through Ghum at an altitude of 2258 meters.

The toy train service was suspended on September 2010, after a landslide destroyed about 600 meters of road and tracks running parallel to it at the Tindharia town of Darjeeling. (ANI)

Trouble mounts on Tomar as B. Sc degree proved fake

The Delhi Police, which took Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former law minister Jitendra Tomar to Faizabad and Ayodhya as part of its investigation, have found that his B. Sc degree is fake.
Delhi Police sources said that Tomar had no knowledge about anything related to his educational qualification when questioned at the Faizabaad Awadh University and Ayodhaya Saket College.

No such degree has been issued by the University or college in his name, said sources.

Meanwhile, the verification of Tomar’s L.L.B. degree is still underway.

US asks Pak to allow international charities to function

The United States has urged Pakistan to allow ‘Save the Children’ and other international charities to work under a legal framework.

US State Department spokesperson Jim Kirby said that they have urged the government of Pakistan to standardise and streamline a transparent process that will allow international NGOs to work legally in Pakistan as they were concerned about Pakistan’s crackdown on international charitable organisations and other NGOs, Dawn reported.

Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Saturday denied reports of a lizard being found in the food tray of a passenger on-board an Air India flight.

“We are in touch with Air India’s management. As per them, there has been no complaint, no passenger or person has come forward to claim that this picture was taken by him or her even now,” Raju told IANS here.
