Pakistan says issues with India should be resolved through dialogue

Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah has said that issues between India and Pakistan should be resolved through dialogue.

The Dawn quoted Khalilullah, as saying that Pakistan is devoted to maintaining good relations with all of its neighbours and emphasised on solving issues between India and Pakistan through dialogue.

The spokesman also said that Pakistan welcomes all efforts to normalize ties between the two countries, referring to the recent telephonic conversation between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi

and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif.

ITV confirms ‘Tennison’ prequel to ‘Prime Suspect’

‘Prime Suspect’ writer Lynda La Plante’s seminal detective ‘Jane Tennison’ is to be revived by ITV in a ‘Prime Suspect’ prequel set in 1970’s London.

Helen Mirren originally played Jane Tennison, one of the first female Detective Chief Inspectors in the Metropolitan Police, but the prequel will see a young Tennison as she begins her career, revealing why she became such a complex and formidable character, Deadline.com reported.

La Plante came up with the idea for a prequel series based on her latest novel of the same name which will be published in September.

Rights group accuses Libyan Govt. of torturing prisoners

A rights group has accused the Libyan government of torturing and ill-treating prisoners in the eastern regions of the country.

According to News24.com, Human Rights Watch (HRW) has alleged in a statement that the Libyan government and its allied forces are responsible for arbitrary mass detentions, torture and ill treatments

of prisoners.

The New York-based watchdog said it had obtained access to jails at Bayda and Benghazi, currently in the hands of forces loyal to Libya’s globally recognised administration.

A Sikh real estate agent has claimed to have been left ‘ embarrassed’ after he was barred entry from a club in South Auckland for wearing a turban.

According to Stuff.co.nz, 30-year-old Gurpreet Singh, who works at Ray White Papatoetoe in South Auckland, has lodged a complaint of religious discrimination with the Human Rights Commission.

Barcelona striker Neymar and president Josep Maria Bartomeu will face trial at a Spanish court, amidst claims that the Brazilian was paid more than the amount revealed by the club during his transfer from Santos.
