BCCI calls off Zimbabwe tour citing broadcast issues, fatigue: report

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly called off the proposed tour to Zimbabwe citing broadcasting issues and fatigue factors.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men were scheduled to play three ODIs and two T20 Internationals in Zimbabwe from July 10.

Meanwhile, India suffered their first-ever series defeat against Bangladesh on Sunday after the hosts claimed a six-wicket win in Dhaka to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. (ANI)

Delhi Govt. committed to providing best health facilities: Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said he has directed the city’s Health Department to implement the demands of the doctors of the national capital who have gone on strike, adding that his government is committed to providing the best health facilities to the people.

Kejriwal shared the information on twitter.

“Most demands of striking docs genuine. I hv directed health dept to implement them. Health dept shud hv resolved it earlier,” he wrote.

Delhi’s resident doctors go on indefinite strike

The resident doctors began an indefinite strike here on Monday demanding more rooms, cleaner environment, better salaries and working hours.

“Our demands are same as was during the strike in February. We are 1,500 resident doctors and there are only 150 rooms that too in bad shape. When we come after 36 hours of duty, we find that there is

leakage in our rooms. There are a lot of stray dogs and cats roaming everywhere. We don’t have OTs here because of which there is a long waiting list. The patients suffer and then they blame us for all this.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday condemned the attack on Afghanistan Parliament and termed it as a despicable and cowardly act.

“The attack on the Afghanistan Parliament is a despicable and cowardly act. There is no place for such attacks in a democracy,” he tweeted.

“My prayers are with those injured. We stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Afghanistan in this hour,” he added.

Kozhikode airport clash: CISF jawans brought to Malappuram Police Station

The CISF personnel, who have been arrested for their involvement in the violent clash with the Airport Authority of India (AAI) employees at the Kozhikode Airport, were brought to the Malappuram Police Station on Monday.

One CISF personnel was killed in the clash, which took place on June 10.

The clash was a sequel to a dispute on security clearance of the AAI

staff which resulted in the death of the CISF jawan when a gun went

Afghan Parliament attack: All seven Taliban militants killed

All seven Taliban attackers involved in the Afghan Parliament attack have been killed by the special forces after a siege that lasted over an hour.

According to Tolo News, the health officials said that 31 civilians have been injured and no deaths have been reported.

Kabul Police chief Abdul Rahman Rahimi confirmed that a car detonated outside the Parliament earlier today followed by a series of explosions resulted in immediate evacuation of MPs and journalists from the Parliament.

The attack took place as the new Defence Minister Massoom Stanekzai was being introduced to the MPs.

Large quantity of gold seized at Vizag airport

Customs officials on Monday seized around 50 kilograms of gold at the Visakhapatnam Airport in the city.

According to reports, around 100 passengers travelling from Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok detained have been detained in connection with the case.

RBI to conduct overnight variable rate reverse repo auction under LAF today

The Reserve Bank of India will conduct overnight variable rate reverse repo auction for a notified amount of ? 25,000 crore on Monday evening.

The auction will be conducted between 4 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. as per the revised guidelines on Term Repo Auctions issued on February 13, 2014.

Successful offers will get the allotment at their respective offered rates. Offers at or above the repo rate will be rejected.

The reversal of the overnight variable rate reverse repo will take place on Tuesday (June 23). (ANI)

Intel launches Remote Keyboard for android that make phone work as a keyboard for PC

Intel has launched a free Android app that lets user’s use their phone as a keyboard and track-pad for their PC.

According to the nextweb.com, Intel Remote Keyboard was designed for use with mini PCs, but users can use it on any system running Windows 7 or 8.

For app to work, download the android app and install the companion desktop software. When user devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, Intel Remote Keyboard will detect their PC automatically.

NSE to begin overnight investment facility from June 22

Country’s top stock exchange NSE will introduce an overnight liquid transaction facility on its web-based Mutual Fund platform, from June 22.

The facility will enable traders, especially small investors, to invest even for a single night in liquid funds.

88 Pak fishermen released by India, reach Wagah border

88 Pakistani fishermen, who were released from various jails in Gujarat as part of a goodwill gesture earlier this week, reached the Wagah border on Sunday.

Out of total 115 Pakistani fishermen, the release of remaining 27 of them will be considered as and when their nationality is confirmed by the Pakistan High Commission in India.

Their release has been done so that they can be with their family members during the holy month of Ramzan.

Pakistan had on Friday repatriated 113 Indian fishermen via the Attari-Wagah joint check post.
