THE URGENCY OF PERSONAL CHANGE – 8

CONCLUSION:

As one of the wise said:
*”Buy success for yourself today, for the market still exists, and the price is affordable, and goods are low-priced, and do not wait until the market and the goods are inaccessible”*.

Allah says, (which means),
*“(And remember) the Day when He will gather you (all) on the Day of gathering – that will be the Day of mutual loss and gain.”*
(Quran, At-Taghabun, 64:9)

For those, who take Allah’s message lightly, they will be sorry one day for the opportunity they had but instead missed.
As Allah states about those people: (which means),

THE WARNINGS AND THE REPENTANCE:

By Allah! The recent events, disasters, calamities and the deeds of mankind (The open rejection and disobedience prevailing all around) are warnings of approaching torment, and forthcoming afflictions, so we have no resort except sincere repentance as long as repentance is still available.

Let’s, therefore, not wait until there is no escape, as Allah (SWT) says:
(which means),
*“And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned.”*
(Quran: Ash-Shu’ara, 26:227)

HADITH: GREATEST SINS:

Narrated `Abdullah (radiAllahu anhu): I asked the Prophet (sallellahu alaihi wa sallam):

“What is the greatest sin in the Sight of Allah?”

He said, “That you set up a rival unto Allah though He Alone created you.”

I said, “That is indeed a great sin.” Then asked, “What is next?”

He said, “To kill your son lest he should share your food with you.”

I asked, “What is next?”

He said, “To commit illegal sexual intercourse with the wife of your neighbour.”

10 WAYS OF PROTECTION FROM SHAYTAN

1. Seeking refuge with Allah from Shaytan. Allah the Most High said, “And if there comes to you from Satan an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.” [41: 36]

2. Recitation of the two soorahs al-Falaq and an-Nas, as they have wondrous effect in seeking refuge with Allah from his evil, weakening Shaytan and protection from him. This is why the Messenger, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, said: “No person seeks refuge with anything like the Mu`awwidhatayn (soorahs al-Falaq and an-Nas)”.[an-Nasaa’i, 5337]

DESENSITIZATION TO FALSEHOOD AND IMPERFECTIONS

Change of any type first requires clearly identifying and recognizing the negative behavior, habit, thought, or belief. However, when one gets desensitized to such imperfections, the need for such a change is no longer felt. The “negatives” become part of our existence and we become complacent about them. For example, many amongst Muslims pray Fajar prayers after the prescribed time (or miss it altogether) and no longer see it as a sin or feel the impulse to correct such a behavior.

HADITH: BENEFITS OF FAJR PRAYER (JAMAAT/CONGREGATION)

Jundub bin Abdullah (RadiyAllahu anhu) reported: Messenger of Allah (Sallellahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “When anyone offers the Fajr (dawn) prayer, in congregation, he is in the Protection of Allah. So let not Allah call him to account, withdrawing, in any respect, His Protection. Because, He will get hold of him and throw him down on his face in the Hell-fire.”

LACK OF COMMITMENT

Commitment to change is essential for any major change of attitude to take place in the long run. Research has proved that things such as “will power” can take us only so far and for so long. We need a more stable “inner resource” to sustain our change efforts for the long run.

The Profile Of A Muslim (Mu’min) According To The Quran

These verses from the Quran sketch the Profile of a Muslim (Mu’min). Success for a Muslim doesn’t automatically follow belief. It requires fulfillment of certain conditions.

(Qur’an: Surah 23: Al-Muminoon: ayaat: 1-11)

1. Successful indeed are the believers.

2. Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness.

3. And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah
has forbidden).

4. And those who pay the Zakat.

THE BLESSINGS OF GRATITUDE AND SHUKR

Gratitude (shukr) is about expressing thanks and appreciation to those who do any favor to us. Obviously, none can come close to our creator, Allah, who gave us everything. As the Quran states:“Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion”[Infitar 82:7]. As humans, Allah has bestowed on us the nature to be grateful and we should thus express that gratitude not just to Allah but to the people whom we deal with as well. In many places in the Quran, Allah divides people as being grateful and as ungrateful to motivate us to join the camp of those who are grateful.

WHY DID GOD CREATE EVERYTHING?

Allah says in His Quran He did not create all of this for any foolish purpose.
Allah Says:
* “And I did not Create the jinn and humans except they should worship Me.” [Noble Quran 51:56]

He created us for the purpose of worshiping Him, Alone and without any partners.

Dua (Supplication) – The Tool For Asking What You Want

Trials, tribulations and challenges are part of every person’s life. However, to counter that, Allah has provided us a very powerful tool – and that is the tool of du’a or asking Allah for help and his mercy when we need it. And we need it all the time…

However, to understand trials and tribulations that we face in our daily lives, we also need to understand the topic of “Sins” and how our sins may be related to our trials and tribulations.

HADITH: ASK FOR FORGIVENESS TODAY BEFORE ITS TOO LATE

Abu Hurairah (RadiyAllahu anhu) reported: The Prophet (Sallellahu alaihi wa sallam) said:
“He who has done a wrong affecting his brother’s honour or anything else, let him ask his forgiveness today before the time (i.e., the Day of Resurrection) when he will have neither a dinar nor a dirham. If he has done some good deeds, a portion equal to his wrong doings will be subtracted from them; but if he has no good deeds, he will be burdened with the evil deeds of the one he had wronged in the same proportion”. Dealing With Life’s Challenges And Difficulties

We all come across various difficulties in our lives. However, not all of us handle them as effectively as we should. As strategies for getting through life’s problems are rarely formally learned, we are constrained to use trial and error, sometimes leading to suboptimal results.

GOOD MANNERS IN ISLAM

Why Good Manners Are Important In Islam?

*In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful*

First let’s see what did the Quran and the Prophet (s.a.w.s.) say about Akhlaaq (manners):

The Prophet Mohammad (Sallellahu alaihi wa sallam), in Muwatta Imam Malik said: “Verily, I was sent for no other reason, except to perfect the noble traits of character” – in other words; one of the Prophet’s (s.a.w.s.) goals, in fact, the primary mission was the perfection of how people behave – their manners.

HADITH: Knowledgeable / Ignorant (An Example)

Narrated An-Nu’man bin Bashir (RadiAllahu anhu): The Prophet (Sallellahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “The example of the person abiding by Allah’s order and restrictions in comparison to those who violate them is like the example of those persons who drew lots for their seats in a boat. Some of them got seats in the upper part, and the others in the lower. When the latter needed water, they had to go up to bring water (and that troubled the others), so they said, ‘Let us make a hole in our share of the ship (and get water) saving those who are above us from troubling them.

BELIEF IN ALLAH (GOD)

The core of Islamic deen (way of life) is to believe in Allah (God). It is to say that there is none worthy of worship except Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) and He (SWT) is the only Creator and Sustainer of everything. Allah (SWT) is Omniscient, Merciful and Forgiving. Allah (SWT) is unique in His Names and Attributes. Allah (SWT) is not comparable to anything and nor is He (SWT) within His creation. Allah (SWT) does not beget nor was He (SWT) ever begotten. Allah (SWT) is the only One, Who gives life and causes death.

Allah (SWT) says in the Qur’an (interpretation of the meaning):
