Team director Ravi Shastri today hosted the entire Test squad for ‘Team Dinner’ to celebrate a good performance in a rain-marred one-off cricket Test, here.

“It was Ravi who took special initiative to host a dinner at a club in the posh Gulshan area of Dhaka. The team members were told that it’s been a moral victory for them as our opponents were never in the match. Another reason for hosting the dinner is because Test team members like Harbhajan Singh, Wriddhiman Saha will be leaving for India tomorrow,” a source close to Team management told PTI today.

Pop star Ariana Grande says she sometimes forgets she is famous until she sees her photos in pyjamas in public.

The 21-year-old singer admitted she sometimes does not think about the fact that people are watching her and is surprised when pictures of her out in public wearing her pyjamas surface online, reported Female First.

“Sometimes I’ll forget and go outside in my pyjamas and the next day I’ll see a bunch of photos of me at the grocery store. That’s always weird.”

Singer-actress Nicole Scherzinger has reportedly been dropped by her record label.

The 36-year-old singer is believed to have parted ways with RCA Records after experiencing a bad run of sales of her second solo album “Big Fat Lie” in the UK charts, reported Contactmusic.

Shark attacks badly injure two teens in US

A teenage girl had part of her arm torn off and a boy was also badly injured in separate shark attacks in a North Carolina seaside town, officials and US media said.

Authorities raced to get people out of the water at picturesque Oak Island after a shark mauled a girl of 14, followed soon after by a 16-year-old boy who reportedly lost his arm, NBC News said yesterday.

The girl, who was visiting the area with family, was airlifted to a hospital for urgent treatment, said Oak Island Mayor Betty Wallace.

North Carolina shark attack leaves teen girl severely hurt

A North Carolina mayor says that a teenage girl suffered severe injuries in a shark attack near a fishing pier.

Mayor Betty Wallace of Oak Island, a seaside town bordered to the south by the Atlantic Ocean, says that the teenage girl was bitten yesterday afternoon.

Wallace says the girl lost part of her left arm and may lose part of her left leg. The victim was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

Wallace said in a phone interview yesterday that she didn’t have further information on the girl’s prospects for recovery.

Policeman killed in Egypt’s Fayoum Governorate

A policeman has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in al-Azizia village in Egypt’s Fayoum Governorate.

The victim, identified as Sherif Goma, was on his way to work when the gunmen attacked him yestereday, primary investigations showed, according to security sources.

The attacks targeting police and military has increased after the ouster of Islamist former president Mohamed Morsi in 2013.

Over 600 security personnel have been reportedly killed since then.

NY Gov: Escaped inmates could be close or ‘in Mexico by now’

Two convicted murderers who used power tools to cut their way out of a prison near the Canadian border could be nearby or “in Mexico by now,” New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has said.

The intense manhunt focussed on the fields and Adirondack woods near the prison in upstate New York after the inmates’ escape was apparently hampered by a prison employee’s decision to back out as their getaway driver nine days ago.

Two North Koreans jailed in Panama over Cuba arms cache

A court in Panama jailed two North Koreans for 12 years for trying to smuggle Cuban weapons through the Panama Canal in an incident which raised international suspicions, their attorney has said.

Their convictions came as something of a surprise since a lower court had let the men off after their North Korean cargo ship was found to be carrying Cuban weapons including surface-to-air missile systems and launchers when it was stopped in the Panama Canal in July 2013.

The “Veep” actor has joined “Gold”, which will star Matthew McConaughey and Edgar Ramirez.

Simons will play a Wall Street banker who is forced into the jungles of Borneo. Michelle Williams also stars in the film, which is based on a script by Patrick Massett and John Zinman.

The Black Bear Pictures film, directed by Stephen Gaghan, centers on a man named Kenny Wells (McConaughey), who teams up with an equally luckless geologist to find gold deep in the uncharted jungle of Indonesia.

The filming will take place in Thailand, New Mexico and New York.

An ethnic Russian woman and her young daughter have been found dismembered and their body parts stored in plastic garbage bags in the violence- plagued Mexican city of Tijuana near the US border.

Baja California state deputy prosecutor Jose Maria Gonzalez said the drug-affected eldest daughter, 19, was the prime suspect in the grisly case, uncovered only when neighbours reported a foul smell emanating from the house in the middle-class district of Playas de Tijuana.

2 men charged after gun goes off in posh NYC hotel; 4 hurt

A man arrested after police say a gun in his pocket went off at a swank New York City hotel, injuring four people, faced charges today of reckless endangerment and assault.

Police said 42-year-old Vladimir Gotlibovsky also tampered with physical evidence after his gun discharged inside the famed Waldorf Astoria hotel.

Another man, 51-year-old Felix Gotlibovsky, was also arrested, on charges of criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence.

Authorities say the Brooklyn men were at the Park Avenue hotel last night as a wedding was taking place.

Thousands of Syrian refugees flee into Turkey from Tal Abyad

Thousands of Syrian refugees poured into Turkey on Sunday to escape the battle between Kurds and Islamic State (IS) jihadists for the Syrian town of Tal Abyad, as the Turkish authorities reopened the border after days of closure.

The Syrians, many carrying sacks of possessions and small children, flooded through the Akcakale border gate onto Turkish territory, an AFP photographer said.

There had earlier been chaotic scenes as some of the refugees crossed the border illegally through holes in fences, prompting rapid intervention from the Turkish army.

More than 100 Baluch militants surrender in Pakistan

Over a hundred Baluch militants fighting against Pakistani forces in the separatist-insurgency wracked southwestern Baluchistan province have surrendered and pledged their allegiance to the country, officials today said.

A group of 59 militants including two key commanders appeared before the media, along with senior politicians and government officials from the province, to announce they would end militant activities and become a “useful part” of society.

They followed a group of 47 militants yesterday. All were given amnesty by the government.

Minister: US weighing placement of army equipment in Poland

Poland’s Defense Minister Tomasz Siemoniak says the US will “soon” take a decision to place heavy army equipment in warehouses in Poland for decades to come.

Poland believes its security is threatened by Russia’s hostile actions in eastern Ukraine and is seeking permanent US and NATO presence on its territory as a deterrent.

Siemoniak tweeted Sunday that he and the US defense secretary held talks about placing US heavy army equipment in Poland last month.

“Decisions are near,” he wrote.
