Vidya, Emraan to shoot in Cape Town soon?

Actors Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi will reportedly start shooting in Cape Town, South Africa, for “Humari Adhuri Kahaani” from next month.

The film was slated to go on floors in the summer of 2014, but it has now been postponed to October.

“Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi will start shooting for ‘Humari Adhuri Kahaani’ from October and the first schedule will be widely shot in Cape Town (South Africa) and the second schedule will take place in Dubai,” a source told IANS.

Scientists have revealed that children who are exposed to chemotherapy or radiotherapy while in the womb suffer no negative impacts on mental or cardiac development from chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

In the first study, 38 children prenatally exposed to chemotherapy were recruited from the International Network for Cancer, Infertility and Pregnancy (INCIP) registry and assessed for mental development and cardiac health and their outcomes were compared to 38 control children who were not exposed to chemotherapy.

Double Layer Vegetable Sandwich

Ingredients:

Toast two slices (on one side only) of whole wheat bread.

Apply egg less mayo to the non toasted side of a bread slice.

Layer lettuce leaves and cucumber slices. Place a bread slice over it.

Place a cheese slice over this, layer the sauteed vegetables and place the toasted bread slice over it.

Serve.

For sauteed vegetables – Grate a small carrot, finely chop capsicum and a shallot.

Heat a tsp of olive oil in a pan, add the shallot and saute for 2 mts.

Add bell pepper and carrot and saute for 2 more minutes.

Ingredients:

Cauliflower – half head, soak florets in salted hot water for 15 mts
Fresh green peas – 1/3 cup (matar) (optional)
Tomatoes – 1, medium, finely chopped
Onion – 1, large, finely chopped
Ginger – Green Chilli paste (2 or 3 green chilies+1/2″ ginger piece)
Curd – 1/4 cup, beaten
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Red Chili powder -1 tsp
Cumin powder – 1/4 tsp
Kasuri Methi – 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder – pinch
Salt to taste
Oil – 2 1/2 tbsps
Make a paste:
Cashew nuts – 1/4 cup

1 large onion
1 thumb sized ginger
2 tomatoes
3 green chilies
3 cloves garlic
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder )
1/2 teaspoon garam masala )

1/4 teaspoon cumin powder ) mix dry spices together
2 teaspoons chili powder )
2 teaspoons coriander powder )
Salt
Oil

METHOD

Wash and cut the ends off the okra and slice into two sideways

Peel and slice the onions, garlic and ginger

Mix all the dry spices together

Heat oil in a pan and fry the sliced onions, garlic and ginger until golden brown

The European Space Agency’s Rosetta mission will deploy its lander Philae on Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko on 12 November.

After conducting an unprecedented scientific analysis of the comet, the landing site, currently known as Site J, was selected just six weeks after Rosetta arrived at the comet, following its 10-year journey through the solar system.

A new research has revealed that bio-artificial liver support system for patients with acute liver failure is under investigation to assess the safety and effectiveness.

Lead investigator Steven D. Colquhoun at Cedars-Sinai said that the quest for a device that can fill in for the function of the liver, at least temporarily, has been underway for decades and a bio-artificial liver (BAL), could potentially sustain patients with acute liver failure until their own livers self-repair.

Mild earthquake in J&K

An earthquake of 4.6 magnitude on the Richter scale occurred on the Indo-Pak border region of Jammu and Kashmir today.

According to the Indian Meterological Department, the quake struck at 9.52 pm.

The depth of the earthquake was 10km below the surface, IMD said.

Four TN officials leave for Bangalore to meet Jaya

Four key officials attached to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Secretariat today left here for Bangalore to meet Jayalalithaa, who has been awarded a four-year jail term in a graft case.

Former Chief Secretary and currently adviser to Chief Minister Sheela Balakrishnan, Secretaries Venkataraman, Ramalingam and Sudalai Kannan left by a private airliner, according to airport sources.

The reason for the meeting was not immediately known.

The CBI today registered two fresh cases in connection with multi-crore chit fund scam in West Bengal in which for the first time two non-Saradha ponzi companies which have been named. CBI sources said two cases have been registered against MPS Greenery and Akashdeep projects Limited on the orders of Supreme Court on May 9, 2014.

CBI has registered these FIRs against Managing Director and other Directors of these companies on the allegation of criminal breach of trust, cheating, criminal conspiracy and abetment.

To protect the body from the dangerous ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun, skin pigment converts UV radiation into harmless heat through a rapid chemical reaction, a study says.

“In this way, the pigment disarms the energy in the UV light and prevents it causing harmful chemical reactions,” said Villy Sundstram, a professor of chemistry at the Lund University in Sweden.
